Really happy that there's a good ramen place in Oxnard now. This shop is located in The Annex food hall right by the entrance. I love how this location doesn't have a long wait like the original location. They have tonkotsu pork broth, chicken broth and veggie broth ramens. I ordered the Blaze which has a spicy creamy pork broth with pork. The broth was rich and creamy. I ordered level 2 (medium hot - FYI 3 levels) and it was the right amount of spiciness. The noodles were al dente with the right amount of chew. And the pork belly was crispy on the pan fried edges and flavorful. The soft boiled egg was also delicious. Service was good and there was plenty of seating at the restaurant or in the food hall area. I'll definitely be back and come here especially when I'm craving ramen during the colder days. read more

I don't want to change my 5 star rating, because I come here often and I do very much enjoy the food and have never had any issues with the staff or the food in general. With that said, I am absolutely disappointed with the customer service I received here as of recent. I have been coming here ever since they opened and have always stayed loyal to the business. I experienced something that was definitely out of the ordinary and uncommon. I ordered my food via google/postmates and went there to pick up my food as directed. Once I got there, they said that they never saw my order come through. Mind you, I had already paid via Google so I had the charge on my card. They proceeded not to make my food until after about an additional 10-15 minutes -- then they finally confirmed that my order did go through and that they just missed it and so I had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for my food. Overall I pretty much waited 1 hr. 30 minutes (including the time since I ordered online). There were no sorries, no attempt of customer service to ease the inconvenience that was experienced. I totally get that they have a ton of customers but damn, if you can't handle the influx of online and in-restaurant orders then give up one. Don't compromise the quality of your service and food for more profit, especially at the expense of loyal customers. Looking at the recent reviews, it seems like many have been experiencing negative issues with this location and it makes me sad. I don't want to give a 1 star because my intentions are not to hurt the business but to implore you to please do better and be more considerate to your patrons. I think they've done a good job staying @ the Annex in the Collection area. They have solidified themselves and I think the flavors are pretty set now. I had their classic this time around and the tonkotsu broth lacked the depth of flavor, but it has the creamy texture and amount of saltness one would expect. The amount of noodles provided is ample, but due to the long wait of getting them, they clumped up together. the spinach we had that day was quite tender and nice, and the pork was nicely charred on one side and pretty darn succulent. The only draw side was the bamboo shoots, but it's hard to get fresh bamboo shoots here anyways. The chicken still looks the same to me and I believe they still use chicken breast. Definitely a nice plus to have in the area and I'm glad they are becoming a crowd's favorite in the area. The only negative was the long wait time for preparation. It wasn't that busy of a lunch rush and it took 25 minutes for three orders of ramen. Even for a single person ordering one bowl took approximately 20 minutes. Hard to say what's the factor, but perhaps something they can consider figuring out if they can speed something up without affecting quality. If not, oh well. read more

I came here to Silverlake Ramen a week ago. I had it bookmarked on my list of places to try when I'm out here in Oxnard. I've been to The Collection shopping area a bunch of times but never been in the Annex Food Hall itself so it was good to finally find it and walk around inside. It's pretty much right smack dab in the middle of the place so it's probably equally far from the parking lots. Silverlake Ramen can be spotted right from the main entrance so it was easy to find. I wasn't really sure what to order here so I asked the team member working the register and he recommended the garlic truffle ramen. My dinner fate was in his hands and I was willing to go with it. I got my food to go and it was ready pretty quickly so it was great that I didn't have to wait too long. I'll need to try some of the appetizers they have here they all looked really good and promising so I'll order a few of those next time. Since I got my order to go, everything still tasted amazing when i brought it back home. It held up very well and I was pleasantly surprised. I can't believe good ramen has finally made its way to the 805. I lived in the 626 for some time and was always privileged with amazing ramen either down the street or just in the next city over. Living in Camarillo it used to be like finding a needle in a haystack or just biting the bullet and driving back to the LA area. But now... Now... there is hope. There is Silverlake Ramen. I've tried their pork bun, pork rice bowl, and ramen. I love the thin noodles they use and the ramen definitely has flavor to it. Their pork buns are delicious and the bread is so soft. Personally, if the pork buns were a little bit cheaper I would just buy 4 of those and call it a day. I think I got lucky with the pork bowl, because I ordered near closing and majority of the bowl was just pork. I couldn't complain as it made for delicious left overs. They're seating is limited and if you can't find a seat in their reserved section you had to order to-go. It's a little odd cause we sat literally right across from the place and I felt like we just wasted a lot of to-go utensils, but this is me just nit picking at this point. I've been told the Ramen is amazing here, but hadn't tried the spot out until today and I have to say the food was great! I did not have ramen though!! The small rice bowl was a very generous serving and the items were very reasonably priced. The only down side to the experience was the wait- and I guess you could argue that the food was fresh! I walked up to order(to go) when there was a momentary lull- all 4 of the tables were full, but there was no line. Within 5 min of my order being placed the place did get busy again with at least 5 groups in line to order- so it is a busy spot... still it did take 22 minutes for one small chicken karaage bowl and one pork bun-which seems like a long time to me ! This restaurant was suggested by a co-worker after my favorite went out of business a year ago. Its located in a busy food court with limited dedicated seating. You can "reserve" one of their seats and enjoy your ramen prepared properly in a bowl, or, take your chance and get a to-go setup and find your own seating elsewhere. The later option is why one star was lost from my rating. The broth, as good as it tasted, had to be placed in a separate paper cup, luke-warm, and the rest in a Separate paper cup. Once we found a table I poured the broth in and hoped for the best. The noodles were ok but not what I expected. One more lost star because the noodles sucked. I would only recommend this restaurant if you reserve a table and get the dedicated serving style proper. Not a ramen house! read more

