This place provides bad food, and TERRIBLE customer service. I guess the only reason they are still in business is because they are the only thai place in redmond ridge area. Food - we ordered 3 dishes. they messed up 2 out of the 3 dishes (messed up both the rice dishes). When i called, they said it is because they mix white and brown rice (what? who asked you to mix it, without even telling your customer). It was a take-out order, and the only way they would fix it is for me to drive all the way back and show them the food. When i went back, they opened both the boxes, and said either they can remake it or refund. At this point, i was too exhausted to wait, so asked them to just refund. They had the audacity of refunding me the full price, and then AGAIN CHARGE me for the one dish that i did not bring back. So much for making me drive back. They couldnt even make up for it with a sincere apology - only thing they said is that this is a "policy". Avoid this - better drive 10 more mins down the hill and get better quality food from elsewhere! read more

I don't ever do this so you know it wasn't good. This review is on the customer service. I work 2 blocks from Silver Spoon and order from here often for lunch meetings. I also live very close and enjoy Dinner here often. Today was not the best service. I ordered the Red Curry Lunch special with No Bell Peppers, as I am allergic to them and let them know. The first dish comes out she says no peppers. I dump the curry over my rice and at the bottom a big piece of bell pepper. I flag her down and show her and she looks at me as if I pulled it out of my pocket and put it on the plate. She takes it back. Brings me another one and says proudly NO PEPPERS!! I dump it over my rice and guess what? Yup, another pepper hiding at the bottom like the first one. so I walk inside and she asks what wrong I show her and she actually looked at me like I did something wrong. I sat it on the counter and walked back outside where we were sitting. She comes out and says ok we are making a new batch with out Bell Peppers. I siad ok, I am allergic to them so picking them out of the previous sauce was not ok anyway. I had assumed they did this from the start. Never once apologized for this happening not once but twice!!! After I finally get my food and I eat as my friend is sitting there waiting while her foood is getting cold. Then original waiter comes out to bring the bill, he is not the one who was "taking care of" the messed up meal, he sets the bill down and says we will take care of the pop for you since we made mistake on your food. REALL?? I said the pop was great I will take care of that, you can take care of the food. He said oh you don't want to pay for your lunch? Nope, I do not. So he went and took it off the bill. I am not sure what happened to the customer service today, but I am not very impressed with the treatment I got after giving them so much business both at work and on my personal time. I bought discounted vouchers on Groupon. Upon my arrival, I was told vouchers can be used for Dine In only. The waiter was a little upset when he found out I was going to use a Groupon voucher. Terrible service the entire time. If you tell them you plan to use a Groupon voucher, they make your portions smaller. So don't tell them until you pay. Will never come to this restaurant again. Crushed - we've lost a local restaurant. We've been coming here since it opened on the Ridge (10+ years?) and I can't see us ever going back. Treated like dirt, misled (oh, let's just call it lied to), and only offered some sort of half-hearted response after I told them "good bye for good". Again, we've been eating there for 10 years and it has been a while since a request for mild hasn't been met (but yes, they have messed up a few times). However, being told today that "they are correct, it is mild, my taste buds are at fault".... complete lack of customer service. And to be told there is no manager when I call, but after 3 minutes of arguing with me, I get transferred to her "supervisor" (I'm told I didn't ask for a supervisor, I asked for a manager). The supervisor tells me I'm wrong, then at the end of the call offers to make me a new "mild". That should have happened 5 minutes earlier. And still no acknowledgement that "just maybe" the kitchen messed up. End result, no desire to have a "spit enhanced" replacement meal, nor to frequent them again. If you like being treated like crap if you've got a complaint.... give them a try. read more

I have been a regular at Silver spoon. I have noticed that quality has slipped over time. Last night we went there for a little celebration and ordered food. I ordered curry and it came out with only tofu and green pepper and not much of it. The sauce and rice were good. The service could be characterized as they were doing us us a favor by serving us. DO NOT ORDER TO GO! They will not get your order correct nine out of ten times. And they won't fix the problem (issue refund or deliver the missing items) without you driving all the way back, which pretty much negates your 'to go' order. The food is okay, but nowhere near as good as it used to be when they opened and for years afterwards. I put up with the inaccuracies for years when the food was great, but it's not good enough any more. I don't want raw chopped garlic, or dry chili powders put on the chicken as a garnish. After a long day of skiing, we brought our 4 kids- ranging in age from 7-14 here. We were so happily surprised at their kids meals. They are very large and very reasonably priced! Then my husband and I ordered pot stickers, Tom Ka soup, pineapple fried rice with shrimp and panang curry with beef. Everything was incredible! We first ate at Silver Spoon soon after they opened. Despite the 10 mile drive from our home, we eat there at least once a month. This is everything the other reviewers have noted - and they have live music most weekend evenings. As one who has lived and worked in SE Asia for many years, this comes closer to what I expect from a Thai restaurant than any of the others in this area that I've tried. The food is excellent, the service impeccable, the ambiance perfect. Whether it's for a date or a family outing, this is a great place to go. Special things to try: Appetizer #11 (the spinach leaves), any of the hot teas, #42 Garlic, and any of the house specials. The only downside (if there is one) is the satay pieces are much bigger than what you get in Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia, so the seasoning doesn't go all the way through. read more

