You can smell the pizza smells like halfway down the block. It'll lure you in for sure. They were very busy on a Sunday around noon, but they were efficient and got us in even quicker than the 30 minutes they told us for a wait. Our pizzas and breadsticks came out quick. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. The restaurant is tight on the inside. Felt like we were always in the way. Their website said to not even bother with their parking lot and to just park in nearby paid beach parking. If you're planning on going to the beach as well, it's honestly worth it at $10 for the full day rate.

The environment, the experience the food, the flavor... can't beat it.

My favorite place in the country to eat. Never bad service, flavor off the chart-- even simple dishes like the Irish nachos blow my mind. One of the best places Michigan has to offer. I drive an hour for this place, regularly-- with everyone I know.

GREAT PIZZA! For a tourist town this was some exceptional pizza. Fantastic beer menu of local and craft beers and a few commercial beers that are passe'. Appetizer of bread and chicken strips for the littles was good too. Great menu of specialty pizzas and build your own too. A must try for a good pie in St Joseph!

Amazing time for take out at this fun pizza shop. I got the small Whirlpool pizza and the hot wings. And we split the wedge salad. Everything was so good!! We couldn't eat all of it. Gosh I loved the thin pizza crust with a mountain of toppings!! This is well worth it

Summer hack from a former long time local. Order online and pick up fast. They have two sets of ovens. You can have hot, fresh pizza without waiting in the long lines. They will give you plates and have a couple picnic tables outside. It's our go-to plan while in town. This pizza cannot be beat! And their allergy friendly options are impressive!

Great service and variety of flavors keeps us coming back whenever we are in town. We went on an early Sunday evening around 5:30. Even though we had a party of 8 they were able to seat us right away. The restaurant is pretty spacious with seating available for larger groups but it is best to call in advance to check on wait times before heading out since they don't take reservations. We got the harvest pizza, the parugula and the bbq chicken pizza. We also ordered 2 salads, Cheryl and Caesar salads. We enjoyed them all. We also asked for hot honey on the side for those that wanted that extra sweet kick. Service was very friendly. The pizzas came out at a reasonable time. The restaurant does get a little loud but since we were seated off the side and in a corner table, it wasn't too bad.

Since I was in high school Silver Beach Pizza has been the answer most people give to the question "Where would you recommend grabbing a pizza around here?" Since then, they have also become a great spot to grab a drink, have a gathering upstairs, and have let the history of the building/Amtrak take the lead in the decor selection (specifically upstairs). I typically grab just a cheese pizza with their famous square slices while making sure to grab some red pepper flake packets and parmesan cheese packets. My husband loves pretty much every meat known to man kind on his pizza but he usually chooses or 2 and rotates his choices. We've never been disappointed with the pizza and hope to continue enjoying their food for years to come. Their calzones are also not to be overlooked and I'd highly recommend trying one if you're looking for something different. The parking lot can be a touch tricky, but there is also parking on top of the stairs if you are feeling energetic. Parking is the only tricky part of any visit to Silver Beach Pizza but it's always worth figuring out because it's a great spot that is consistent with their greatness.

Pulled up feeling like a million bucks, ready to devour some good food. Waited an hour 15 for a table to open, all the employees were so very kind. I almost started jumping with joy ans screaming "UwU" when I saw my FAVORITE redbull flavor on the menu. Got mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, made my mouth water. Veggie pizza, 3/5, don't like mushrooms. Cheese pizza 3/5 just normal, margarita pizza OH MI BOMBO!! it's DIVINE. 9/9 recommend if visiting the area, bit of a wait. good place.

If you're ever in St. Joseph, Silver Beach Pizza is an absolute must! The location alone is worth five stars. It is right by the Amtrak tracks, overlooking Lake Michigan and Silver Beach. There's something magical about eating a fresh pizza while the train thunders by. It's part of the whole experience! It was easy making a reservation online for the upper deck. The views up there of Lake Michigan were great! The pizza was just as amazing! I was worried about the style of all the toppings being under the cheese but I actually really enjoyed it! The service style at Sliver Beach Pizza was rare! They have a circle at each table with a green and red side. The green side up means you don't need assistance/do not want to be distributed. And, the red side up alerts your waiter to assist you. What a neat idea! If you're ever in the St. Joseph area, looking for great pizza, vibes, and views book the upper deck at Silver Beach Pizza!

