Since There aren't many Pho places in Morgan Hill, and I've only been to one..I can actually say that this is the best Pho restaurant in Morgan Hill. It's definitely the cleanest I've seen in all of Santa Clara County. And the most friendliest of owners. Interesting to discover a Vietnamese oasis of some sort...in a not-so-great looking shopping center. The decor is pleasant and welcoming, with some emphasis on the Vietnamese culture. And the Vietnam promo video that plays continuously adds a nice touch. The menu is simple, unlike other Pho joints in San Jose. This place is ideal for first-time Pho eaters. You can get rare slices of cut steak with EITHER well-done brisket OR tendon. OR you can get it with meatballs. There is an option to get a combo of meats for a dollar more. For me, Broth is good to above average. They also have a spicy beef noodle soup that has a little kick to it, although I had to add more spice. And you can ask for additional noodles if desired. Spring rolls were on par. I can eat them forever! Their grilled pork rice dish wasn't bad either. The thin cuts of pork loin were very tender and full of lemongrass flavor. To quench my thirst, I usually get their refreshing Mint ice tea or Thai ice tea. Always hits the spot. read more

Located in a small shopping center in Morgan Hill this place has some surprisingly good food. From the location and outside appearance you wouldn't know that some of the best pho in Morgan Hill is to be had here. I was able to try the pho with oxtail, brisket, and tendon. The broth was super flavorful and complex. The meat on the takeout order was just right for one person. The oxtail was ok but I would of preferred it cooked a little longer. The spring rolls were also fresh and had good sized shrimp inside. The pork was also cooked and seasoned perfectly in the spring rolls. The menu prices are reasonable and the inside of the restaurant is well kept. I will definitely visit this location again to try more of the menu. If you're in the Morgan Hill area this restaurant is definitely worth a stop. read more

We ordered the rare beef pho and the chicken pho with vegetables added. Both had a great broth, full of flavor and packed with meat and rice noodles. The vegetables were nice and crispy, not over cooked. We weren't the biggest fans of the spring rolls, the meat inside was too sweet. We also ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer which was tasty, but very greasy from the deep frying. The boba wasn't the black pearls I am used to, and was more of a jello consistency. Not my favorite. A bit of a mixed bag. Had the Spicy Seafood Pho, which delivered the promised amount of spice without numbing my taste buds. I even added some of their smoked chili flakes for a little more heat and a subtle smokey flavor. I definitely enjoyed my pho. There seems to be a breakdown in communication between the server and the kitchen. The server recommended the mint tea with the spicy pho and she was going to send a taste over to us. We thought this sounded cool and we were going to get 2 mint teas, but the sample never arrived and we never had the chance to order mint tea. They lost an opportunity to make more money on our ticket and we lost the chance to try the tea. I clearly ordered vegetarian spring rolls, but they never came. Halfway through my soup, I realized we didn't have them. I considered canceling the order, but wanted to try them. Our check would have been even less if I didn't remind them about the spring rolls. My point is, I wonder how much money they lose in a week from little moments like these? I would like to see Simmering Pho stay in business. read more

We were passing thru Morgan Hill on a chilly Saturday morning and thought pho would be perfect. We arrived at 11:15am and we were the only ones there which was a little surprising since the good pho shops in San Jose are usually super busy on the weekends. Being honest, the (chicken) pho and broth taste the same from other places NONETHELESS good food, very good. I loved their taro milk tea especially the pearls (reminded me of coffee jelly). Ordered their fried shims egg roll, very hot but so good (no shrimp in sight tho). We visited this restaurant one evening for dinner and it did not disappoint. The owner seated us and took our order and served us our drinks and dinners. My friend had the pho ga, with extra veggies which was really nice, and I had the pad thai dinner. Both were excellent! The broth of the pho was silky smooth and had no fat in it. It was just wonderful, the best we've ever had. My pad thai was really good also. I was so impressed by the immaculate restaurant - it was spotless and so clean and pleasant to relax in and enjoy your meal. We really enjoyed our meals here, and will definitely return. read more

