Disappointment. Had order delivered for $5 -- most places deliver free. Forgot chopsticks. Had large order -- egg rolls, crab puffs, shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp, shrimp and scallop chow mein, lemon fish. Chow mein was mostly noodles. Sauce for lemon fish was oily and not very lemony. Pink sauce was awful. Not much shrimp in fried rice. Much better at some other restaurants. Some reviews said portions were generous -- not really in comparison to other restaurants I've ordered from. Obviously never ordering from them again. read more

I'm new to the area and haven't eaten at other Chinese restaurants in this area.. I ordered it to go, overall it was pretty good. I had chicken curry over panfried noodles, I was disappointed because my noodles weren't pan fried(they put my panfried noodles in my husbands order). The meal was pretty good, it could have had more chicken which I'm not like a crazy meat eater and I noticed that it was lacking chicken, the vegetables were delicious and perfectly cooked to my liking.. My husband got Mongolian beef, I tried a couple bites and wasn't impressed, mostly because I've had much better Mongolian beef where we were from.. He said it was really good and he enjoyed it. Overall we were happy with the experience at Silver Dragon.. I did think some prices were a little high up there for being as Americanized as it was.. However I was very pleased with the size portion you get.. I'd say for an order in Chinese place its definitely somewhere I would order from again.. Hope this review helped :) read more

I have been eating at silver dragon did a long time, but only take out. I decided to dine in. Here's my experience: Good: food is really good, consistent, some of the best mar far chicken around, pin sauce mmm, great fried rice, and it's fast! Always had good service with orders. Bad: dining in was mediocre. The interior could use some remodel, except the ceiling which was actually very nice. Booths were old and torn (and patched with tape I think), has an old kinda warn-out feel inside, carpet was dirty and old, kinda noises inside (wasn't busy, sound just kinda seemed to amplify), dish room was noisy, and service was mediocre: first our server came to early and we asked for more time but then she passed us like 6-7 times after we had placed the menus down leaving us to kinda just looking around. The food did come very fast and she was prompt with our soups. And she did offer to box our food for us which was nice, but only after I asked for boxes. Been going to Silver Dragon since 97. The food is of plenty. It seems they have changed cooks however, as the last few times there was more alt then usual. The variety is not as good as it use to be. But it is still a very classy place. The service is excellent. I read a reviewer said it was not good the food (veggies mass chopped and slopped) in response, Medford is not Bay Area or LA where everything is at your finger tips with all Mandarins, Cantonese, and more varieties. Best potstickers in town! Always fast. The parking lot kind of sucks though. Super affordable. Great location.

Have been eating there for years and enjoying the food & service. Today and also about 3 weeks ago we went in for lunch and was very disappointed in the food. The Potstickers were very tough and it only took them 1 minute to make them. Probably microwaved them. The rest of the lunch was OK but not up to the quality it used to be. The service was also good. I guess everyone has their own Idea of what is a good Chinese food. We rate the Silver Dragon as outstanding. The food is always very hot, very fresh and tasty. (has not been sitting around for awhile like some.) We really like the chow mien, fried rice and mar far chicken. Also the barbecue pork is excellent. It is usually very clear meat with little or no gristle or extra fat - more so than most places I have been. The portions are generous - usually take some home. The service is excellent. They serve a lot of people but usually very little wait even if there are a few people waiting in the entrance room. I think they have about as much takeout as dining room meals served. We live about 5 minutes away - I can call in an order to go and it will be ready almost as soon as I get down there to pick it up. We like it! read more

The best I've tasted in the Rogue Valley. The food is not full of MSG and is cooked fresh to order. My faves: chicken moo goo gai pan and special fried rice. The "moo goo" has tons of crispy veggies not overcooked but slightly al dente with tender chicken chunks. The only seasoning I add is black pepper. Primo. The "special fried rice" could easily be a meal in itself. The rice is light and fluffy the way rice should be, not greasy and heavy. The goodies in the rice are a mix of veggies and nice size shrimp- again not overcooked. Season with some of the pink sauce & black pepper. Truly Chinese comfort food. read more

Bored with most of the food in this valley, we decided to give Silver Dragon another shot based on the two Yelp reviews. The waitresses were small-town friendly and the portions were huge. Although we're having a cold spring, it was hot inside the restaurant and very stuffy. We ordered the corn chowder to start, "good choice" beamed the server, and it was delicious. We three could not finish it. Sizzling chicken & shrimp, and two spicy choices quickly emerged from the kitchen, dry string beans and Mongolian beef. We're all suckers for watching and hearing stuff sizzling on a hot platter, and will usually order one if available. Although this one looked and sounded great, it offered little in the taste department. To its credit the dish included some great veggies, but by the time hot sauce arrived it had lost its pizzazz. The beef was tender as advertised, but overall the dish was too sweet; no match for the same dish Golden Dynasty offered under its previous ownership. Like the beef dish, the formerly frozen beans were bland with little claim to deserving a "spicy" star on the menu. The Rogue Valley is home to a handful of these Americanized chow mein joints. We deserve better imho. read more