All I can say is, WOW. I've had every type of pizza imaginable - New York style, Chicago deep dish, Detroit style, New Haven, and everything in between. While Silver Beach Pizza is difficult to categorize, it's nonetheless phenomenal. The pizza itself is a thin-ish crust, cut into squares, like a tavern-style pizza. The flavor is absolutely amazing. Service was fast, and the overall ambiance is very cool. They're located in an old Amtrak depot building that's been expanded, and they've got their parking situation figured out pretty nicely. This is now a go-to spot whenever we come back to St. Joseph.

my daughter has extremely severe food allergies to several things. I reached out to the owner pre trip. he was responsive, kind and informative. We are there twice and both times the workers were aware of allergen protocol and my daughter was able to eat a pizza safely. This places never disappoints. My family has been driving an hour to get to it for many years with no plans to stop. The pizza is unique and amazing, and there are tons of other options on the menu. The service is always attentive and friendly, and there is no better view around, especially from the upper deck. Don't frustrate yourself by trying to park in their tight lot, just park in town and walk down! read more

If you have ever stepped foot on St. Joseph soil (NOT "st joe's" - says the girl born and raised there!), you MUST, simply MUST go to Silver Beach Pizza... but make sure to add garlic to the pizza.... it is so unique in its deliciousness!! A true pizza lovers experience... but trust me when I say the added garlic makes a true difference from the ordinary to extra ordinary! Enjoy the views of Lake Michigan, Silver Beach, the amazing pizza - and of course... the schooners! read more

Cronyism runs rampant here! Waited in line for a half hour to get a seat at the bar overlooking lake. First in line and when I got upstairs there were no seats left. Found out owners lets their friends in ahead of opening. It Used to be a local favorite but won't be back. There is equally good pizza elsewhere! Who needs to pay good money to be treated so badly? Great food and service! It is a very family friendly place and/or can easily cater to large parties of people. I would definitely recommend having reservations or sending someone ahead to get on the waitlist (and they will text you when your table is available) to avoid waiting in line. Silver Beach Pizza is popular for a reason, as mentioned above, great food and service and the location is very close to the beach and carousel and play area. Highly recommend. read more

This pizza prospect is really quite the gem. A REAL diamond in the rough, in the most unexpected place! I thought I have had great pizza with the many adventures I've had touring places with fine pizza pies, but we quite literally stumbled upon this pizza PALACE contender and found the most delicious new york style pizza I've ever had in my entire life. Note that I capitalized 'palace'? This location was once a train cart holding station-- as suggested by the adjacent railroad tracks and nearby train station-- but the building was remade and remodeled into a large castle-like pizzeria, hence the emphasis, because with the castle and medieval feel of the architecture and pepperoni-dragon murals painted in the palace corridor-- you instantly know. It's a DELICIOUS DUNGEON OF PIZZA! What an epic feeling to feel like a royal in another time and place, at a beach castle, that exclusively serves fantasy-level pizza! Not only does the Silver Beach Pizzeria serve up an ambiance fit for kings-- but also, of course, pizza. Oh my gosh... I was MIND BLOWN! There is NO GREASE. NONE. The crusts are delightfully thin, crispy and flavorful. There are gluten free options for crusts, and even GF breadsticks for an appetizer! The marinara is made in-house and is DELICIOUS! There are vegan options as well for cheeses! I love when restaurants are mindful of those pateons with allergies, like me. Read the other reviews for more details on the flavors and variety but take it from me, the succinct foretelling of fantastic pizza is judged by ones performance of the execution of baking the dough to crust and the flavor of the sauce atop. I am astounded, this joint did NOT disappoint! I am in LOVE! Not only are there flexible dietary options but delightfully unique options for specialty pizza galore! There are pizzas that contain butternut squash, artichoke hearts, baked coconut shrimp, cabbage slaw, pickled onions, and more. Amazing options that really outshine the competition! No wonder why on a cold, rainy October day, the Silver Beach pizzeria was still PACKED? A palace that can easily sit over 100 people, and STILL had a waitlist? To my surprise it was SO WORTH IT! Very bad pizza with cheddar cheese mixed in. Truly disgusting and disappointing, one of the worst pizzas I have ever had including frozen etc. Over priced and will not return. $18 for a 13" pizza with 3 toppings that were almost impossible to identify. The pizza at Silver Beach Pizza is the best in Michigan. The crust is perfectly crispy, the sauce is flavorful, and the cheese is gooey and delicious. The restaurant offers a wide variety of toppings to choose from, so you can create your perfect pizza, or choose from many unique specialty pizza options! (My favorite is the BBQ Chicken) In addition to pizza, Silver Beach Pizza also serves up a variety of other menu items, such as pasta, sandwiches, and salads. The food is always fresh and it's the perfect place for a family gathering. Not to mention - conveniently located next to the beach! read more