Came back here and was extremely surprised by the improvement! The service was really exceptional. The server (who may have been the owner) was extremely kind, attentive, and pleasant. The pho was delicious. The base still a bit on the plain side... but... it's low in salt and no MSG! So that's a huge plus. And I just added a bunch of chili flakes etc and it became very flavorful. The interior was pleasant and pretty as always. It does get a bit warm, and there's a bunch of fans but no A/C. The spring rolls were great - and generously portioned! They also were very accommodating about minor customization to not have pork and sub out chicken and tofu combo. They also made a lovely little kids bowl of noodles for my daughter, and she loved it. I am a big fan of this place. Family owned... wife, husband and brother are the absolute sweetest! Food = the best pho you will find in Morgan Hill (or anywhere in my opinion) I always get chicken pho with broccoli on the side & spring roll. You can tell this is home cooked with love. Price = Very good for how much food you get. Ambiance = It is tucked away in a shopping center but when you walk in you find yourself in a sweet getaway experience. I purchased 3 lunch items and was surprised at how high the cost was, especially because my sandwich was only $8. When I asked the owner for a receipt with the breakdown of costs he stated that he didn't have one. I showed him the menu with the prices of the three times I received and it should've been at least $8 to 9 dollars cheaper than what he charged. He got very angry with me, because I was asking him to break down the cost for me. When I showed him the menu prices, he said it was extra because I got vegetarian, however, the item on the menu is vegetarian!!!!!!! I ended up just walking away. I hope this owner is not doing this to other patrons, but I'm sure a lot of patrons don't even look at their receipts. In addition, the banh mi bread tasted day old and not the usual, crunchy with fluffy inside that you're used to when ordering a banh mi. The 2 soups / noodles I ordered were ok. P = Pho is their main attraction but they also have rice plates and vermicelli. Too funny. Ever since I started working in this area I called this place Shimmering Pho...thinking they named it after the glassy noodles. It is actually called Simmering Pho which I only learned when I started this review :) So because of my mistake you get two quotes for one :) Both of the quotes are appropriate. One night I did indeed stop in this restaurant with a heavy head, or was it a heavy heart/, and the Pho worked its magic. I ordered on that night the Spicy Beef full of an honest broth (not very spicy) and all the parts of the cow that keeps vegetarians vegetarian. It was an almost perfect bowl of soup. At lunch one day, I went with Spring Rolls and a plate of cubed beef and rice. The sauce with the rolls were excellent and complimented their crunchy goodness and the simple plate of beef and rice was perfect comfort in its simpleness. Hmmm, do you wonder why they get five stars? I'm not an expert on Asian Food...it is why I have an Asian Food Mentor, but I do know when a hole in the wall pours their heart and soul into their business. This is one of those places. opened by an area realtor whose Vietnamese wife wanted to open a restaurant, it is the type of place that makes you wish for another Real estate downturn so the husband doesn't close it and go back to his real job :) So support this very real effort as much as you can. I ordered spring rolls for take out. When I arrived the food was ready. Service was great (not busy at all). The spring rolls were wrapped so nicely! It was the prettiest food packing I've ever seen. Usually food is just thrown in a box, but not here. My peanut sauces were wrapped! The spring rolls were so fresh. Every ingredient was fresh. The shrimp, the wrapper, the veggies inside. Great food for a place that's only been open for 2 weeks. We ordered the Imerial Rolls very good, not cheap on the filling, husband had the Combo Pho and he liked the soup base, I had the pork chop rice plate, which was really good and nice that they used boneless pork chops. They also have some house made drinks that were fantastic I had a strawberry guava drink and husband had the lycee yogurt drink, both were yum. The owners are really friendly asked us if everything was good and asked if for a critic of the food, we said everything was great. Definitely will be back. read more