I'll start this out by saying that I used to love Silver Spoon. The food was excellent and the servers were attentive and quite nice. The Good: - Atmosphere - Service - Live Music (occasionally) The Bad: - Food I'm not sure what happened recently - new chefs, new recipes, new management - something changed the food quality for the worse. Ultimately it comes down to a lack of consistency in the food. Every once in a while the meal is prepared just right, but usually the chicken is dry, the noodles are either overcooked or undercooked, the sauces are too thin, and the flavor is off. The Ugly: I recently ordered the Tom Kha soup. Worst Tom Kha soup I've had from any of the Thai places I've been to - and I've been to several. The soup was way too sweet and had too much onion and galangal. My stomach was sick within 20 minutes. Upon contacting the management, I was assured that the recipe and ingredients hadn't changed. At least they apologized for my experience. Bottom Line: If you come here regularly and have found some dishes that they consistently prepare well, stick with those. However, if you're looking for good Thai places to start coming to or to bring friends to, wait for yelp reviews to say that the food has improved or order only the food favorites from reviews - everything else about the restaurant is great. It's a shame for such an lovely restaurant to start serving poor-quality food. read more

Eaten here for years - they're amazing! They've switched chefs a few times I think, because the spice levels are all over the place sometimes. But to be honest that makes it more fun and its nothing a little red chili flakes at home can't fix. Their curries are my favorite, as well as their Thai Basil dish. One thing I notice at so many Thai restaurants is that the Pad Thai is super noodle-heavy and you hardly get any meat or vegetables. Silver Spoon does NOT do that, they give a perfect ratio of noodles to mix-ins so that you don't get fatigued by their noodle-y goodness and you get nutrients and flavor variety. When I don't feel like cooking, this is one of my favorite restaurants. I feel that the serving sizes are generous and I either split it or save half for later. The fried rice is always good despite which flavor you choose. I'm so disappointed by my experience this evening at Silver Spoon. I have been here quite a few times and tonight was terrible service. There was a huge lack of communication with all of their servers. The owner seated us and five minutes later another server told us to get up and move for another group to sit there. They offered our group of six free drinks for their bad service. We all decided to order drinks when we would normally get water because they said the drinks were on the house. When we got our bill we were charged for the drinks! When we asked them about it they said that they never told us the drinks were going to be free. What the heck?! I can't even believe it. This used to be a great Thai restaurant and we regularly ordered food to go and I would pick it up after work. The food in the past year has been hit or miss and they often forget things which you don't catch until you get home. Now with the pandemic they have gotten totally disorganized and the food has suffered too. Today I waited 15 minutes to pick up an order which was ready but they were so disorganized they didn't have a good system to service people and I had to wait in a long line to get the food. read more

My husband was born in Bangkok. He's a Thai guy. His mother was raised in her family's Thai restaurant in Bangkok. She grew up working in the kitchen. Needless to say - my husband is a little picky when it comes to Thai food, as he knows what the real stuff is supposed to taste like. Silver Spoon passes the test. The curries (the green curry is my favorite... love the eggplant and basil...), the rice dishes (oldest son loves the vegetable fried rice), the noodles (youngest son always chooses the phad see-ew which is really good), the salads (I love the Yum Neau) , and especially the soups (Best Tom Yum I've ever had!) - they are all done really well here. The ingredients are fresh, they are beautiful to look at, the flavors are wonderful, and they have a star system so that you can adjust the chili/heat to your taste. Once you've tried their food a few times you'll find your star comfort level. Mine is a 2. (Go ahead - call me a wimp!) My husbands is a 5! The restaurant itself is beautiful... live music some nights - perhaps every Friday night? A huge fish tank that my boys love... outdoor seating for the beautiful days and evenings... comfortable seats and the place is rarely packed. We've never had a problem with service there. Ordered Lemon grass chicken. Chicken was on the raw side. It was not cutting easily. When I showed it to server she kept insisting that it did not look pink so it was cooked. I visited Silver Spoon yesterday with my love and had yet another great time! This will have been our second time eating here and we have no complaints. Silver Spoon is just five minutes away from our house which makes it convenient. They have a large selection of items on their menu which give opportunity for many more future visits of exploring new entrees. Last night we had the Crab Delight which was delicious. It reminded me of a deep fried wanton crab wrap from my childhood which was a pleasant memory. We also got the #29 Phad Woon Sen which was too die for and the Tom Kah Coconut soup which I wasn't a fan of but my husband loved it. The customer service has always been great. Very friendly, prompt to offer help and fill up waters. There is no pressure to order fast. It is a nice upscale environment that I will continue to visit in months to come. read more