Food - OK Ramen. It's not amazing. It's not bad. It's ok. Ambiance - It is in a food court, standard food court ambiance. It's fine. They have a handful of tables reserved for themselves, but there are many other public tables around. Service - Worth zero starring this place. I mentioned that they have a handful of tables that are reserved for them, which is fine, but their policies surrounding these tables and how they will serve you are bizarre and idiotic, as is their dogged enforcement of their incredibly stupid rules. Narrative - We came up with a party of 6. 4 of us were going to get food, two were not. They said that they could push two tables together, but the only tables that were open were on opposite sides of the area, so we would have to wait. We said that's fine, we will take the food and use one of the several open public tables within FIFTEEN FEET of their space, and they said no, then they would have to make the order to go (i.e. put everyone's order into three or four separate disposable containers) unless we were sitting at THEIR tables. Again, we are talking about tables that were within fifteen feet. We said fine, we will just take this open table and move the other one over when it opens up. Then the guy says "No, we can't seat you until we seat your entire party". So two of us say "We aren't getting anything, it's fine", so the four who were eating take the open table and order. Their food comes out. we grab two of the chairs from the public space, again, these public tables are within fifteen feet of the Silverlake tables, and there is no dividing line or wall or anything. Literally the tables are all in the same space, the silverlake ones just look different. We sit their chatting and eating amicably, and after a few minutes, one of the staff walks up and says "I'm sorry, we can't have more than five people sitting at any one table." WHAT? Who has a policy about how many people can sit around a table? I said "I know this isn't your fault, but has anyone explained to you that your rules about your tables are insane?", then she defended their stupid position, saying "It's like any other restaurant, you come in and give them your party size and then you get a table", I started to explain that we tried that but they couldn't accommodate us, and was considering segueing into a discussion along the lines of "This is idiotic, we have been sitting here for five or ten minutes and it hasn't been an issue for anyone, and it is not an issue for anyone and could not be an issue for anyone in any real sense", but then I realized how stupid this whole thing was, and decided to abide by their idiotic rules and be punitively forced to sit fifteen feet away from my friends who were eating for no reason, because they were also not allowed to walk 15 feet further away with their "for here" dishes. Jesus f*cking christ you guys, this doesn't need to be this complicated. You give us food, we sit nearby, we eat it, then we give you back your dishes and leave. I feel like we as a society have mastered this art. Anyway it's certainly not worth dealing with your bullsh*t to eat your mediocre food, so the simplest solution is to not come back, and when friends suggest we go to your place, encourage them to pick somewhere else where there are normal and sane rules around where you can be while you eat the damn food. read more

I came here one day with the family for dinner. They said it had to be a to go order because I wasn't sitting at one of their tables. When I got my order, I noticed the broth was hot and fresh in its own container, but the noodles, greens, meat and egg were in a separate container and lukewarm at best. I shouldn't have let it go. Pretty soon I got violently ill; classic case of food poisoning; you know the routine and the symptoms. What I came to realize is that because they have so few tables and so many people eat the food elsewhere in the food court they assemble a lot of "to-go" orders. So they assemble the noodles, greens, eggs, and meat in these containers, and cap them but pour the broth once orders are placed. Guess what happens to eggs, meat, noodles, and greens in half empty containers when they're left to sit around in "danger zone" temps? It's a fundamentally flawed approach to the food court set up and sub par Ramen at that, so it's definitely not worth getting sick. Avoid. read more

