The Silo Grill, located inside the Angus Glen Golf Club, serves up Canadian/American eats in the clubhouse of the private golf course located in Markham. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating (patio seating facing the golf course). They serve weekend brunch as well as lunch and dinner. Vibes are casual and service was friendly. I recently dined at The Silo Grill over Canada Day long weekend with a party of ~16 guests for brunch. We sat out on the patio on 2 tables. It was quite hot during that morning but the umbrellas helped with providing some shade from the sun. Service was good but the food took quite a while to prepare (likely due to the large order for the kitchen). Either way, their brunch menu has the usual classics - bennies, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, bagels, and even a burger. Majority of the party ordered bennies. I opted for the smoked salmon bagel which came with a side of fruit and home fries. I was able to try some waffles (a sweet option) which was great as well. My smoked salmon bagel is what you'd expect - the only thing is that the cream cheese is already spread for you (so you have no choice in regards to how much cream cheese you want on your bagel). Overall, food is decent and service was friendly. The vibes were chill - if the weather was a bit cooler the patio would have been nicer.

Silo Grill easily became a fan favourite for my family. We visited at least a dozen time throughout the Summer. We enjoyed each visit so much, we returned with family for more visits during special occasions. Our 1st visit (admittedly) wasn't the greatest and the problem fell mainly with service. We provided our feedback on our way out to management and on our next fw visits, the service improved rapidly. They took care of us so well on each and every visit, I have nothing bad to say about this spot. Let me start with the view! We sat outside each visit on the patio overlooking the golf course. Our kids loved it and every week they ask to go back for brunch on the patio. Some of our fav items we've ordered: Lemon Buttermilk Pancakes - The pancakes were soft airy and fluffy. It came with lemon butter and Saskatoon Berry Maple Compote which added an incredible flavour to the dish. (FYI - this was an add on that my hubby and I shared in addition to what we ordered) Farm Fresh Eggs - my kids loved this item (huge bacon & egg fans!). It is one of their fav every time we go. Scrambled eggs (or poached is an option) home fries, bacon & toast. Served with a side of Angus Glen Strawberry Jam! This item is a little on the small side (see attached photo), my kids ordered a side of pancakes to share because it wasn't filling for them. Also, the menu states it comes with potato hash, but we were served roasted potato slices instead that were really overcooked. For the price of $16.00 I was expecting more food than what was served. Angus Glenn Benny - This is my absolute fav item - potato rösti, peameal bacon, spinach, roasted tomato, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise sauce. The egg was poached perfectly, the potato rösti really makes this dish very flavourful. The ingredients all come together so well, which easily makes this my fav to order on most visits. Grilled Nolan Farms Angus Brisket Burger (served with Angus Fries) - braised onions, white cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, horseradish mayo, grain mustard. The burger was grilled perfectly to the right temp and seasoned well. The toppings really pulled this together for a great tasting burger that wasn't overpowered with the topping. The taste of the brisket really came through well. Pico De Gala, Black Bean, Avocado - lime crema, cilantro, potato rösti (GF option) - hubby ordered this one more than one visit. Great flavours and seasoned well. Summer may be over, but our visits have not stopped. We love dining in when we can. Def a spot worth checking out for brunch/breakfast and dinner as well.
It was our first time here and while the view was great, the experience was mediocre. We made reservations for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Fungi Ravioli and Classic Ribeye burger. The ravioli was good but portion was small. The burger was normal - nothing special. The food took a while to arrive - I overheard the large group next to us that this is actually a norm. They also charge $1.75 for hot water with lemon - and you get half a piece of lemon.
You'd THINK that you need to be a golf-loving, sunhat-wearing, wealthy one percenter to get into this country club dining experience. Nope. Here I am, just another millennial, strolling in to have some fancy brunch with fancy views. And that's what makes this place so great! Silo Grill is located within the gorgeous Angus Glen Golf Club. It's a beautiful piece of real estate with lush rolling hills and beautiful colours in the autumn, making it a popular wedding venue and weekend golf getaway for members. It's a surprise then that their restaurant is open to the public. Even more surprising are their extremely reasonable prices, with most items below $15! Brunch that's cheaper and better than Cora's by a mile. Their menu may be simple, but it's diverse enough to suit most palettes. Got the open-faced mushroom omelette. It wasn't the best omelette in the world but the mushrooms were tasty and the home fries were crisp. The traditional French toast was satisfying and The Big One, featuring eggs, breakfast meats, and home fries, was enough to feed two. The service was a little scattered though. As more people rolled in for brunch, the same two servers managed the entire area. They would benefit from hiring a couple more staff members. I'm hoping they never implement a members-only policy. The quality matched the prices, and the prices were a steal given the environment we were eating in. Truly one of the most beautiful brunch experiences you can have in Markham.
