The food is good. The concern is some of the employees wear masks, some don't. The daytime manager sets an awful example! He coughs out! He talks and spit flies from his mouth! He's unmasked! The food was good, the service not so much. Our waitress was very loud and pushy. That is certainly not something you should encounter when going to a diner. When we were getting ready to leave, I had a 10 dollar bill and I asked if she had 2 five-dollar bills. She reminded me that the tip is 18 percent. How incredibly tacky for her to say especially since the service she provided was nothing great. My wife and I ate breakfast here and we enjoyed it so much that we are back again. The pancakes are light, fluffy and generously large! The eggs, bacon and homestyle breakfast potatoes are delicious, and reasonably priced. It is clean and nicer than most diners in the area. I think the price vs. quality is also the best in the area. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because it is also a store. That is not a problem for me, but could be for some people. It is not 100% diner. My first time ever in this diner and I had the worst dining experience. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger and received old dry and over cooked bacon. I literally took a single bite and almost cut my mouth because of how hard the bacon was. I only ate the fries and pushed the rest away. The waiter never came to check on how the food was so towards the end of everything when I mentioned how disgusting it was and he saw that there was so much food left he said that I should have said something to him so I could ask for something else, like it was my responsibility to flag him down and he never circled back to check on us. My second visit I ordered CHICKEN TERIYAKI and it comes with mushrooms and yellow rice. I absolutely regret ordering this plate just because I did not like the taste. It was different and I know that plate might not be their specialty but the taste was no where near as any other chicken teriyaki I have ever had. HOWEVER, if you are willing to give this plate a try, what I can say is that they give you a good portion for the $8 you're paying for. The person I came with ordered FISH AND CHIPS. I was so jealous. I did try the fish and I can say it was sooooo delicious!!! So crispy and a great moist savory taste of fish. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The menu says that coffee or hot chocolate is included!! Included: contained as part of a whole being considered When going to this dirty restaurant I was told that it's not included(although the menu says it in the screens). When asked to speak with the manager he refused to come outside. The customer service in this restaurant is trash!! And everyone should know. Son of the owner was completely unprofessional and will laugh in your face if you ask for the coffee that is suppose to come with your meal. I do not recommend this place!!!!!! Yesterday was my first time at Silver spoon diner. Me and my friend have passed there. Plenty of times when we do a Costco run, which is only two blocks away. We have always had the curiosity to go there, but tend to forget that it's there because it's in the middle of the block kind of hidden next to the post office. But I do have to say that I was highly highly unexpected and what happened and how the food was there when we went for breakfast. Me and my friend got breakfast. I had the three a platter with turkey bacon and corn beef hash my friend had the breakfast with pancakes and a side of corn beef hash. The platters are actually a really good price and value in terms of size for what you're paying and getting the only thing that was a little surprising to us. It was the size of the corn beef hash, which is almost 6 dollars for a side of it and when you get it, it is really small. But the fact of the matter is that it is home made corn beef hash so it was the best corn beef hash I have had in a really really long time you can taste the real corn beef and not process canned corn beef hash. I have gone to many diners in the area of Queens, and this by far took the number one spot of corn beef hash especially when it's really hot it taste so good That has alone made it even more amazing. The staff is wonderful very attentive and it's clean so I highly recommend this place. If you go for breakfast try the corn beef hash I haven't tried everything else, but just on breakfast alone it made my day it was satisfying and they are very quick service. They're very friendly, so please please give it a chance. I am looking forward to going there again and even trying something new I see they do have a lot of pieces I'm curious about that so if you're in the area, queen, center mall or the Rego Park Center look for this diner, you won't be disappointed. read more

They have a lot of food options. I was around the corner from the USPS & was feeling dehydrated & hungry. I tried to see what I can order for drinks but no one came to ask what I wanted? I waited for a long time & nobody seemed to care. I went to talk to someone and they told me to order "over there," I went over there and no one was there. So strange. Usually businesses are more than pushy and diligent in taking an order. Here it seemed like nobody cared, nobody was in a rush. I waltzed around for about 10 minutes looking at what they had and then had to leave because I was feeling faint. I hadn't had breakfast and it was around 1pm so I don't know what's up. I believe this was called Silver Spoon Diner a while back, but then it changed to Food Court for some reason. Maybe it was a change of ownership, but I'm not sure.... In general, the guys there have been pretty nice and they deliver promptly... In regards to the food, I can't really say I've been all that impressed. Yesterday i ordered a meatball parm. and it wasn't that tasty in my opinion.... Summary: Even though i didn't like my meatball parm., there's plenty of things to order and you'll just have to try them out for yourself. I can only give them 3 stars for good service and variety. It's hard to give this place any more stars when Georgia Diner is very close by with parking and serious 5 star grub. read more

