We've eatten here before, but the last time was for lunch. This time we ate for dinner and if was delicious. The husband had the Cosmo's for his choice of alcholic beverages and he said they were very good. Ihad the house wine and I thought they gave me a generous portion. We both had salmon, his was the special flown in from Alaska and I had the blacken salmon which as delicious. Their clam chowder as alway is very good and doesn't change from past visits. My husband and I are tent campers, and walked into this restaurant looking like bums. They were as gracious as can be and believe me, the food was fantastic. I still dream about the great fish and chips, and the seafood fetticine. I wish I lived closer!!! The dessert was wonderful too, chocolate brownie with ice cream and drizzled with hot fudge. Wine was so wonderful, I just drank what the waiter told me, I don't know anything about wine. The waiter was helpful, and not stuffy at all. We even had a 20% off coupon from the Maritime museum that we used-not a quibble. I would go back to this great restaurant in a flash. If you find yourself in Astoria, you must go here. I walked in and the place was empty I should have taken the hint and left but I was hungry and it was 9:30pm and not much else was open . I ordered a lemon drop cocktail to start out with and the albacore plate, my husband ordered the prime rib special. The decor was really outdated. The prime rib tasted like ham and the garlic mashed potato tasted like it came from a box. My albacore was so dry I couldn't even wash it down and my veggies were cold. Not a bad place to get a seafood meal while you're in Astoria, OR. We ended up at this place because we got a 15% off coupon. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder with cheese bread (soup had decent flavor and the bread was smeared with garlic-y cheesy goodness) and the halibut fish and chips (good fry on the fish). Consistently good seafood for the most part- we've been here several times over the years. We like the chowder, oyster shooters and fish and chips. Crab melts are underwhelming. Great service. read more

Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food because we were ignored after being seated. The restaurant wasn't that busy but our waiter seemed to only be able to handle the 2 tables he was serving. There was no eye contact from him or the other wait staff or even the hostess. We felt invisible. Guess they didn't need our business. A few days ago my partner and I visited this restaurant... We walked in at 530 and there was one other table sat. The server was a little overbearing and misgendered my partner immediately. That turned the lovely dinner sour. The decor is very outdated and the food was okay, way overpriced for what you get. My partner got the crab cakes and I got the coconut prawns. She said the prawns were far more flavorful then her bland crab cakes. She said the aoli was the best thing on the plate but she didn't pay 26$ for aoli. I did have their raspberry lemon drop which was lovely! Only reason why two stars. We we're laughing the whole time wondering if we wondered into a tourist trap. 75 dollars later.... This place was great. We had our anniversary dinner here while we stayed in astoria. My filet was cooked PERFECT! App of artichokes was amazing. We got to color on the table while enjoying a bottle of wine. Service was great from host to server to bartender- they all seemed to like their job unlike a few other places we tried. The service and servers were excellent. Unique setting and the atmosphere was awesome. We just wish the food had match the service and surroundings. Coconut shrimp had no taste other than coconut. The best part was the smoked salmon crepes. The filet mignon at best tasted like a sirloin, the crab cakes lacked crab flavor and was overpowered by the chipotle aioli on them. The clam chowder had more of a cheese than a clam flavor and the cheese bread served with it was dry with an overload of garlic spread underneath the cheese. While there is neat history with the building and fun artistry from locals on the walls, overall it is overpriced and overrated. read more

Best clam chowder ever! If you get a bowl make that your meal. Super rich & tasty, it will fill you up.

Me and my husband were recommended to come here by the hotel we were staying at and it was great. The food was delicious and the waiter was super nice and knew the menu by heart. The place is a little old and has a weird smell but you get used to it once you come in. read more

The salmon special I had was a good sized portion of fish and well prepared. My plate was empty in a hurry, I really enjoyed it. A cup of the clam chowder is not to be missed (but don't tell your doctor you ate it!). The meal's cost seemed a bit high to me, but the service was good and the place comfortable and easy to find. My family of three stopped in here for lunch today while exploring Astoria. The food was perfectly delicious. The shrimp and crab melt was the best I've had for a long time. The table is covered with white paper and a cup of crayons was on the table. We got to doodle while we waited for our food. I'm glad we happened upon this little gem. read more

What a delicious surprise! Everything was wonderful- clam chowder was simply amazing, and my scallop main dish was perfect. The service was excellent and the overall vibe was lovely. My wife and I have eaten her 3 times in about 3 years. Service and hospitality, setting and location are all 4 stars. Entree is the problem. Two of the meals (fish and chips, steak) had a taste which made the meal incapable of being eaten due to a taste which is either "well aged meat" or "well aged oil". One complaint resulted in the message being sent from the manager via the waiter that "he'd seen the entree being cut, prepped" and it looked "fresh to him". I'm sorry but when a customer complains politely and the manager hasn't the balls to come out and solve the problem then, well we won't be going back EVER. We've many friends in Astoria and they'll hear from us. If you got to this restaurant there is a chance, 50% to 67% of the time, you are going to be disappointed. I would love to give them 4 stars but I can't. read more

We had the halibut fish and chips. Excellent. Three pieces were adequate.

Oysters were very small but fresh and tasty. Everything else was over-priced as well, for the flavor and quality. The service is attentive and genuine, but a bit stuffy and formal for a restaurant that boasts "casual" on the sandwich board in front sidewalk. Must check out the old bar. I recommend their very brief Happy Hour if you want to pay what the food is really worth. read more