Came here for brunch on a Sunday and ended up only being able to order from their regular menu as they have a buffet brunch on Sundays (even one happening for Mothers Day next week!) which would have been nice to know about before we arrived. We ordered the Buddha Bowl and the open poached egg and avocado toast which came with fries. The Buddha Bowl was a little dry, but the toast and fries were delicious! It did take a long time for our food to come out, the place was busy though and the brunch area was very full which could be the reason why. Overall, very nice place and would be happy to go back to sit on the patio which overlooks the golf course - and also try their brunch!
Silo Grill has finally reopened after being closed for quite some time and they have changed up their menu! Everything on their new menu sounded so delicious but I have to ask, where is the pasta option hahaha?!? Bring the guests some pasta! (Although rumour has it, they're expanding their menu shhhh!!) I ordered takeout for dinner on a Thursday night and my family got the: - Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich - 137 Grilled 12oz Ribeye Steak - Organic Salmon - Vietnamese Fried Brussels Sprouts - Panko Dusted Calamari - Poutine Let's go through each dish 1 by 1 !! Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich: This dish was my personal favourite. The chicken was crunchy, the pickles were delicious and refreshing and the red cabbage slaw fit perfectly in the sandwich. The star of this dish was definitely the Angus hot honey sauce! ($17) Ribeye: the ribeye was perfectly cooked and tender - enough said. The dish came with a side of fries ($39) Organic Salmon: the salmon was so fresh! The salmon sat on a bed of delicious pureed cauliflower with warm sweet pea, and jerusalem artichoke. I have never tried jerusalem artichoke before but if I could compare it something I'm familiar with, I would say it's similar to a slice of potato (Oops) ($27) Vietnamese Fried Brussel Sprouts: wow, who knew this dish would be so tasty?! As someone who loves brussel sprouts, I was a huge fan of this dish. The flavours were great but a tad bit oily ($16) Panko Dusted Calamari: I loved the texture of the calamari. It wasn't rubbery or too oily and was still crunchy when I ate it at home! ($16) Poutine: I think this was my least favourite dish. The gravy and cheese curds were cold (probably because I ordered takeout) so it was a very thick dish :( ($14) I will definitely be revisiting this restaurant and cannot wait to eat these dishes fresh on the patio!!
As this is a beautiful golf course, I was kinda expecting a little more for their restaurant. As safety precautions, all their seating area is done at their patio which we had no problem with as you'd get a gorgeous view of the field. I appreciate how they take social distancing carefully as every seat has a good amount of space far apart, and the "extra table" closer to the outside (depending on your seat) is where the waiter would give or take away anything you don't need without them having to be too close to you. They have a regular menu and breakfast menu which runs from 8am-3pm in Saturday/Sunday. We ordered the Open Face Bacon Western Omelet and Angus Breakfast Sandwich. Overall, I find the dishes to be lacking in taste, as well as overall presentation of the dishes. I would have assumed the Omelet would be what you'd normally get at other restaurants, but theirs was presented as just an egg with the toppings sprinkled on top. Personally, if this was what I was getting for the price, I might as well make it at home myself. I've never seen or been served an omelette like this before and was pretty disappointed overall. Beside the beautiful views, I probably would not return to this restaurant unless my family or friends want to visit.
Dining with a view of the golf course! Silo Grill exceeds my expectation. Located right inside Angus Glen Golf Club is a great restaurant to have breakfast/brunch and even a drink! The menu though simple but priced reasonably. You have a choice of something light or go all the way. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Service was excellent as our waitress kept my coffee topped up all the time!
Food: These fish tacos are amazing even though they are not deep fried. It is healthy and tastes so good with the sauce, most importantly thing is that I did not feel bad eating them afterwards! I am also amazed that they have fusion food on their menu such as the kimchi burger that I got which i thought was such a good match. The chicken penne is definitely a safe choice as well. Portion: Normal Environment: Good view looking at the golf course no matter if you are sitting indoor or on the patio
We came here for lunch on a Sunday, during the World Junior Girls Championships at Angus Glen. The restaurant was mostly empty both indoors and outdoors, so we had our pick of seating. The outdoor seats have a nice view of the 18th hole of the golf course. Even though the restaurant is located inside a golf course, I didn't think it was particularly expensive. We ordered the nachos ($12) as an appetizer, line-caught fish and chips (substituted with sweet potato fries) ($18), and the pan-seared salmon ($19). The nachos were a large portion, so we took the remainder home. The fish and chips were really good. The fish was not overcooked, and flaked off. The sweet potato fries were delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the shitake mushrooms and edamame were tasty. Afterwards, we walked along the path and watched some golf. All in all, an excellent dining experience.
Came here for breakfast. They have a small menu but a decent variety. Love their food and would definitely come back again for breakfast as well as to try their lunch and high afternoon tea. Great view. Outside seating. The server was very nice and friendly. If you just come for the food and are not used to this golf club environment, you may find it confusing when trying to find the restaurant. It has more of a lounge/bar look.

