This place has a huge menu, from boba drinks to pressed juices, smoothies, and acai bowls. The boba is always fresh and well-cooked. My dad likes it in the boba loca milk tea and my sister in the chocolate Oreo slush. I've tried their lavender milk tea and rose milk tea, but my go to remains the jasmine green tea (completely unsweetened) with sea salt foam. I also opt for aloe Vera instead of boba - it's a lightly sweet and crunchy alternative! The downside to this place is that the service is very slow. Even on days that are not extremely busy or there are a few employees on the clock, we have to wait an excessively long time to get our drinks. Last week, my dad ordered the boba loca milk tea with boba. He had to wait long enough for me to walk to froyolife, get dessert, come back, and then some even though the house blend is pre-prepared. The barista kindly apologized for the wait, she too obviously realizing that the service wasn't quite up to speed. It makes me drive 6 miles from my house to get a simple fix. I don't understand. Believe or not, this is the nearest boba place from where I live. How is that possible? I don't know. I've been to this place several times. I usually order almost the same thing when I visit: blended taro milk tea with boba. It hits the spot most of the time, but there are days when I think, "What did I just slurped?" Service is usually quick. I'm in and out within just a few minutes, but sometimes they run out of boba and you have to wait 25 minutes. I know they sell mostly boba drinks, but I wish they also serve some popcorn chicken. Oh well... no foul. They never mentioned anything like that anywhere on their menu. Sure! I'll send my sis-in-law for her boba fix here. I vowed I wouldn't go back to this place after they used spoiled milk in my drink and I ended up getting sick immediately after, but I decided to go back again thanks to this quarantine. Placed an order and went in to pick up and regretted it immediately. My Thai iced tea literally tasted like water with boba because they obviously didn't put any sweet condensed milk in it (which is how you're suppose to make it) and the taro milk tea literally just tasted like straight 2% milk with boba. I understand some places don't have all the ingredients due to our situations at the moment but if that is the case then don't make the drink and offer another option. I'm a frequent fan at the Boba Loca location in Burbank, I was excited to see that there was a location right next to my house! The location is kind of hidden to me, thank God for Yelp, or else I've actually really passed by this place millions of times and had never seen it. Parking is only available on the street or the free parking lot a block away, which is where I parked. The inside is completely different from the Boba Loca in Burbank. It's a more laid out venue, with many seating available, and they even sell macaroons! The menus are displayed on TVs, and the inside is clean. Only thing was the floors looked dirty, but I believe that's just the color.. The employees are super nice and quick with their service. There was nearly no one in the store when I walked in. I ordered ToGo from Eat24, being that I had many orders. Everything was ready and easy to take once I arrived there. Final results: Everything tastes a little TOO watery. Mine and my boyfriends Thai Tea was a slush, which came out more like it was just mixed with water and had ice cubes stuck into it. The boba was smaller than usual... On the acai bowls, I asked for extra strawberries and did not receive them. The bowl also lacked flavor, but I enjoyed it anyway. Overall, this place would not be my first choice, maybe their employees need more training on how to make the drinks. And for now I'd much rather drive to the burbank location. read more