This place is great for take out or dining in. The only drawback is that the decor needs a bit of an update. Their pancakes are very tasty. I would definitely recommend the pancakes if you're stopping in for breakfast. The pizza is always a good choice in the afternoon. The menu is extensive. Service was ok from our server, but we witnessed another server yelling at an elderly couple because they didn't wait to be seated, I get it people have to wait, but there was no wait and no line, plus they clearly needed help moving around so they just wanted to sit down, also food was really tasteless the turkey panini I ordered was really dry with really salty bread. I've tried 3x to order a bacon egg and cheese with salt pepper and ketchup. All 3 times I've opened up my sandwich in front of the manager or expeditor and told him they didn't put anything inside. Today was the last of it, he came back and told me his cook showed him the ketchup inside the sandwich but 5 seconds before I opened and there was nothing there. No way am I ever coming back here. Groceries vs dine-out, is price difference and knowing what you're swallowing is trust worthy because you made it. For inexpensive-expensive take outs all you need is care, well put together good tasting food to get you through the day. Big improvement, food delivered quickly and packets of ketchup were a yum to compliment my cheeseburger and fries. Must give it a try if in the hood or ordering, make sure to tip the guys. The only few lacking things are; a complicated menu (way too many items-no established trade mark {bun doesn't count} yup), portions are too big I never finish what I order (way to save some cash with better portions for restaurant). read more

I am constantly calling this restaurant about something they missed on my delivery order. The last time I called, which happened to be today, they tried to tell me they never charged me for one of the orders. I was insulted. I have the receipt and was clearly charged for everything that I ordered...and I gave a more than reasonable tip for an order that was not fulfilled....once again. So the manager says he will send the missing food item again in less than 30 minutes. Its over an hour. I'm still waiting. I ordered -rotisserie chicken with broccoli & coleslaw -split pea soup -diet coke I'll be honest...so much chicken there's still a leg and thigh left (I ordered a half). The chicken was very juicy, good "American" flavor. We prefer our stuff a little over cooked and a little spicier (not heat, genuine seasoning). The coleslaw was SUPERB. Didn't have that "aged cabbage taste". As far as the soup, it's cooling in the fridge. Didn't have enough room for it. The coke was cold. It may seem like a moot point, but anyone who's ever ordered drinks and have them arrive warm (WING LEE KITCHEN!!!! I came to pick up an order from this place but had a bottle of water in my hand that I previously bought from the supermarket. So while I was paying for my order, the waiter (Mario, if he gave me his correct name) asked me " what about the water? " I tell him, " oh, I bought it from the supermarket? " then he goes " are you sure?...where's your receipt? " with an unpleasant tone. She told me that she spoke to him and it was a misunderstanding...but how was this a misunderstanding? Lol. She then said Mario said he asked me if I wanted my receipt and I took it the wrong way. I wonder why he switched up his story? I asked the manager, why would someone walk in here and pay for their order but are willing to steal water? She then goes "well don't say that because they steal my Christmas decorations all the time, "....???? I don't advise ANYONE to eat or spend their $ at this establishment! Especially if they are black. This is ridiculous. If you've ever had a similar experience at this diner where you felt discriminated against, please speak out against them. There is a high level of inaccuracies on delivery orders in spite of the fact I make him repeat the order. They have changed the sausage from sliced to crumbled in the pasta with garlic and broccoli. It does not taste as good and it upsets my stomach. They do not cook grilled chicken to order so it is dry in the pasta with garlic and broccoli and salads. The same goes for chicken Marsala. It's like they just grill up a bunch of breasts and let them sit until needed. They do have good breakfasts. read more

However on many occasions I have witnessed an older female with black straight hair with glasses working at the counter taking orders be so rude to people. I have heard her yell at people in person and on the phone. God forbid you ask to have something changed in your order. She would literally scold you and yell, "that's how it comes." This place is growing on me! I can't believe we haven't tried this diner in all the years we've been in this neighborhood. It's your typical diner with a variety of choices. Pizza on your left when you walk in, bakery and breakfast items on your right. You get seated in the back where the booths and tables are and there are plenty of seats. Service is good, quick and friendly. My husband especially loves that when he tailors his order, they get it right. The chicken sandwich here is made really well. The scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries with toast is good and always on point. Well-seasoned home fries and love their toast. They give lots of bacon! The bread comes out perfectly hot and soft, with soft butter...it's always the little things that makes us enjoy our meal! Now we don't have to go as far as Georgia or Tower diner in the area because Silver Spoon does a pretty good job of giving us the diner experience. read more

This is by far the worst diner I've ordered from. While the pancakes and waffle were large, when they arrived to my house everything was soggy. We ordered two 3 cheese omelettes which were soupy, made with one egg and American cheese. The bacon also was soggy and very high in sodium, placed in the same container as the eggs so it was soggy bacon soup. As if the food we got wasn't bad enough, this is the first diner to not send any kind of home fries, toast etc with each breakfast order. That was $28 that we threw most of in the trash because not even the kids wanted to eat it. I'm extremely disappointed given that other diners in the area are very good and give great service. read more