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. Let me start by saying that Silver Spoon used to be a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. However since they added their Lynwood location this restaurant has suffered in terms of quality and customer service. First of all the waiters are super unfriendly. You almost have to beg to be seated an I have never seen a smile on any of their faces. Now the reason for my review is the beyond terrible experience I had with my parents last night. We arrived on a Tuesday night around 8 pm hoping to grab a quick bite to eat. There were no waiters in sight to seat us. To make matters worse none of the tables had been cleaned or cleared. It was actually pretty unhygienic to see. And certainly not appetizing ! When we finally did manage to get a waiter she told us, without any eye contact, that we had to wait at "at least 10 minutes", and stormed off to the kitchen. When we did get a spot, the other waiter wheeled in trolley to start busting tables. When we finally placed our order our night went from bad to worse. Sitting behind us was a large party of 14. Next to them was a party of 8 children. These children were running around the restaurant as if they were on track and field. We politely asked the dad if they could ask the kids to calm down and stay put (since they were continually bumping into our chairs and table). This guy flipped a lid and literally told us "to shove it and this is America and we can do what we want including our kids". This was only the beginning of his rant and I will spare you the rest since his words can't be repeated. This waiters just stood there and did nothing! For your wallet, stomach and sanity's sake avoid this place. read more

What are these people talking about? Granted, I suppose it's possible I came on an off-night (Sat. night and crowded?) and maybe the regular cook was off, but I was not impressed. New in Duvall, I had a hankerin' for some Thai food and ask a friend for a recommendation. She whole-heartedly suggest Silver Spoon. Good sign. I look at the menu online and phone in an order for crab delight, phad thai and red curry. As I walk in to pick it up, I'm behind a woman telling her guest how all other Thai restaurants pale compared to this one. Good sign, again. I pick up my moderately pricey meal and take it home to share with the Missus. The Crab Delights were large, but primarily because of a high cream cheese to crab ratio. Very little crab taste. The phad thai was a hard-to-break-up congealed lump. My impression was "bland and oily-tasting," my wife's was "bland and vinegary-tasting." The curry was a little better, but also bland. I doubt I'll risk my hard-earned money on another venture here. Will try Thai Duvall next time. read more

My aunt and uncle have been regulars here for years and I can see why. The service can't be beat. They are very attentive and prompt and would be a reason to go back even if the food wasn't delicious. If you want to try a real treat, try the Silver Spoon Cashew ($9.99). Oh my goodness it's delicious! It's garlicy and nutty and overall an amazing dish of food. The portions are very generous and we leave with extras all the time which is enough for another meal. I have also tried the Pad Thai ($9.99) and my uncle usually gets the Silver Spoon Delight ($11.29) that has three different kinds of meats and veggies. For appetizers I would recommend the fresh rolls ($7.59) that come with an AMAZING peanut sauce. If they sold it by the tub, I would buy it! Some sauces can be a little too spicy or sweet, but honestly this is perfect. And if you manage to have room after your massive meal, do yourself a favor and get the fried bananas with coconut ice cream ($5.50)! It's served over a raspberry sauce with whipped cream and I swear it's one of the best desserts I've had in a while. The bananas are warm and crispy yet soft in the middle and the ice cream is light and complimentary. I personally HATE the taste of coconut but it's just a hint so I recommend it even if you aren't a huge coconut fan. Their menu is HUGE so I believe it wouldn't be hard to find something that everyone enjoys. The ambiance is nice and there is an outside seating area. Here I am sitting in the furthest hinterlands of Microsoftopia and am in awe, shocked that such a place exists at the edge of civilization. The food, the seafood Phad See-Ew and Pla Chui Chi here are incredibly authentic, hot, and fresh. It's located in a mall, but is definitely WAY above mall level.