Have been eating here for years for lack of good chinese food in Medford. But I am tired of MSG even though I always say NO when I order and being "nickel and dimed" to death. We always order the same family dinner with the same substitutions, but are always charged a different price! I placed a take out order over the phone for the Special House Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Pork, and paid an extra dollar for pork fried rice. When my husband got home with our order, they had made a mistake, so I called them right away, because it looked like Mar Far Chicken. They said, "the sweet and sour sauce was in a separate box", the smaller box, which was supposed to be the pork fried rice! I found the sauce, but it didn't look right, but it's been a few years since I ordered sweet and sour. I went ahead and served the food to the family and as we were eating it, I realized we didn't get the House Chow Mein, because it didn't have all the right ingredients. I also realized the Sweet and Sour Pork was actually LEMON CHICKEN. I had already mixed quite a bit of Chili Paste onto the chicken. After awhile I checked the food against the description on the menu and, I was right. I called them AGAIN, and she said the House Chow Mein has real fine noodles, which mine didn't. Ours was more like spaghetti noodles. I asked them to remake the order and we'll be down to pick it up. We took the original order back to them, and they had the nerve to accuse us "of bringing chicken from somewhere else and putting it in their box". They said, "it's cold too". I said, "of course it's cold it's been a couple of hours. Look at the receipt". The time on the receipt was 15:42 and it was now 17:35 They said, "you didn't get this form here". Then they accused us again of brining in food from another place. Even though it was obvious they had screwed up the order right from the start! You could tell by just looking at the noodles, plus they hadn't given me the rice either and had put a "credit in their book" the first time I had called. They absolutely refused to correct their mistake, because they said we had eaten the food. "I said, well I called you right away when we first got the food home, and you said it was correct. They refused to correct the order or compensate us in addition to accusing us of lying, and told us to GET OUT! Real nice people... read more

Typical of "Chinese" food in Medford, the dishes consist of slightly warm, slimy vegetables and low grade gristly beef. There is no atmosphere to speak of. The prices are low however - you get what you pay for. read more

Extremely poor customer service. They refused to correct an error on an order nearing one hundred dollars. They told me I could pick up the food they missed on a delivery order the next day as they were too busy to fix their mistake right now. They refused to make the food that was already paid for because they were "too busy" and hung up on me mid sentence. They als refused to refund the delivery charge when asked since our only recourse was to pick up the food the "Next Day" (REALLY!?!) We had to go down in person before they agreed to make the food that was paid for. The food is ok (if you can get it) a littly pricey for what you get. Customer service is extremely important to me and I am understanding that people make mistakes. HOWEVER when you refuse to correct that mistake and are disrespectful and rude to customers on the phone you definately do not deserve my business. read more

Came in for lunch with the family. Ordered an appetizer came out watery and greasy. It was the BBQ pork. So we sent it back, the second time it wasn't even hot. Couldn't eat it . Next our entrees came & that wasn't any better. The rice had a strange taste and smell... Have never Had it it that way from there before. Some of us had chicken & shrimp and someone else ordered pork. All four of us couldn't eat it. All plates were full of food. Only thing good about silver dragon, was the server. She was very nice & eager to please. She even tried to get the owner/manager to discount our tab or not make us pay but nope he charged our card full price. Not even an apology. Ok.. I am one to LOVE LOVE LOVE bland food.. No black pepper no salt, just the taste of the food itself.. I have tried this place a few times and refuse to go back.. Remember that I just wrote I love love love bland food? Well, I had to add a ton of that pink sauce stuff just to give it some flavor. It seems like they cook all their food first thing in the morning and let it sit all day long in some warming pan. Vegetables were mushy and everything tasted the same. Unfortunately this restaurant gets 2 thumbs down! If you want good food - try Thai Bistro - they cook up their food fresh when you order it and you can skip the seasonings because their dishes actually taste the way it's suppose to! read more

Be careful people, because this place uses MSG! After suffering from a severe reaction, I called the next morning and asked the person who answered the phone if they use MSG. She said yes, especially in the pork fried rice, the gravy for the egg foo yung, and anything that has brown sauce. After suffering from coughing, a headache, a swollen tongue, and confusion, I won't be back. I don't want to take the chance. These places should be required to say up front whether they do or do not use MSG, and at least give people choice to order without. Not the best Chinese food I've had. It was just very Americanized, bland taste, portions way too large, too much meat for authenticity, and NO PEANUT WARNING!!! Other than that service was horrible, two waitresses with only six tables going and we never got a water refill. The food was subpar and the service was ok. I'm giving it a 1 star rating instead of 2 or 3 because of the rude cashier and not helpful. I gave her 50$ for my bill that was 32.65 and she gave me 13.35 change back. I thought it was off so I went and did the math on my phone and realized I got shorted 4$ so i went back to the cashier and explained that I got the wrong change so she started counting it back out to me and said that it equaled 50 which I knew was wrong, she was adding money that she had not even gave me. Then she proceeded to take a dollar out of my hand and said there now it's right so instead of shorting me 4 she shorted me 5 at that point, so I brought it to her attention and she started getting really loud while counting the money back to me again and then realized that she was in the wrong and gave me the correct change back finally after pretty much getting yelled at in front of everyone, yet she didn't apologize or anything. Once she realized that she gave me the wrong change she got quiet and all she said was there you go bye, I would have liked a apology for her rudeness and her inconsideration but I did not. All this could be avoided if she used a calculator like a normal person would instead or relying on her subpar mental math skills. It wasn't even busy I was the only one at the register so she can't get a pass for being to busy. All in all I give it a 1/10 I'd like to take my money else where, never going there again. I suggest counting your money you get back if you do go there, but I would suggest a different place for your Chinese food. read more
