COVID BEWARE Went to pick up tire at Simi Tire a week or so ago and the guys at the desk told us we don't have to wear a mask. They actually went out of their way to bother a customer that has said nothing to them about masks to promote Not wearing a mask during a mask mandate. So if my mask protects you and your non-mask is basically saying screw you customer! NOBODY had mask or just hanging on their neck. I walked out and called the guy & went nuts on him. Being told by a high school age looking fool to take off my mask. I said picture an ER nurse & Fireman in here both in our family and you have nerve to say that. I called back and asked for owner. My husband was on the way there and decided what a waste to subject ourselves to Covid .. I'm sure they don't wash their hands, or do anything to protect workers or customers. The kid wouldn't put owner on the phone and never called back. Ordered from Jim's Tire went to get it EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE and Customer had mask on.. At last 20 plus people. BOYCOTTED now by Fire Department - friends n Family. Shame on you! UPDATE RESPONSE TO OWNER Nice Try my Dad is Mexican never in a 100 years would say that. I had no idea who answered the phone so how would I know their race. What I did say was how dare what appeared to be a snot nose, minimum wage high schooler tell someone to take their mask off like he's a Dr now.. That's just a made up LIE saying anything about hispanics .. a story told to you by the man-child at the counter telling people not to wear a mask. His story to make you feel bad for screwing with your business. You bet I said my husband was coming that shopped there for years to talk to the owner who your employees would not put on the phone saying you were on a never ending zoom meeting after trying 2 times. He decided not to go for the reason I posted - SAFETY. Oh should I mention he's not white either & 9 year customer! You clearly didn't care or you would have called back to get the customers side & the truth. The guys at the front desk were in an air conditioned office so hardly having issues from heat. On top of it it was a totally June gloom day no sun at all the day I came in. If you were truly interested in your customer & staffs wellbeing you would have called to apologize for this bad behavior and salvaged a 9 year customer & filled your employee in on the huge fine for NOT wearing masks. Working together is training your staff not to tell someone take off their mask in a pandemic. I have news for you thousands of professions wear masks daily, from paint shops, wood work, hospitals, scientists on and on.. and by the way we're 3 months into a pandemic.. so getting the hang of strapping a mask across your mouth is hardly hoops to jump through.. The guy was proud to announce no mask like it was a big ole anti COVID badge. He was one of those guys.. who else would go out of their way to proudly say to a women/mom he never met that you don't have to wear masks here as his proud greeting to you entering the store. read more

I was on my way home and had to pull over to write this. I've NEVER went to a shop, just as a walk in, ask for a service and be told sure we do that, for free!! I got a nail in my tire and had a pretty steady leak. I called and talked to Skyler and he told me to come right in. I got there and they took care of me right away. Had it plugged in under 15 minutes and shook my hand and said have a nice day!! Wtf!!! Maybe this is common here but where I'm from you are paying at the very least $10 for a plug. For the third time since we've moved to Simi Valley we've needed a puncture repaired. This shop is wonderful - they locate the problem, remove it (screw, nail, staple), mend the tire, and send you on your way. And, this last time, because AAA had come to put on the spare, they even remounted the original wheel and put the spare back. *No charge, really nice office and shop personnel.* They even called me once as I was on my way home to tell me I'd left my sunglasses there. Came in today, found a nail in my tire. They were super friendly, I got right in no wait. Took the mechanic about 15 mins all together to check to make sure my tires wasn't damaged and if it needed a patch. No patch, tire looked good. In and out in less than 30 mins. Tires with heart! New to this area, I just stopped by to patch a slow leak, which they couldn't do because it was punctured on the sidewall. They recommended replacing that tire and the other front one that both had very worn treads. When I responded that the price of 2 new tires was not in my budget, they found some partially used ones and barely charged me anything! I had run over a nail this afternoon and my tire went flat on the 118. I had pulled off on Tapo and refilled the tire at a gas station, where I had discovered that I had a really fast leak (I could hear the air escape!) After googling the nearest tire shop I had the good fortune to find Simi Valley Tire pros. After pre-authorizing the service staff to replace the tire if necessary I walked a few blocks over for lunch. When I returned, I was informed that my existing tire was repaired at no charge. I'm thrilled with the integrity displayed by the tire pros staff; they chose to forgo an easy sale for the sake of honesty. I just left Tire Pros, after arriving with a mostly flat tire with a giant bolt stuck inside. I don't know much about cars, so I wasn't sure if it was going to be repairable or not. They are very friendly in there, explain things in an easy-to-understand way, and didn't take advantage of the fact that I know almost zero about cars or tires. That in itself was amazing. More over, they told me my tire is fixed and I'm good to go. I asked how much I owe them, because obviously they provided a service for me and I was prepared to pay. The service was free! What?! I apologize for the long review but it's a long story. I recently discovered