    Crispy Curry Noodles
    Ali B.

Was totally craving Thai food and this was convenient for delivery plus a ton of options! Ordered through their website and it was super easy, delivered on time. My sister got pad see ewe, my brother in law got kana moo krab, and I got the crispy noodle curry with tofu and veggies, and seaweed salad to share. I got medium spice for my curry noodles, and while it could've been a little spicier, it was so flavorful that I didn't mind! I never had a crispy noodle dish like that, it was so interesting and delicious! Loved that it was packed with delicious tofu as well. The salad was super fresh and a great balance to the curry! A little on the expensive side but big portions and we had leftovers, plus everyone was super pleased with their meals! I'll have to order again sometime when I'm in town!

I like spicy food but Red Curry was so hot that I couldn't eat it. The papaya salad was limp and soaked with some different than normal extremely hot dressing that I also couldn't eat. I never write reviews. Don't waste your money!

Lunch special Spicy Drunken Noodles Spring Rolls
    June K.

The lunch special is great, i chose the chicken drunken noodles and spring roll. Didn't skimp on the meat and good ratio of veggies and noodles as well. That being said... bit bland, esp for thai food. Medium was also not spicy enough. Something was just missing... Spring roll was different than the clear rice wrap i'm used to but it was still tasty with the plum sauce! Maybe they cater towards a different audience, but I would not come again

    Pad kee mao

I ordered takeout. I thought the pad kee mao was sort of dry and wish there was more of a sauce element to it. The spice level was correct, but I also thought the dish itself was too oily.

The food here is delicious, especially the curries and basil fried rice. However, the service is slow and the ambiance is a bit dull. The staff is not very friendly either.

I've had trouble finding good Thai food in the city, and when I saw this was next to the Thai consulate, I thought it would be better Pad see ew - 1/5... flavor was not there. A lot of the noodles were short and broken. And there was no egg in it. A greasy bowl of bell pepper flavored noodles. massman curry - 3/5 ... flavor was better but weirdly sour ...and it was just a bowl of tofu. There was one potato cube and a few onion flecks.

Did to-go. Picked up my self. Food was okay. Slightly fishy taste at the end for some reason. Dumplings had no flavor. Curry noodles had lots of flavor. Nice people there.

Red curry & basil fried rice & tom yum soup

When you walk into Silver Spoon, you are welcomed with an ethnic and cultural ambiance of what a Thai restaurant should be. Dined in on a Monday evening, service was great, however there weren't many others dining in. Take out and third party delivery was booming with non-stop orders. I have dined here before on a busy night and service does struggle due to very few front end staff, but they do their best. You sit down and order, water and food is brought to you. Ordered the Red Curry w/ chicken (opted for spicy), basil fried rice w/ chicken (opted for spicy), tom yum soup veggie (opted for spicy), Asian fried wings. Just wow, the red curry and basil fried rice, an easy 11/10. So much flavor and consistency is great. By far the two best menu items they offer! I would recommend without hesitation. The chicken is tender, appears to be white meat breast, thinly cut. For someone that's very picky with their chicken, this place doesn't miss! Tom Yum soup was great. However a lot of veggies so be mindful if you don't like veggies, but the spicy and flavor on point! I did not order the wings for myself but was told they were also great. They did come out 20 mins after all of the other food so order mindfully! But they were hot and crispy! This place is busy for a reason! But order my recommendations, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered delivery and service was quick and food was amazing, everything was still warm when we received it. We had the orange chicken, pad Thai and red curry. 10/10 all around!! Silver spoon does not miss, their green curry is also to die for!

    Pad See Ew
    Damiana D.

Very disappointed with my order. I placed an Uber Eats order for Tom Yum and Pad See Ew and called the restaurant to request extra sauce and added spice since there was no option to do so on the app. The person on the phone assured me they could accommodate the request. However, the noodles arrived completely bland, with no extra sauce--just three packets of soy sauce on the side and two small containers of chili peppers in vinegar. The Tom Yum was decent, but overall, the meal did not meet expectations.

    Burnt Gai Tod
    Laila L.

This used to be my go to spot for Thai food since it's in the neighborhood. I came in last Sunday around 3:30 pm to order food to go. I figured I had missed the lunch rush and wanted to get there before the dinner crowd but they were pretty busy when I got there. After ordering my food, I waited a long time. Others that were seated after I ordered had gotten their food. When mine finally arrived, I came home to find they had burnt my gai tod to almost a crisp! YUCK! Also, could tell the sticky rice had been reheated many times as they weren't heated evenly. I had to pick and throw out the hard parts. The drunken noodles were the only saving grace to my meal.

    Chicken Pad Thai
    Katie O.

A hidden gem in River North across from the Thai Consulate. They have an extensive menu, but we ordered chicken pad Thai and had enough for lunch the next day. Online ordering is fast and easy and was ready on time. Service when we picked up was friendly and fast. The dining room seemed tidy and small. We just walked in, it would be nice if the to go pickup was at the front of the restaurant so we didn't have to walk through the dining room to pick up our food.