My date and I had a wonderful time dining at the patio - we loved the beautiful golf course in the background, the amazing sunset view, and really delicious appetizers and cocktails! I hope to be back again before the summer ends :) We shared the following appetizers - Tuna Tartare with mixed mango salad and sticky rice, and Crab Cakes were loaded with crab meats! They were both very filling (like a meal on its own!) and quite tasty. We also had a red Sangria and a Negroni. Both strong and very good cocktails! Thank you to the hostess, and our server, Lawrence, for taking such a great care of us! Highly recommend a visit at Silo at Angus Glen Golf Club, and enjoy the summer sun! read more

It was our first time coming to the restaurant, as well as the golf club in general. We had a reservation for 530pm but we arrived early. The host was able to accommodate us and brought us to the table immediately. The space of the restaurant wasn't as big as I imagined, with only 12 tables - 4 seaters. However, they had combined a few tables to transform to long tables in order to accommodate 2 big parties. Perhaps it was the holiday season, we weren't given any water or acknowledgments 30 minutes after we were seated. Given that we had ample time to study the menu, we knew what we wanted for the night - their winter set menus. Initially, the reason for the visit was that we won their contest on Instagram for dinner of 2 on their set menu B, however, we asked if we could upgrade to the menu C and pay the difference, which, they were able to accommodate our request. Their set menu each comes with a choice of appetizer, a main course, a dessert, a non-alcoholic beverage, AND coffee/ tea. The pan seared atlantic salmon was definitely a winner! Crispy on the skin, and the salmon was cooked perfectly with it being juicy and tender and very silky-smooth. The striploin was cooked just the way we asked - medium rare. The red velvet cake was a nice touch to finish off our evening, but the cream cheese frosting was a little bit sweet to our liking. Other than that, the cake itself was soft and moist. The price of the set menu is tax and tips included, which is very budget friendly with the amount and level of food you get. read more

I took my girlfriend for her birthday brunch. The food was amazing, delicious and fresh. The scenery breathtaking and peaceful. Prices are very reasonable for the type of menu. I will be bring my daughters next. read more

Good quality, prices seem fair, good view of golf course. Came here for lunch. They sat everyone in the Victoria Room which is left of the usual restaurant area where service is usually done. Perhaps there was an event that day? It didn't really matter, still nice view and great food. The wait for food took a bit longer than expected. Staff was busy running around and servicing, very helpful and polite when they did tend to us. read more
My wife and I married at Angus Glen in 2014. We decided that we wanted to have lunch at the Silo Grill for our one year anniversary. We had a party of 13. The staff were extremely accommodating. Grandma (we call her Baba) is of course older and has mobility issues. Although they had us sitting in a really nice spot on the lower level of the deck, they quickly changed our seating arrangement when we told them that Baba couldn't get down the stairs. We sat instead on the upper deck, in a nicely shaded area. Totally impressive. The view was great. The staff are extremely accommodating, with all types of needs, separate bills, dietary constraints, and allergies just mention a few. I should mention the waitress also walked a far distance carrying all meals and drinks, of course respectively. She did this without even showing a bit of distain. She was a real professional and so very polite. Angus Glen, where this restaurant is, was also the site of the 2015 Panam Golf games. Getting to the food. It's decent at the Silo Grill. I've had better, but I'm also a bit of a traveller. However the food at our wedding (which is food made on site as well) was phenomenal. Perhaps it was a different chef. Overall I don't think you'll be disappointed if you decide to eat here. I would almost guarantee you'll enjoy the experience overall. The prices are fair also, and the decor is also great. Great place for brunch! Good food at reasonable prices. And great patio view of the golf course. Been here many times for brunch. Highly recommend their breakfast and burgers! read more