a flat front tire on my Audi S5 one morning while I was about to leave for work. I've brought my past cars to Tire Pros for the last couple of years and have had good experiences, so I decided to call them up to see if they offered a mobile repair service. While they don't officially do it, they said they would help me out and send out a tech to see what they could do. Fortunately my wife wasn't working that day so I took her car into work. During my commute the shop called me to say that the tech inspected the tire and it couldn't be repaired onsite as it had sustained some serious damage, and that the other tire was on its way out also. They offered to bring the wheel with the flat to their shop to replace the tire, bring the wheel back and mount it, and then drive my car back to their shop to handle the other tire, all at no extra charge. This seemed like great service so I agreed, but that's where the nightmare began. Tire Pros sent a kid - literally - out to my house to drive my $60,000 manual sports car into their shop. My wife texted me as he was getting in the car and I just about had a mini heart attack. I immediately called Tire Pros to call off the plan but by the time I got someone in management on the phone (they have the longest hold times I have ever experienced) it was too late, the car was already at the shop. I knew deep down I would come to regret this decision and I was right. The next morning when I picked up my car and drove it work, I immediately noticed a problem with shifting into first gear and smelled a very strong odor coming from the front of the car. It didn't go away all day, so I called Tire Pros back to report the problems and they told me to bring it back. I dropped it off later that night after work. The following morning the owner called me to verify he experienced the same issues and that he would like the guys at nearby German Import Services to test drive the car and give their opinion. It took a couple days to arrange this since they were so busy, so the car sat in the Tire Pros lot. On Saturday when I had some free time, I decided to head over there and get a look at my car. Well what do you know, there were scrapes all over the front bumper and the car was inches away from a concrete parking block. This is when I lost all faith in Tire Pros. I couldn't believe they were so careless, first with the issues we were still investigating, and then this easily avoidable body damage. They promised me they would take care of it, but I still left the shop feeling burned big time. Later that day the car made it over to German Import and the owner test drove it. His diagnosis: clutch damage, would need to be replaced. He gave an estimate of $2600. Tire Pros then asked me to go in on the repair costs with them. I'm not kidding. FYI, my Audi is an 09 with only 24k miles on it (that's 5k a year considering it was bought in 08). I've been driving stick for years and know how to take care of a car like this. No way the clutch was bad at 24k. Anyways, when I explained this and refused to pay, they thought the problem might be related to uneven tread wear between the two new fronts and the two old rears. The S5 is a quattro so ideally you want balanced tread, but it's not necessary for the quattro system to work or anything like that. But I let them experiment so they put on two new backs and told me to come test drive it again the next day. No dice. Same problems. If this was not proof enough of the damage their driver had caused, they said they wanted Rusnak in Westlake to do a professional inspection. I didn't have much choice, and had already been without my car for over a week, so I agreed. But I would not let them drive the car there after all that had happened, so I took a half day at work, drove all the way out to Westlake and did a test drive with the Service Manager myself. Within seconds he said, "You're going to need a new clutch." Fast forward another week, and Rusnak finally takes apart the transmission after getting approval from Tire Pros, which was very slow in coming. They confirmed I would need new clutch plates and flywheel, total cost with labor coming out to $3750. Fast forward ANOTHER week and finally Tire Pros agrees to cover the repair. Now, a total of five and a half weeks after Tire Pros took my car, my transmission is getting rebuilt and I'm looking at another week before I get the car back. All this from a flat tire. It goes without saying that I will not be coming back to Tire Pros anytime soon. The only reason I'm not giving them just one star is that they have been true to their word in repairing the damage. But there's no getting back these 6+ weeks I will have been without my car, plus the fact that it now has damage history. In conclusion, what is the moral of this story? Do not let a teenager drive an expensive sports car for ANY reason. read more

Came in for Sensors but needed a new Tire I couldn't afford one at the time....So I had my spare tire put on and never checked to see if my tire and rim were in the Trunk!!!!!!!!!!!! A month later I saved the money for a new tire and after checking my Trunk ..... THERE wasn't anything in there!!!!!!!! My TIRE and RIM were gone....!!!!!!!! I raced over to Tire Pros and thank God they had my Rim but obviously sold or got rid of my Mercedes tire I .....only had my tires for a couple of Years...... The rim was fixed so I went to pick comparable tire.....Next I was given the wrong size Tire brought that tire back then The Owner John Gave me a Tire that had been driven FLAT When I showed John (the Owner) this bad tire he was rude on the phone until he saw the bad tire..... At that time me promised Me another tire to replace the one they sold or gave away ..... I have used this Tire Pros for my personnel vehicles and my company vehicles. Service has been getting progressively worse over the last couple of years. No matter how many times I have asked to