The vibe is speakeasy-ish; the entrance is off the street in an alleyway but the interior is very nice, low light, and would be fun for a date night! The staff were attentive and very friendly. My friend got some shots, which were surprisingly good given they were kind of sweet, and I ordered the "mystic lamp" cocktail ($16) which was VERY memorable to me as someone that loves floral drinks -- it was very floral, slightly fruity, and had a lovely chunk of lychee it came with which was delicious! The drink was decent sized too; I've been charged a lot more for much less drink at other speakeasies (those of which I don't plan to visit again any time soon haha). In my opinion, this spot has the perfect combo of great drinks, nice ambiance, cool speakeasy-vibes, but also cheerfulness given the tiki-theme inside. Would definitely rec a visit to anyone visiting Chicago who likes cool bars!

I was excited for the experience having heard how busy it gets, blah blah. These positive reviewers need to seek out other tiki bars. After you negotiate the alley entrance and go down dangerously dark stairs, you are met with crazy boring decor. I kept thinking there had to be more right? The whole point of a tiki bar is to strike a mood, but hanging a very few polynesian masks on the wall, putting up a grass facade over the bar and dressing the servers in vaguely polynesian outfits is sad. I've seen private tiki bars at people's homes that are more exciting. Add to this a comparably boring music selection played far too loud over boomy lo-fi speakers and you'll wonder what's going on here. So what about the food and drink? Completely uninspired for anyone who's had more than a mai tai before in their life. About a dozen extremely common drink choices is all you get!! No specials, that's it. When I asked if this was the whole cocktail menu, the server said it was but they have a full bar so you can get anything you want. Well, I could get that service at just about any bar in the world, so big deal. Maybe it would be better if you sat at the bar and chatted up the bartender. One could also go taste their rum selections and other cocktails in the Bamboo Room, but I hate that kind of elitist nonsense. That's never been what tiki bars were about. The drinks we sampled were okay at best. Even the namesake 3 Dots and A Dash cocktail was lackluster and used cheap cherries for the dots instead of classic Luxardos. (If you know, you know) The appetizers were okay, but way overpriced. 5 tiny spring rolls for $18. Come on guys, enough already. I'd rather go to the bar at the Polynesian Hotel at Disney than return here. This place is a hard pass.

The evening started off wonderfully. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food absolutely delivered. The Wagyu Crispy Rice remains a 10/10 and is worth ordering every single time. We also shared the fried chicken and pork belly bao buns, which my husband and our friends couldn't stop talking about. Everyone loved their meals, and we left completely stuffed. Unfortunately, one interaction put a damper on an otherwise great dinner. My husband has had a white fish allergy for 32 years. He can safely eat certain fish like tuna, salmon, and trout, so he usually has limited sushi options but still enjoys it. He ordered what appeared to be a safe roll, but after the first bite realized it contained masago. We asked what type of fish their masago comes from, and the server confirmed it was from a white fish. Thankfully, he noticed immediately and didn't have a reaction. The server did offer to have the roll remade, which we appreciated. However, before doing so, she repeatedly told us that she and the chef "think all fish are white," implying that his allergy didn't really make sense. Hearing that several times felt dismissive of a very real allergy he's managed his entire life. Food allergies aren't something anyone should have to defend while dining out. To end the meal, they kindly brought out The Ridiculous dessert and the coconut cheesecake for my husband's birthday, and both were delicious. However, the moment was a bit overshadowed when the server mentioned, "We normally don't give these as birthday desserts, but because of what happened, we did." While I'm sure it wasn't intended that way, it came across as passive-aggressive rather than hospitable. Overall, the food was outstanding and absolutely lives up to Sunda's reputation. I'd happily return for the Wagyu Crispy Rice and everything else we tried. My only criticism is that a little more sensitivity and understanding around food allergies--and a bit more tact in how situations are communicated--would have made an excellent dining experience truly exceptional.

The restaurant wasn't busy at 7pm on Sunday. We ordered a few drinks, a few different dishes, and an entry from the kids' menu. We quickly received our drinks, which were delicious and exciting. A balanced drink containing tamarind? Come on! We then got our first dish, the Wagyu crispy rice. Amazing. Delicious. Then our sushi came out. Also great! Then Adobe fried rice with pork belly. Super satisfying! But then... a total stall. We hadn't yet received our edamame or our chicken entree. Our server asked if we wanted the check. At that point, our food had time to sit and no one was hungry. So our server asked if we were ready for the check. Sure. Our check arrived at the same time our chicken dish showed up. And still no edamame, which was an appetizer. We were also given another table's bill, which was totally different than ours and showed a credit for something and a zero balance. It was fixed, and we ended up paying our $50ish per person with the only adjustment being that we didn't pay for the edamame we never received. Obvious disconnect between the kitchen and service. But the food we did receive was exceptional. Drinks were novel and playful. But forgetting food and a weird service pace really diminished the overall elegance of Sunda. I feel like we drastically overpaid for the dining experience. We are on a family vacation, so instead of memories of a great meal we instead have a story of that messed up service and the weirdness that surrounded.

We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. The bathroom took my a second to find, which should have been intuitive considering it was on the opposite end of where you come in. I blame the lighting as things are already pretty hard to find in the dark, but eventually I made it there-Pat myself on the back.
