Silver Spoon Diner has become a wonderful little spot to grab a bite to eat after the gym or celebrate a fellow gym goer's Birthday. The place is centrally located (in the LeFrak City building) and close to Queens Center. Also a short walk from Retro, so a bunch of us come here and enjoy be it some nice brunch or lunch options. The Multi-Protein sandwich is what I normally go for - it's delicious egg whites, with turkey sausage and avocado on multi-grain toast. It was a cold and windy day. Was in the neighborhood with family and walked by the Silver Spoon Diner. The diner is located right by a parking facility. There was meter parking but very hard to find for this is a busy shopping area as well as doctor's offices. Staff was friendly and greeted you as you enter. Sign posted wait to be seated. Lots of booths and seating area. Menu selection- many items to choose from. Took a while to decide and finally went for the pancakes with sausage link and coffee. The coffee was being replenished by staff. The coffee was strong but not as strong as Starbuck's drip coffee and close to the drip coffee from Paris Baguette. Silver Spoon Diner got a good cup of Joe here. The pancakes are literally to die for. They were fluffy and warm as you take that first bite. It's one of the best pancakes that I have tasted so far. They were light and airy. Yes, I do feel it going to the hips. Yet, deserve a treat once in a while. Will be back for another round of coffee and pancakes with sausage soon. Reasonable prices. I only ordered yankee bean soup and coffee but it was excellent and the waitress was quick and friendly. Inside an ordinary diner except with a large freezer section on one wall. However, when I entered there was a large sign that said Please Wait To Be Seated. Well, I waited with my cane for more than five minutes and everyone ignored me so finally I just took a table, and when I left the same thing happened at the register until someone finally arrived. Silver Spoon has been around for years and I would say it's most accurately described as being an average diner. The menu is your traditional NYC diner fare - all day breakfast, sandwiches, meatloaf, gyros, etc. The thing that will draw people is that they have very good prices even by Queens standards. Most entrees with a side are in the $14-$16 range, which is what even a fast food meal costs nowadays. They even have lunch specials in the $10 to $12 range. We ordered a variety of food and it was okay. The portion sizes are normal and average. One of their signature items is the burger and it was also just average in size and taste. It was actually a bit dry. The place is acceptable choice if you are in a rush to find a nearby diner. If you have time to spare, you can find much better. read more

This is the perfect classic diner. They have breakfast all day, good looking lunch specials, and lots of dinner options. They have takeout and sit down. I had dinner at one of the booths and was served by a very kind gentleman. He was attentive and told me about the extra items my meal came with. I got the tortellini with broccoli and chicken. It came out piping hot and was delicious ! Saved super well for leftovers too since I didn't finish the whole thing. The cappuccino with sugar was great as well and my coconut cake I got to go was SO YUMMY. They had lots more options, I can't wait to go back and try more food ! I don't live in the area, was visiting, had just come in from the airport and was exhausted. Mike the manager, whom I've never met, said that he was about to drive home and would have the food brought up. That was so nice. Both my wife and I had the bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Not only was the dasher here considerably earlier than we were quoted, but the items were exactly what we had ordered, and the food was still considerably warm. I have passed by this diner for years and finally stopped by. I ordered the banana stack pancakes and my boyfriend ordered the 3 eggs with steak with an English muffin and a chocolate milkshake. The banana pancakes were described as cooked with banana slices and topped with banana slices. They were not cooked with banana slices and the bananas used to top the pancakes were overripe. Coffee was weak. My boyfriend's steak was tough to cut and to chew. It was also flavorless. Service was inattentive and the diner wasn't busy. Friendly service as soon as we walked in. Hostess gave my daughter's lollipops. Also a coloring page and crayons. I ordered eggs over easy with french fries, i ordered my bacon burnt literally lol he understood crispy there is a difference i don't like to eat the fat but whatever still good. My husband ordered an omelette with home fries he enjoyed it. My older daughter orders Choco loco pancakes nutella and bananas. My youngest ordered grille cheese the biggest one i ever seen lol place was clean busy two ppl were helping so i was confused who would take Oder. Really enjoyed the food at this diner. Food was served quick, on point and staff was pretty friendly. I ordered the Milano Panini and it tasted really good, maybe cause I was hungry or whatever the case, I devoured the sandwich quick and fast. My co-worker shared his garlic knots with me, which was good. The diner's menu has a wide selection of Pizzas to Burgers, sandwiches, and popular milkshakes. There's also indoor/outdoor seating, so finding a seat is an easy task. Even though the staff was friendly, they do get a bit pushy when more customers are coming in. I'm here on a work trip and our group went to lunch with a friend in NYC at his recommendation. The place was nice and clean, and the staff were friendly. While there was traditional diner fare, there was a great deal of variety, and all of it was prepared well. None of the food knocked your socks off, but I left a satisfied customer and would recommend others go there. As a group, we had a cali club, a breakfast egg combo, a panini, a grilled ham and cheese, and I think a burger. All of it good and their fries were fresh and crispy. Overall a good experience. I've been to Silver Spoon a few times now, and it's consistently a good experience. It is a classic diner from the food to the ambiance. The food tends to be on the slightly greasy side, but nothing crazy for diner food. Overall, it's pretty good