We came on a Wednesday night, maybe 2 hours before closing. We had our dog and didn't know it was dog friendly so my husband ordered our food togo while I waited outside. He saw another dog and asked about the policy and realized dogs are allowed inside. He told the cashier we'd like to eat at the tables since our family was able to be inside. She told us since we did togo, we cannot sit at the tables for dine in. I understand if all tables were taken or if there were a ton of people waiting, but there wasn't. There were 3 empty tables and two tables that needed to be cleared. We had other family eating with us who ordered there as well and said dine in so we could sit at the tables and she packed their orders togo once she realized we were together. The cashier was unfriendly, rude, and service was not it. She was the only one in a yellow shirt. After our family bought many meals at Silverlake Ramen, we were not allowed to sit at the tables FOR Silverlake Ramen. The cashier should not be in customer service with her RBF and attitude. The way she spoke to us and other people ordering there, I wouldn't return. It's a shame one terrible employee could ruin customers to return, but it does. We ordered at several other places around the Annex and was met with much better service. The food is decent but they screw up your order all the time. We live close by so we order from here often. And many times we have ordered and they've messed the order up. Most recently we ordered an hour ahead of time for pickup and showed up 50 minutes late and they still messed up and they said they misplaced the order. I don't even think they started the order. So if you're going to come here and sit down and eat places decent. But if you're ordering to go, expect there to always be an issue. And expect them not to take ownership. I stood in line for 30 minutes...30 minutes!! No cashier was around, the lady bagging the to-go orders kept looking at the line and did nothing. The line was long, about where the Pho sign is in the annex. So many people behind me left after standing for so long. There was 1 group in front of me, and I asked them how long they've been waiting for, and they also told me 20 minutes without a cashier. Finally, the same lady who seen the line super long finally decided to come over. She took the groups order ahead of mine, and left again to work the line! After that, a couple of groups behind me left frustrated. I timed how long I stood in line for, with a cashier acknowledging the long line and still nothing for 30 minutes. Yes I would've left but for the time I waited and for me to be next I couldn't go so easily. Then she took my order, told me they'll call the number and place it on the side once its ready. I waited a extra 15 minutes just to find out my order was sitting there all along, but no worker ever called out my number. Its very unfortunate how this went, as being a continuous customer, I don't recommend silverlake ramen anymore. Silverlake Ramen employee, told me that they are talking to there manager about stopping the service of giving water to non customers. I've gone to Silverlake Ramen a lot, but today I tried something new and decided to go to Silverlake for water. They literally told me that they'd be going to their manager about me asking for water. After the employee reluctantly gave me the water they then went to local annex businesses nearby, and ask them if they give water, trying to discourage other businesses and justify their decision. I don't know what his purpose was, in asking other businesses about me simply requesting water. I would've gotten water from the two hands corn dog restaurant that I dined at however they only offered carbonated water. Should be a public right to have water, people can choke, and may just need water. Do better Silverlake. read more

I came here because I heard they were really good. We ordered a pork bowl (rice), a classic ramen, and a pork bun. Price was nearly $40, not including drinks. I was disappointed in the ramen. The noodles weren't cooked thoroughly and they were stuck together. The broth was not really what I thought it would be. It was creamy but didn't taste fresh and was overly sweet. I really did not consider it to be a ramen place that I'd recommend. The rice bowl with pork was very bland and not really good at all. I feel bad but it wasn't to our expectations. We only took two bites of the pork bun. I gave up after that. Not satisfied. For that price, I expect a simple bowl of rice and irl and a classic ramen to blow my socks off. My husband took one sip of the broth and shook his head no. I said to him not to your expectations? He said.. Not when I know what good ramen tastes like. I'm giving 2 stars for customer service and my husband said he'd only give 1 star. He said: noodles are too sticky and broth too salty. He lived in Japan for two years. I'm just a foodie. I started with the chicken karaage which is an soy marinated fried chicken nugget. It had a nice flavor while juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside with a sriracha mayo dip. I've had worst but I've had better. Kind of a small portion but you have the option on getting it in a bowl style over rice. The shoyo on fire ramen with chicken was ok. It could have been soooo much better. The chicken tasted like it was maybe poached on the side and placed on top. It was juicy but flavorless. The broth was spicy but lacked any depth of flavor like a good ramen broth should have. At $12.95 a bowl it could be way more exciting. read more

I love the Blaze spicy tonkotsu ramen here, I always add the black garlic oil and the flavor is wonderful. Be careful when you slurp the noodles, if they whip broth into your eyes that spicy burns, and it's painful but on the lips it's a wonderful tingle. read more