not have my vehicles windows rolled down while waiting for me to pick them up, they always are. But that is a minor issue. I took one of my delivery vehicles in for an oil change. Called ahead and was told they had plenty of time. I took it there because it was understood they do it and I was not told any different. After picking up the vehicle I found out they had Jiffy Lube down the street do the oil change. I could have done that! But I hate Jiffy Lube and would never have taken a lawnmower to that place. The treated my property with no respect and tried to argue with me why it does not matter that they took it there. This is not quality service and did not seem to care when I told them I would not be bringing it back ever. Now me and my money will go somewhere else. But maybe even more important will be when someone asks my opinion of where they should go for quality service. The Tire Pros in Simi Valley will be one I warn them away from. read more

Let me start out by saying I have been going to Tire Pros for years and have been very satisfied. Even the parking which is terrible, I put up with - heaven forbid they back your car in so you can get out of there easier but hey -that was not a deterrent. Not everyone is thoughtful! My last experience was so horrible, I will not go back! As my tires had to be ordered because they were not in stock, I paid a deposit to return the next day and have them put on. I had 2 days off - so that was OK. I went in the next day and after a few minutes, my tires (that I had paid a deposit on) were put on another car that came in before me. They claimed "the boss" who was out of town forgot to order the tires for the Volvo so they put my tires on (as they had no record of ordering mine - not a big surprise). Now did the the Volvo owner really order them or was this to make their story sound better to get my sympathy or understanding? Who really knows? So they ordered the tires again and if I wanted to wait or come back in 2 hours, they would have them - apparently they were at the other shop. Like I have all day to spend at the tire shop! I come back on Saturday (my next day off) and the owner is there. Says he was out of town and acting manager was new to position as well as office staff so..I guess that should make me feel better. They went and put on 4 tires and then wanted to know if I wanted an alignment for whatever price they quoted. REALLY?? I wasn't paying one more dime for poor service! I go to pay and the price is double - owner says that's for 4 tires. I asked what was on his computer as to what I ordered and paid the deposit for - apparently there was no mention anywhere in their system of how many were ordered - thank goodness I kept the receipt (which by the way I had to ask for). So, my car goes back on the rack to remove the 2 of the 4 tires and hopefully my old tires which were just fine were put back on. At this point, I am unsure of anything that's been said or done. Yes, they finally gave me a small discount like that I guess owner thought make it OK. If I had not paid a deposit, I had gone on -line and found the tires cheaper across town. I would have just left but they already had my money. My family and friends go to the other place but I have been so happy at this shop - for tires and other services, I stayed a customer. Now, I have told everyone my story of this fiasco especially to co-workers who live in Simi and they will definitely not even consider going there. Long story short, if they have your tires in stock, I would say go ahead and have them put on (not the greatest price but not the worst) and they are usually friendly in the office and do have free coffee if that is important to you. What earned one star is that they didn't take special care of my order and I showed up 3 days later on time and left without tires. Called that morning to remind them that I was coming by but was treated indifferently. Absolutely do not order a special product from them, they do not value this business. My tire went flat on today's rainy Saturday morning. I was able to get someone to come put on my spare, but needed to get the tire replaced right away. I didn't feel safe driving with the spare. I called all around Simi Valley for a used tire for my Camry and no one had the right size or they were overly priced. I saw tire pros on Yelp and gave them a call. They didn't have the size I needed. But the rep I spoke with on the phone offered me 2 fairly new used tires for almost the price of 1. I came in right away and was helped quickly and got my tires changed right away. They even offered me some hot pizza! Overall the staff was very welcoming and nice and the office itself is very clean and well organized. Definitely a good Yelp find. I'll be back! read more

These guys saved the day by selling my friend a good used tire for $25 so I didn't have to hear him cry on my shoulder about his transportation woes and and having rotten tires for just a little while. Because of their actions, it also allowed me to not have to get up at four AM last week to drive him to work and for avoiding that early wake-up call, I'm thankful. I went over to tire pro's this morning at 8 am to have them check out may car. I had them check the tires, breaks and do an oil change. Their mechanic did not arrive until about 8:45. He apparently checked everything out and they said he would start on the oil change next. By 10:30 am I was still waiting for a 15 minute oil change. After sitting for so long I stood up and happened to see one of the people in the office walk across the street to Jiffy Lube and pull my car out of one of the bays and drive it back over to Tire Pros. He handed me my keys and charged me $40.00 for the oil change. If they would have told me at 8am they do not do oil changes I would have made better use of my day. I believe they are totally dishonest and would not trust them with any on my vehicles. read more
