    Chicken Bowl

Cool new easy Korean spot in downtown! Easy options, just different combos of proteins over rice. I got the gochujang chicken and it was delish. Soft boiled egg cooked perfectly. Excited that there's beef sausage for me to try (pork-free) and can't wait to try the curry chicken next!

In South Korea, I enjoy this brand I love it The Korean food was the same everywhere, but it was nice to meet the food that actually had many stores in Korea, and it was nice to have a cheap price, friendly and cost-effective. It's so nice to have a photo booth in the store

Totally disgusting. As I walk into the restaurant closer to the kitchen, the kitchen has a horrendous smell stinky. So I started to wonder if the food even clean. I tried more of the pork, some pork they tasted like dry meat that has been lasted for a while. And I tried the water. I'm pretty sure they're water It's from tab water and it has a very irony taste. Avoid at all cost. It's not bad at this point. It's very disgusting, unhygienic

La comida está muy rica me gustó mucho el pork belly y la sausage, buen ambiente. Buen servicio la persona es muy amable, nos recomendó bebidas.

    Gochu-jang Chicken with soft egg.

YES! This is exactly what I was hoping for. There are a number of restaurants that offer various Asian bowls, but I was very impressed with the flavor and execution of the gochu-jang Chicken. The egg was perfectly cooked ( I got the soft egg), and I was very pleased with the seasoning of the chicken! I will absolutely be coming here again!

Food was delicious! Had the super bowl and wifey had beef bowl. Plenty of food and tasty! Very nice staff and very clean dining area! Would hit this up again if we were in the area!

This is THE go-to place if you have young kids. The food being steamed makes it such a healthy option that no other place downtown matches imo. Tofu, steamed egg, rice, seaweed in small enough pieces for my one year old to consumer, just an absolute godsend for us. The food itself tastes pretty great too. Very satisfying like one of those "I deserve to treat myself" meals lol. Much better change of pace than the thousand Mediterranean restaurants in the peninsula lmao.

    Unbelievably water-logged and soggy

I got the veggie dumpling tofu soup at medium spice and it was amazingly flavorful. The soups come out PIPING HOT, the bowls were still sizzling when we got them, and I definitely burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth even after blowing on my spoon for what I thought was a long time. The veggie dumplings inside the soup were also really good, I actually thought for a second when I first took a bite they had accidentally given me meat ones, but I'm pretty sure it was just tofu with a surprisingly meatlike texture. The menu is very vegetarian/vegan friendly, the vegetarian dishes are clearly labelled, and I believe all the vegetarian tofu soups are vegan as long as you don't add egg. Most of the banchan is vegan, except for the kimchi and fish tofu. The banchan I did get to try (cucumber, bean sprout, japchae, potato) were all really good with very distinctive flavors. Meal also comes with purple rice which I enjoyed. The menu is also very kid friendly, my little sister loved the fish tofu soup. The inside is very large and they also have outdoor seating as well. On the wall they have a menu signed by RM of BTS, who I guess came to eat here during the Stanford stop of the tour. In terms of service our main waiter seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood and was not super friendly, but he got the job done lol. However there was a different girl who brought us our banchan and she was really really nice. Overall I would highly recommend!

Pro tip: when you get in, you order first before being seated, especially the kalbijjim since it takes a long time to make. The kalbijjim, of course, is the star of the show and never ceases to amaze me. The veggies inside are flavorful and tender from marinating in the sauce for hours, and the beef is fall-off-the-bone tender and plentiful. It's expensive, but worth every penny -- and with the cheese torched on top, it's just perfect. We also got the bibimbap and steamed mandu, japchae, and they were amazing too. Service was great -- attentive even with the crowds. There's street parking, but 3rd Ave is busy, so your best bet is the parking lot nearby. Come hungry and be patient -- it's worth it!

These days, we go for the seolleongtang. Our top picks are the combination seolleongtang and the yukgaejang (spicy brisket soup). The combination soup is rich, hearty, and feels like drinking pure liquid collagen. If you're craving something with a kick, the spicy brisket soup offers a much deeper, more savory, and flavorful spice profile.

The server cooks the BBQ for you. Initially it felt awkward with the waiter parked at our table giving us practically no privacy. when the table next to us were seated and the waiter bounced back and forth between the two tables, it got slightly better. Had similar experience in Korea but there the waitress would give us space and only stop by for a minute to set things up or to flip the meat. The banchan was great. One good thing with the waiter being there all the time is that getting refill of the banchan was easy. The meat quality was top notch. I would skip the samgyeopsal and try the pork jowl next time. Yes, pretty sure we will be back. The one disappointment was the mul-naengmyon. When in Seoul, one of our best meal was cold naengmyon with BBQ. The soup was so refreshing, it was just amazing. Not here. It was practically dry. Thus the 1 star deduction. Tipping practice was POS thingy that was left on the table, waiter stepped away. Very nice. It is expensive, but I think it is worth a visit or two, particularly for special occassions.

It feels just like a warm hug in a bowl! Their cold noodles, both spicy and non-spicy versions, are refreshing and perfect for cooling down summer heat. We also almost always order the mo deum soo yook for extra protein. It's a combination plate with boiled beef brisket, tail, and tendons. You will have to season them yourself with salt and pepper, but beef is always so soft and tender. I highly recommend ordering this only if you're dining with a group of 3 or more because the portion is huge! After finishing your meal, they'll serve you a yakult, super yummy and great for digestion (super thoughtful of them) They're busy and almost always have a waitlist, especially during peak dinner hours. From my experience, the longest I've waited was about 45 minutes, but normally it's only around 20-30 minutes. There's a boba shop nearby where you can grab a drink while waiting. Overall, I have nothing to complain about with this place. Try it once and you'll understand why everyone loves it!