Such a great place to have right beside the beach. The staff and the pizza were both great and our whole family left smiling. We will definitely be back! My only suggestion is to remember this place is a hot spot, our wait time when we checked in was two and a half hours. Either call ahead or be prepared to wait. read more

Pizza restaurant in century old train station located 150 yards from Lake Michigan. Two bars downstairs and one upstairs in the adults only Upper Deck.

History

Established in 2005.

The city owns this building, an unattended Amtrak station 150 from the shore of Lake Michigan. When we acquired the lease in 2005, the building had been closed for 3 years. We gutted the building, remodeled it, brought in Gelsosomos Pizza and crossed our fingers. It has worked out better than we could have imagined. We have a great staff and great customers and they love our pizza!

Visited Silver Beach Pizza for lunch on Thurs July 3 and both the food and service were horrendous! Our server (young femalenamed Tatyana) was very snobby and wouldn't talk to most of the people at our table. She sighed, groaned, and rolled her eyes when we didn't have our order ready before we sat down and she huffed and walked away when we asked for napkins and silverware (there were none on the table). When we asked another server (young male) for some napkins and silverware, he said that he wasn't working our table and that our server would come back sometime. She didn't come back for another 90 minutes! We talked to several servers to try to get our check when we were finished and they all said they couldn't help us. When we asked if there was a manager or supervisor who could help us, as very snobby and rude man came to our table and told us that if we wanted our check before Tatyana came back from her break, he could get it for us, but none of the coupons we had would be honored since we were not finishing with the original server we started with. In total, our meal for three people took 2.5 hours to finish: we ate for 30 minutes and waited a total of 2 hours for Tatyana and the other completely helpless and rude waitstaff and managers. Our pizza arrived cold and Tatyana was never around when our drinks needed to be refilled. You can bet that we will not recommend this horrendous place to anyone. read more

Love Silver Beach, and no we never tried Silver Beach Pizza. Always assumed it was a glorified Pizza Hut. Big mistake, HUGE! We ordered take out and actually had picnic tables outside facing the water cannons. I ordered the Undertow Za. It was down lightning fast. It is a thin, thin, crust pizza. The ingredients are fresh, like fresh garlic, fresh and sweet tomato sauce. This is a meat pizza, italian sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. I absolutely loved the flavors I tasted in this pizza. Some pizzas boast about their sauce, meats and then they are bland. This pizza, my mouth was tantalized by all the flavors, including the fresh garlic and sweet, wonderful tomato sauce. Was tempted to go back the next day for another. This is now our spot for pizza in St. Joseph, MI. I mentioned this spot to a great friend who comes to St. Joes all the time and they never tried it. Visited on 2/12 for the "Fire and Ice" festival in St. Joe. We were warmly greeted at the door by a smiling hostess. She sat us at a 2-top in the back bar area which to say the least was a bit chilly; I could not take off my coat the entire time during our visit. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs; we never needed to ask for refills and she checked back to see how our pizza was a few bites into our meal to assure everything was good. The pizza was phenomenal (as always) and we didn't have to wait long at all for it. We were in and out in a little under an hour which is perfect for me. The Silver Lakes Beach Pizza on Silver Lake Park is an amazing spot for pizza lovers! It's a popular place, so expect a crowd, especially at night. We actually came by yesterday, but the line was so long we decided to return for lunch today, and it was totally worth it. We ordered a half Perugola and half Margherita pizza, and both were outstanding. The Perugola, in particular, was next-level, packed with flavor and perfectly baked. The place itself is clean and has a nice setup overlooking the park and train tracks. Service is pretty prompt considering the the fact they they are usually packed from open to close on weekend nights. Everyone is friendly and attentive. Haven't had a pizza yet that we didn't like and we are systematically trying all the the speciality pizzas and selections of the month. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The only downside is in the summer there's always going to be a long wait, it's that popular. However, you can take a leisurely stroll down to the beach and they'll text you when your table is ready.
