Silver Spoon has been around for years and I would say it's most accurately described as being an average diner. The menu is your traditional NYC diner fare - all day breakfast, sandwiches, meatloaf, gyros, etc. The thing that will draw people is that they have very good prices even by Queens standards. Most entrees with a side are in the $14-$16 range, which is what even a fast food meal costs nowadays. They even have lunch specials in the $10 to $12 range. We ordered a variety of food and it was okay. The portion sizes are normal and average. One of their signature items is the burger and it was also just average in size and taste. It was actually a bit dry. The place is acceptable choice if you are in a rush to find a nearby diner. If you have time to spare, you can find much better.

Found a hair inside my tartar sauce.... That's absolutely disgusting!

The food is pretty pricey even from many years back and now that a lot of things have gone up even more so. That being said, you can still find some good deals without having felt like it's over charged.

Friendly service as soon as we walked in. Hostess gave my daughter's lollipops. Also a coloring page and crayons. I ordered eggs over easy with french fries, i ordered my bacon burnt literally lol he understood crispy there is a difference i don't like to eat the fat but whatever still good. My husband ordered an omelette with home fries he enjoyed it. My older daughter orders Choco loco pancakes nutella and bananas. My youngest ordered grille cheese the biggest one i ever seen lol place was clean busy two ppl were helping so i was confused who would take Oder. Finally the man did but he was like rushing us sort of, i mean i know he was busy but we did wait almost 10 minutes to order and did not complain. That's the only reason for the 4 stars.

Fantastic food, outdated food/product dates putting lives at risk. I give this a decent rating because the food is fantastic, but finding out that at least one if not many of their ingredients are out of date are being served to the public and worse. I worry.

Really enjoyed the food at this diner. Food was served quick, on point and staff was pretty friendly. I ordered the Milano Panini and it tasted really good, maybe cause I was hungry or whatever the case, I devoured the sandwich quick and fast. My co-worker shared his garlic knots with me, which was good. The diner's menu has a wide selection of Pizzas to Burgers, sandwiches, and popular milkshakes. There's also indoor/outdoor seating, so finding a seat is an easy task. Even though the staff was friendly, they do get a bit pushy when more customers are coming in. Overall, great diner spot

Terrific diner serving up good portions of tasty food. Great service and owner. My running club and I hit it up for breakfast and drinks after today's NYRR Queens 10K. Did not disappoint and they easily accommodated our large group.

I've been to Silver Spoon a few times now, and it's consistently a good experience. It is a classic diner from the food to the ambiance. The food tends to be on the slightly greasy side, but nothing crazy for diner food. Overall, it's pretty good food. The portions are massive, and the prices are fair for a good value. I'm also always impressed by how much variety they offer, and many of the meals give flexible options for the sides. The service is always really good here. They are very friendly, and they treat you like part of the family. Even when it gets busy, I have never felt rushed. I would recommend making a stop by for brunch if you find yourself in the area.

*writing this review as I'm finishing up the last bite of the crunchy, buttery, perfectly toasted bread with my slightly greasy fingers* I was too lazy to prepare/pack lunch for the day so I ventured out to buy lunch. They have a lunch special menu where with every order you get fries, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, to name a few. I got their grilled chicken panini and side of coleslaw. And o m g. So good. As stated above the two huge slices of bread were smothered with butter and toasted to perfection (technically not panini but it was too good for me to get into technicalities. Sandwiched in between you got grilled chicken, spring mix, tomatoes, and oozy/stretchy cheddar cheeeeeese. The plan was to eat half and save the rest for dinner, but I finished the whole thing in 20 min tops. In addition to their amazing grilled chicken panini, service was snippity, snap too. I ordered at the front cashier and was out the door with my bag of yummy goodness in less than 15 min. Definitely found my go to spot for lunch!

How is their delivery? I was thinking of ordering a burger using Grubhub, but sometimes food arrives cold with delivery, even though I'm not more than 5 - 7 minutes away.

You should assume that delivery from any restaurant will not be very hot. Delivery times from any service average 35-50 minutes; the distance from your location is not relevant as the delivery is handled by a third party like Grubhub and ubereats.…

The staff at reception and at the table were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Food-wise, we tried the Kung Pao calamari and wagyu meatballs after seeing other reviewers rave about them, but both felt a little gimmicky to me. Our group mostly stuck with more traditional brunch items, including breakfast burritos and omelettes, and those were fine. Overall, I would not necessarily come here just for the food, but I would recommend it for the atmosphere, service, and special-occasion vibe. It is a great spot if you want a pretty setting, good hospitality, and plenty of photo-friendly areas.

Cozy but not cramped, cute little spot that's great for Summer relaxed vibes and munchies. They're specialized in Latino food and drink. They apparently have a whole flight of Margaritas and/or Mojitos to sample - I'd love to try one sometime, however yesterday I stuck with a regular Margarita and was pretty pleased. Clearly made in-house, none of the store-bought drink mixes or anything involved. My mom and I split a few appetizers between the two of us and were quite full, even had some food to bring home. Went with the birria tacos (solid), a trio of other tacos (steak + chicken + pork), and a plate of fried plantains with beef and mushrooms that was really fun - first time we'd had that, glad the waitress talked us into it. Everything came with home-made guac as well. They have a full bar with quite the selection of drinks, lots of Happy Hour specials up on the walls, and a solid, straightforward menu of additional appetizers and also burgers and sandwiches. The staff are super nice and upbeat. My Ma was buying, and I believe she spent about $85 for 3+ appetizers and a drink. Not exactly cheap but it you think of it more as a filling and fairly tasty lunch for 2, roughly $40 each - it's not bad at all. Will definitely come back and give that flight of Margs a try!

While that may rank as a relatively mid-tier title by NYC standards, as the neighborhood restaurant average is sadly and shockingly low, especially considering its location in the literally center Queens, this is nonetheless a very special neighborhood treasure, befitting it's stalwart status at now over 30 years of age. Classic Italian American with some New American flourishes, the place stays consistent and honors its tradition while simultaneously managing to keep things fresh and staying up with the times. The pizzas are well-executed and make great use of the gorgeous wood burning oven, but for me it's almost impossible to order anything else but my go-to order, one of the house specialties the classic Cavatelli with broccoli raab and some particularly pungent hot Italian sausage. A modern day classic in the cannon, finding decent versions around the city is tougher than one might imagine, particularly in my experiences in this borough. The version here, served like the rest of the offerings in an extremely generous portion that usually yields some delicious leftovers to take home, is a strong contender for the best in the borough title. Also of particular note is the exemplary super-thin and savory chicken parm, served in the previous era in various forms including with spaghetti and broccoli, as well as with risotto, currently served smothered with a spicy vodka sauce and paired with rigatoni. I've only recently became aquatinted with the rich and unctuous dry-aged burger, served simply and unadorned save for American and sharp raw union, on a classic and proper sesame seed bun, it's a stealth under-the radar competitor for the best burger in the hood nod with previous title-holder Dirty-Pierres. The expansive, two-room space, an ideal setting for the many private events and family gatherings that regularly occur here is aptly bright and inviting with the aforementioned pizza oven serving as its centerpiece. I generally sit at the bar which offers ample opportunity to converse with the top-notch staff, just as genial and affable as you would hope to find in such a longtime neighborhood institution, as well as the fellow patrons, who are, more often then not, you guessed it, longtime local resident regulars.