Randomly stumbled upon this spot after dinner in Old Town Montrose. We wanted to hang out somewhere with wifi so we can get some work done. Lo and behold, whilst strolling through Old Town, we saw young college-aged people working here, some with laptops. I'm familiar with the Boba Loca logo/franchise though I haven't been to one in years. Upon entering, there was no hello or any sort of greeting. We had literally just walked in and glanced at the overwhelming menu all in LESS THAN THREE seconds, and this young guy asked us in a very impatient and tactless tone, 'READY TO ORDER?!' I was shocked. Boy, we hadn't even been here for one good minute. No hello, no welcome, nothing. Instead of using that tone and that phrase, might I suggest saying, 'Let me know when you're ready to order'? The whole thing was off-putting, to say the least. I hope the owner/manager would train their young workers better manners when it comes to customer service. I got a regular Thai Milk Tea with boba, upgraded to large with the Yelp check-in offer. The drink was good and tasted like your regular Thai Milk Tea at any other average boba spot. My bf got the Jasmine Milk Tea with pudding. This drink tasted bland and watered down. The interior itself was not the cleanest. The huge communal table had not been wiped, with visible trash still left on it. The two young employees did not bother to clean within the 2-3 hour duration we were there. Mind you, it wasn't even a busy night. I love my neighborhood boba and juice joint! I get the hot jasmine milk tea with boba during the winter and the creamy jasmine tea with sea salt cream and boba during the summer with a few variations into rose milk tea, honey jasmine tea, and the juices. I don't drink coffee that regularly so the teas are really my caffeine fix and it's a treat. I get things half sweet because I don't want to get too dehydrated from what I drink. And of course I get the large size. I think, now, the store shop people can probably even recognize me because I am that consistent and frequent in what I order. I like what I like. There are places that will have more flavor variations, but I think Boba Loca delivers me these flavors the best throughout the year. read more

I ended up ordering the salted caramel milk tea. It was really delicious. Others ordered mango, water melon, and white chocolate-- I also liked the white chocolate. Service is very fast! The store is very clean and has different sitting areas. They have some board games and others such as Jenga! They always have a variety of juices and smoothies and iced drinks. I asked what their most popular drink is and they said any of the fresh smoothies or the chai latte drinks. The smoothies are extremely fresh tasting and the boba is very soft and fresh. I have heard that the peach guava drink is a really good one, so that is on my list to try! Went 7/30/21. Got 2 jasmine milk tea boba. 1 had about 10 boba and was watered down tea without any sugar. Asked for the 2nd one to be blended and they just blended it without any ice. Didn't notice until I left. Was speechless when I found out the blended jasmine milk tea was blended without any ice. Was the same watered down tea without any sugar and was warm because it had no ice. The level of incompetence is astounding. I'm totally speechless. If you are the owner of this place, you need to retrain your employees stat. Your current incompetent inexperienced employees are going to ruin your business. read more

They only have 1 bench table for anyone to sit at - so unless your party arrives before anyone else, don't plan on staying to drink your juice. I'll include a photo of the menu - but "grande" sized drinks are $10!!! And I don't think there are any other sizes. Paying with a card, you're opted to tip when you sign the screen (Really? You can't just have an optional cash tipping jar like everyone else?). I awkwardly felt obligated to do the minimum of 15% which I wasn't real happy about on my first visit without being wowed by the service and having no idea if I was going to like their product, so our 2 drinks were well over $20. Ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the 2nd drink in my order was forgotten... they seemed disorganized behind the counter and 2 different people who ordered after me got their drinks first. They don't call out any names, and since there are very few menu items it's easy to steal someone else's drink who ordered the same thing before you. When I finally got my order after about 10-15 min, they couldn't find any more straws. The girl at the register kept pointing to a cabinet (almost like it was "beneath" her to look herself), and the girl making the drinks couldn't find them. Eventually they found some, and I was glad to be able to leave. My biggest complaint was that my friend and I didn't like our drinks. I got a Strawberry Fields and she got an Endless Summer. My Strawberry Fields drink had chunks of bee pollen in it - almost like gritty boba, and I got a headache right after drinking it. Sorry guys - I know you're new so I want to cut you some slack (I did give you 2 stars instead of 1), but it was not a good experience. The taro slush itself was so watered down, I couldn't even taste the powder substance they used to make the "taro" slush. The water to powder ratio was wayyyyy off. The tapioca itself was really hard, beyond the chewy consistency. I could tell it was just sitting there for hours. I didn't even finish my drink, it was so disappointing. If this place was such a healthy juice joint, why not carry acai bowls??? The reason why I walked in here in the first place was to see if they had acai bowls.