food. The portions are massive, and the prices are fair for a good value. I'm also always impressed by how much variety they offer, and many of the meals give flexible options for the sides. The service is always really good here. They are very friendly, and they treat you like part of the family. Even when it gets busy, I have never felt rushed. *writing this review as I'm finishing up the last bite of the crunchy, buttery, perfectly toasted bread with my slightly greasy fingers* I was too lazy to prepare/pack lunch for the day so I ventured out to buy lunch. They have a lunch special menu where with every order you get fries, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, to name a few. I got their grilled chicken panini and side of coleslaw. And o m g. So good. As stated above the two huge slices of bread were smothered with butter and toasted to perfection (technically not panini but it was too good for me to get into technicalities. Sandwiched in between you got grilled chicken, spring mix, tomatoes, and oozy/stretchy cheddar cheeeeeese. The plan was to eat half and save the rest for dinner, but I finished the whole thing in 20 min tops. In addition to their amazing grilled chicken panini, service was snippity, snap too. Silver Spoon Diner is a cute diner located in Elmhurst/LeFrak City on 58-21 Junction BLVD, next door to LeFrak City Plaza. The staff here (so many I wonder how they pay all these folks?) is wonderful! They're always ready to lend a hand and a few seconds after you walk through the door there's a smile and "how may I help you?" The diner is sectioned off by oven baked pizza pie/pastry dept, coffee station, bakery, of course the regular dining area and a bar. There are tills at all of these sections but I'm pretty sure it's one boss/es. I prefer the outdoor area as I love people watching. So many stories pass by on the sidewalk as I take notes. I've had cuploads of cheap well tasting coffee here. I didn't enjoy the spinach pie I tried. The crust was to die for but it was absolutely filled with too much soggy spinach. I won't hold that against them because that's on me and what I like. Some folks live for that overwhelming amount of spinach. From the diners expressions the food seems to be good. Silver Spoon Diner judging from interactions between staff and customers is a community well loved staple. Even their notice board has information on deaths, births etc in the community. I really like them. Free wifi that ONLY works when you're inside, cheeky bastards. Lol. Did I mention that the staff is wonderful? I did? Well that's because they are. I'll definitely be back. This diner is not a go to diner I only come here when I have to be in this area and that's not often. I always order to go which is normally a breakfast sandwich or bagel with bacon. Which is always good. The other day I actually had the opportunity to dine in I didn't know what to expect. I ordered a Belgian Waffle with a side of home fries and crispy bacon. Yes I like to specify that I get crispy bacon. I must say everything was perfect. Customer service was great. Food was really good and the crispy bacon was perfect. I asked to be seated next to an outlet because I needed to charge my phone and that wasn't an issue at all. The diner was very clean, not to loud and noisy. My friend refers to the sign & also stated he got the same order last week & it was free. The manager/cashier said "nothing is free In this world" & begins to ridicule my friend and belittle him. He becomes this wise-ass and gave sarcastic/smart-ass comments. This is what I'm sure happened. People go in and see the digital menu as they're about to order & decide to get a breakfast sandwich w/ the included coffee. They pay & they get charged the 90 cents +tax and never notice it & leave. The fact that my friend ALREADY PAID and THEN asked for the coffee angered the guy off that his was going to actually be included, & gets smart with him. This is how you scam people. For breakfast I always order their gingerbread latte and the veggie sausage, sunny side up eggs, mozzarella cheese on a roll with salt pepper & ketchup. It is SO good!! For dinner I get their amazing fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Yum Just writing this is making me hungry again Thank god that they're still doing deliveries and take out during this time! Started off with bowl of cream of turkey soup and that was delicious with nice chunks of turkey visible. Side salad was typical nothing special although vegetables were nice and fresh. This is only my second visit ever to the place but my first dine in experience. Portion Size: Overly generous. My 4 year old had a donut that was roughly the size of his face. Obviously, there will be no more sugar intake today for him. I ordered the three egg platter with sausage links. I'm pretty sure my links were deep fried. I also was given home fries which took up half the plate and toast with butter on the side. My bad on that bit as I should have told them to hold the gluten. My brother had the pancake plate with turkey sausage links. That was oddly sliced in half. We were given a bottle of cranberry juice and a carton of orange juice and a cup of apple juice - all the same price. We all agree that the food was decent. The home fries are intentionally left bland so you can season it the way you like and I did. It needed salt and pepper to liven it up. All in all, I spent roughly $28 before tip on food for three with drinks. I'm return again. Last time I was here, I had a coffee and that was delicious. We ordered via slice (their preferred online pickup option), and we got a grilled cheese sandwich, a melanzana panini, and a slice of strawberry shortcake. The grilled cheese was good, and my husband enjoyed his panini, but the shortcake left a lot to be desired. It was dry and the strawberries were dipped in something that made them taste medicinal. The other issue I had was that they never updated the app to tell me whether or not my food was ready or when it would be ready. I ended up calling the restaurant when I was walking there way (20 minutes before it said the order would be ready), and they said they were already working on it. When I got there, the food had been ready. Had I waited until the time listed, my food would definitely have been completely cold.
