Disappointing service, ok food, recommend going to anywhere else for brunch. Obviously times are tough for the service industry given the pandemic rebound and lack of workers. So of course we were understood that it would take an hour to seat us. It's been awhile since I'd been in the restaurant but when I arrived I was surprised to see many of the tables weren't where they used to be, a covid capacity situation no doubt. So it was confusing that it took over 45 mins to be served any of our food. Our waitress didn't even check in with us during that time to let us know the kitchen might be backed up or provide any status of our meal. It also would be understandable if the waitress was visibly working multiple tables, but several times she walked past our table without any particular table she was headed to. The topper of course is that after waiting so long the meal was really just lukewarm. It's one thing if the kitchen was backed up and it was pushing out request left and right but it's obvious our food had to have sat for awhile. At this point we hadn't seen the waitress in at least 30 mins. Mind you, she wasn't the person to drop off the food to the table. Quickly trying to eat our food to get out of there, about 15-20 mins went by before the waitress even came to check on us (after our meal was dropped off) to ask how the food was, or ask if we needed anything. All in all, disappointing experience. As I said, sympathetic to the service industry because of the lack of help, but this wasn't that, this was laziness of the actual staff. It's hard to justify going out to eat at silver grill given the poor service. Won't be returning any time soon. read more

I dined at Silver Grill last Sunday because I wanted to hit up the "World's Largest Bloody Mary Bar" that Silver Grill hosted for 2 days. My boyfriend and I were going to grab a table, but the wait was super long and he had to run to work. Therefore, I picked up a book at a nearby bookstore and headed to the back counter at Silver Grill. I, of course, ordered the BYO Bloody Mary and got the citrus infused vodka. The "World's Largest Bloody Mary Bar" was HUGE! They had over 50 garnishes, lots of mixes, and spices. I'm sure it's good too! Food wise, I got the salmon eggs benedict with my breakfast potatoes well-done. The eggs benedict was decent, but nothing out of this world. The dill hollandaise could be improved upon (what is an eggs benedict without good hollandaise?). I always order my potatoes well-done, otherwise they end up super soft and potato-y. I had a cup of coffee after my meal and the coffee tasted delicious. Service was great (granted, I was at the bar) and very quick. In terms of ambiance, I would probably sit on the patio next time I come to Silver Grill, but I was alone and the bar was the fastest route of service. read more

We went to try this place out as we were exploring and taking in the sights and sounds of Fort Collins. It was past 8 am and the morning crowd have started to pile in. We were seated immediately and greeted promptly by our pleasant server. The food portions were huge; menu options were also varied. There is something for every person - whether a meat lover or strictly a vegetable eater.If you are a thrifty eater, you can still find reasonably priced menu items. The food was very good and tasted delicious. We went home with some leftovers because each serving could actually feed two people, unless you are the voracious kind and likes to eat a big breakfast. Yup sure the place is cool and it's downtown and been there for 50 years, but doesnt matter if the food is not enjoyable. Cinnamon and sticky roils are pretty good but not the best in town. Their Denver omelet has tomatoes which is not original. The peppers, onions and tomatoes all tasted like they were canned and cooked too way long and soggy a few day ago. Cheese on the top, instead of inside. Overall really a poor omelett. Hashbrowns? sketchy, have never liked them, they are too blah. They should call them home fries because that is what they are. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and it was so good, loaded with meat, eggs and cheese with a decent salsa on the side. We had stacks of glasses and empty water jugs and had to ask for him to take it away from our table. We had a bus boy walk past our table and literally look in the other direction. I like the atmosphere. I came in at 1045 on a Tuesday and it was seat yourself. I sat at the bar. Ordered a tall cafe latte (4.59). Very satisfied with that! For brunch I ordered Beer braised corned beef Benedict (10.79). They sell most items in half sizes, but I'm a big girl so I want my full serving! I did the the option was cool though. We took some good friends from the DFW area to breakfast on Sunday, and got a great table on the back patio at the Silver Grill . . . it was dy-no-mite!! Kerstin got the veggie eggs benedict (they were perfect!), John got the chicken fried chicken (great!), Peg ordered the full order of biscuits & gravy (would have enjoyed gunpowder biscuits more, but . . . ) and I ordered the trout and scrambled eggs! Ah, breakfast. I have only been to the Silver Grill once, but that was enough. The smell, ambiance and most importantly, food, was great! I enjoyed a breakfast burrito with ham, potatoes and a few veggies. It was delicious. The real stand out was the cinnamon roll. Never have I enjoyed one like I did theirs. It isn't huge, it isn't small but the flavor will blow your mind. My visit happened on a weekday in the late morning and there was no wait. I have heard tales of nightmare waits on the weekend but experienced none of it during the week. I've been coming here for over 20 years but haven't been in since the new ownership. My son and ordered a special and it was beyond disappointing. It was cold and was clearly had been sitting out for over 20 minutes. It wasn't very busy at the time and it took over a half a hour to get the food. The one bright spot of this was that the waiter was extremely nice, and when I told him about the food, it was clear to me the regression was known within the restaurant. The restaurant is big and can be loud, but it doesn't take away from the experience and the size usually helps with wait time. We have never waited more than 20 minutes... which coming from Denver, where waits are usually 45 minutes minimum for brunch was awesome. Up until this most recent visit, Silver Grill was a staple breakfast and brunch restaurant for my family and I. We've enjoyed coming here since 2016 and have always prioritize visiting over other restaurants in Fort Collins. On 4/13/24, we once again visited hoping to enjoy our experience. When we arrived, we waited a while before being seated and the host, Sydney Bogle, was not accommodating to my mom'sdisability. Since my mom has a disability, she requested to sit near the main entrance to avoid having to walk far. Sydney rudely responded, "I will tell you where you can sit." We were so shocked by her response and it ruined the rest of our experience and put a damper on the rest of our trip (my family flew in to visit). I do not know what type of training the new owners are conducting but this is not what I expected to happen. Sydney not accommodating someone, especially with a disability is unacceptable, rude, and unprofessional. I hope this review makes its way back to the owners so they know who they are employing and how long time customers are being treated. Honestly, this experience was such a disappointment we sadly won't be coming back. Additionally, Sydney took a while to seat us because she was standing behind the cinnamon counter for a while before doing her job as host. We noticed she was on her phone the entire time. read more

I really liked the pork chops and the pork gravy had a nice meatly flavor to them. I think there were pieces of pork in the gravy too. Silver Grill is my favorite breakfast spot in Fort Collins! They serve all of the breakfast dishes you could want (tasty, standard fare) and make an excellent cinnamon roll, their signature item.
