The smoothies are hands down the best smoothies I have ever tried and I wish I could have them every day, the muffins and cookies are the best when you can dip them in hot chocolate and their oatmeal is great when you are in a rush and want quick bite. Over all I love Simones they have family feel atmosphere and are so friendly, if I could change one thing I would be for them to support the school across the street. I know that Simones does not get all their customers from the school but they get a lot of it from there and if they could just support the school like they support Simones that would be the great and I'm sure that they the school would appreciate them so much more. Love Simones! Been coming here since 2015. One thing that I would HIGHLY suggest to the management team is to change the straws that you give out with your drinks. Simones has always served my drinks with the straw already placed in my drink (I've always been a germaphob, but I never thought too much into it until now). I highly suggest that Simones switches to giving straws that are WRAPPED, rather than pre placing the straw in the drink. I'm assuming, these straws come unwrapped and in bulk, but considering how crazy things are with COVID, I'd feel MUCH safer having my drink knowing that my straw wasn't touched by the hands of somebody else. Of course, I'm sure the staff is following COVID protocol, but still, I'm sure there is a lot of cross contamination in the process of making drinks (touching different drinks, coffee makers, door handles. I just want to be clear about one thing: I drink flavored coffee. I might profess to being "hardcore" when it comes to workouts and eating habits (i.e., a typical evening might involve a tempo run, hill sprints and the consumption of unseasoned bison meat and obscene amounts of kale), but when it comes to my bevies, there is no fooling around. If a drink appeals to a kid, I will most likely love it. Whereas if it's something that involves an age limit or acquired taste, I will most likely despise it. So on the way to visit my 9 year old sister around the holidays, I popped into Simone's to pick up some coffee beans. Like me, my little sister adores flavored coffees and has cultivated quite discriminating taste. She now rejects all grocery store brands and recently proclaimed that Starbucks is, "a waste of energy for my palate." I chose the following flavors for us to try: creme brulee, vanilla nut and almond toffee. And my god, they were all delicious! I strategically set the coffee maker to "delay brew" one night and the next morning the entire house was filled with the most delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee I have ever smelled. I expected to walk into my parent's kitchen to find a frenchman pulling perfect shots of espresso and baking creme brulee. So I lept out of bed, flew down the stairs in my hoodie and cheer shorts like the juvenile that I am and grabbed the largest mug I could find in my parent's cabinet (incidentally some Disney mug with a fairy on it and the word "Tink" written in cursive--nothing I would be seen with in public) and poured myself some coffee. WOW! This stuff is fantastic. I've had my fair share of flavored coffees, but the beans they sell at Simone's are absolutely delicious. My little sister's favorite was the vanilla nut and next time I pay her a visit I'm going to pick up the tirimisu flavor. Yeah, tirimisu flavored coffee. Pretty brilliant. More than any other establishment in Ventura, this place is a place that is always suggested to go to get some coffee beverage or some light pastry-like breakfast item. I'm also reminded of the place when a special someone wears his Simone's shirt. ...and now I see why it's talked about a lot. It's a nice little coffee shop at a corner of a shopping center (as most establishments are located in shopping centers in Ventura), and I assume it's open early for the early risers in need of a coffee fix. The space is adorably decorated and there are many places to just sit and relax with your coffee and scone, and they have a menu that I would otherwise take half a lifetime trying to decide on what to get...if only I were a simple coffee drinker and just ask for a regular cup, my life would be a lot simpler. The place also serves as a boutique, which has not only Simone's merch but also little boutique-y items such as Henry the Talking Gnome and Webkinz. What are Webkinz? I think it's an underground kid furry cult. Either way, you can get that fix there too. Looks like they have wi-fi in the establishment, which is nice for a laptop user like myself, as well as Nintendo DS players...like...my...self... The icing on the cake is that if you get one of the yummy bagels (toasted and with cream cheese) they sell to go, they quarter the bagel for you and neatly wrap it in foil. Finally, a local and independent shop that outranks chain shops in all categories. Taste I had a chai tea vanilla latte. One of the best Ive ever had, not watery at all. Great suggestion miss barista! I also got a quarter pound bag of creme brulee coffee beans which are fantastic. Selection Insane. If you cant go and find something, just leave....move away. Service Friendly and attentive. The baristas seem to really enjoy helping out and answering questions, it really makes a difference. Atmosphere Comfy couches, free wifi, chairs and tables aplenty with a nice ambience. A great place Ill be returning to often. read more

