Really solid pizza & italian spot in a cool little area! I loved the margherita slice, while the plain slice was just good (without being great). It wasn't too greasy, but it might have been too dry (same with the crust). Again, the marg slice was great and so was the penne. I've come here a few times, maybe 6. The pizza and other food looks great, the staff is helpful and friendly. Always busy, a real neighborhood joint. So what's the problem? The food is always just ok. Not bad. Not something that I would never eat. But it certainly doesn't taste as good as it looks. We have always gotten stuff to go... Subs, slices, chicken parm rolls, cookies. But by the time I get home it's just bland and old tasting. We live 12 minutes away, not that far. I'm sure I'll be back, it's a convenient spot after dropping the kids off and perhaps try eating in. The stuff sure does look good though. read more

The grandma slice had really good quality mozzarella cheese on top which I appreciated. The lasagna slice had great ricotta and a nice,rich meat sauce. Brought my in laws and daughter to Silver Lake Pizza for an impromptu Monday night dinner. I saw that the grandma pie was recommended on Yelp, so I selected that to share with my daughter. We added an order of garlic knots. My mother in law got the broccoli rabe and sausage and my father in law got the chicken scarpariello. Both of their entrees came with a nice side salad. (Or pasta but they are being healthy) They were both happy with their entrees, the portions were good and it was served nice and hot. There's already something special about a pizza fresh out of the oven, not a reheated slice or a pie that's been driven across town, a fresh out of the oven pizza. This was a masterpiece of a pizza. I've had a number of different "grandma" pies over the years and this was one of the best. The thin crust made it not overly "bready", the fresh mozzarella was high quality, the San Marzano tomatoes had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, a pop of basil sealed the deal. A truly great pizza! My daughter had her slice and I kept going until the other 7 were gone. The garlic knots were also quite nice. My team and I were feeling pizza today, so I decided to treat my staff to lunch. The question then became where to order from - there are many pizzerias in White Plains, but we all wanted to try one we had not before. Silver Lake Pizza had been sitting in my bookmarks for a good while - and since they had an expansive menu we decided to order from them. I was pretty impressed with their menu selection - typical pizzeria offerings plus dedicated sections for specialty pies and grandma pies. I've really gotten into grandma pies over the last couple of years, mainly because I love thin crust pizza. I decided to order two pies - a medium (6-slice) with half pepperoni and garlic and half chicken cutlet. I also got a grandma pizza supreme which had sausage and broccoli rabe on it. The traditional pie was good - I'm a sucker for garlic so I was living my best aglio life. The crust on was slightly thicker than my personal taste, but I wasn't mad at it. The grandma pie was good too, but again the crust was slightly too thick for me. I'm used to super crispy, skinny legend crust and this was slightly soft and a smidge too thick. Toppings were generous though (on both pies) - and flavors were there. Service was great - the guy who answered the phone and took my order was very friendly and totally accommodating to my requests. Good evening all, We all know the excellent plain slice they muster up. The pepperoni chicKen cutlet is phenomenal and one of my favs out of so many. I can go on with the pizza. The craziest part is, since I eat almost all my meals there, is that the best items are top notch restaurant quality include all chicken dishes. The salmon dinner is completely out of control. The wraps are ridiculously great especially when bacon added, like the chicken Caesar. Philly cheese is tremendous. i must admit the burgers might be my favorite and that's before even adding any type of cheese or bacon. When it comes to appetizers it's the same story. Too much to mention but those zucchini sticks, fries, calamari, wings, either baked or fried also are top notch. I'm leaving out a bunch. You can't go wrong with the quality, taste, and value of the whole package. We were pleasantly surprised when he came back in 1 minute asking us if we had accidentally overpaid. Such an honest decent man. We would have never known and he had no need to come back but he did. Only gave one star because zero isn't an option. My husband called in a pizza and went to pick it up last night. He left his phone on the counter when he set the box down to pay and accidentally walked out with the pizza leaving his phone on the counter. He came home, which is a 3 min drive away, and told me he couldn't find it. I called Silver Lake and asked if he had left the phone there, if anyone had seen one or turned one in. The guy on the phone yelled out "has anyone seen a cell phone?" and told me no, there was nothing there. He clearly didn't bother to look as it was right in front of him on the counter; We tracked it and it didn't move the entire time it was there. My husband went right back and the phone was still on the counter, directly in front of and within the sight of the guy at the register. He said "this is my phone right?" and the guy just nodded. I was calling it nonstop too and they never answered to say that they had the phone in their possession. It seems they either could not be bothered to look directly in front of their faces and let me know that the phone was there, or were planning to keep the phone for themselves. So we'll never be ordering from this place again and I'll be sure to tell everyone in the area about their shady business practices. read more

Silver Lake Pizza is in my top three favorite pizzerias in the greater White Plains area. I've ordered several times, and each time the pizza has been wonderful. Their wrap sandwiches are great too; their soups are a hit or a miss, but this is a pizza shop, not a soup shop! :) Highly recommend their grandma pie, which is like a Sicilian pie, but with a thinner crust. I'm not sure which is my favorite pie--it's a toss up between the Grandma Pizza Supreme with broccoli rabe & sausage, or the Lake Street with chicken cutlet, basil, cherry peppers, tomato & onion. Within recent months, the delivery quality has gone severely down. The food quality is still good, but I had ordered twice from this place within a month and had 2 terrible experiences with delivery. ***Please note that we have ordered from them in the past multiple times, have had better delivery service, and they have our address on file. 1. A few weeks ago, I had called to order a pizza pie. When I recite my phone number they read the address back to you; that's the standard protocol at this business. I noticed it had been about an hour and the delivery car wasn't there. I get a call from the driver asking about the address (he used the name of the street). I told him what landmarks to go by. It wasn't until 10 minutes later into the call that I even thought about the possibility that the driver wasn't even in the same town as me. Turns out despite having my address, he was in a different town. Eventually got the pizza. It was his first day so I tried to not be harsh with him. 2. This was this past Friday. We ordered a pizza pie. We realize an hour and a half later that we never got the food. We call the place and say it was delivered. Turns out the driver went to the wrong apartment AND when the people there said they didn't order a pizza, the deliverer insisted they did and left! They made us a 2nd pizza without charge. It took another hour to get to us. So for that one I blame the deliverer AND the people who took the pizza. I hate knowing I live in the same building as a food thief. In short, please teach your drivers and deliverer better etiquette and please train them better. Call the people who made the order, have the address written down correctly, and DON'T give someone else's food to people who didn't order it! Thank you. read more