If you happen to be anywhere in the East Ventura area, go a couple block out of the way to avoid the Starbucks (both of them), and get an awesome drink. I like Simones. They make great hot coffee and a super mocha frappachino. I have never seen so many choices for coffee and tea. The place is clean and has plenty of seating. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the noise (from the machines) and the music. Do they play classical music all the time to keep the teens from hanging around? Really great place! It combines boutique with coffee shop; their coffee is fantastic and their tea is great too! My husband was all over their Tanzania Peaberry coffee, which is now his favorite. I had an English Breakfast tea latte, which was made to perfection. Suck it, Starbucks, and your crappy tea lattes. We also had some of their giganto chocolate-dipped biscottis, which almost passed as a meal in and of themselves. We left full, warm, and happy. read more

I am a complete coffee addict and a couple of months ago, when our coffee maker tragically stopped working, I needed to find a place for my morning fix and Simones fit the bill. In the past I have gone to Starbucks, and I honestly have nothing against the chain, but I wanted to try something with a much more old school coffee shop vibe. I really dig everything about this place. The staff is super friendly and I am sure if I started going enough they would eventually no my name. In addition, they have tons of seating space, even on their most crowded days. One thing I also like is that they still have a free coffee program which most of the chain coffee shops have gotten rid of over the past few years, which is utterly ridiculous considering the mark-up on coffee. Anyway, we now have a new coffee maker so I can't justify hitting Simones like I used to but when I am out and about, and need a quick fix, I will definitely be heading here first. read more

More like 3.5 stars. Used to be really good but they keep hiring new people and the quality, more so flavor, of their lattes and blended drinks have gone down. The baristas are friendly of course but most don't look older than 18. Which is fine, but it means teenagers are running the place. There's little consistency in their lattes - I get the same drink twice in two days and they completely taste different. Love the environment and all the seating and their pastries are very delicious. read more

Wow - this is quite the happenin' spot on a Saturday morning. Place was PACKED when I went in here to stock up on some coffee orders for my housemates of the day. Ordered up 5 different coffees and they were all done quick and tasted great. The manager behind the counter was really great about attending to the specifics of the order and the barista working behind the bar was super friendly considering the demands that were on her at the time. Great little shop. If I were living in Ventura, I think you could very easily count me as a regular. In the meantime however, I think we'll just have to count me as a regular - visitor. Five star cafe. Great coffee with lots of options to choose from including a great tea selection. The staff were really friendly and considerate. I had a medium soy latte which was good. It's a bit tucked away in a small shopping center on Telegraph Road -- I really rather like this nice, pleasant little coffee shop. People are friendly and helpful and they have a robust selection of coffees, and hot/ cold coffee-related beverages on the menu. (A little on the pricier side, in my opinion, but it is good stuff). I find when I want creative, strong, great tasting coffee that I end up here. There is a great selection of coffee and the ice coffee/iced latte options are great. I have been coming to Simones since she opened over 20 uears ago I was just there the other day Thursday, and I'm sad to say I was very unhappy with my smoothie I told the girl at the counter my berry smoothies is wrong she kept insisting my smoothie is correct telling me we haven't changes anything she doesn't know what I'm talking about and rude, so I asked to speak with the manto get my money back he told me I will make you another one we haven't changed anything in the smoothie so I agreed he made me another one but it still wasn't the same the color was completely wrong and it tasted like crap then he tells me well we did change our berries!! Well there is your problem after telling me numerous times we didn't change anything the truth finally come out I have ro say your new berries suck and so did the service. I'm sad to say I will probably never go back! Unless they get better service and switch back to the old berries!! read more

This is my coffee addiction. Any time I am in Ventura I make a stop here. If I'm going to be driving through Ventura on my way elsewhere, I'm stopping here. Now, I wouldnt say I am a coffee drinker. I dont drink straight coffee, I drink the blended ones, so "real" coffee drinkers may not want to take my word on this. However, the staff is great and this place is worth a try. Also, they make a chai cocoa, which is half chai tea/half hot chocolate. It is really good. REALLY. Simone's is my favorite place to meet a friend for coffee. There are two quiet nooks with comfortable chairs, a long table for a small staff meeting, and when the weather is nice- outdoor tables are always clean. The small boutique items for sale are unique and reasonably priced. Service is excellent, and there is a wide variety of great coffee and teas.
