We arrived and my friend was trying to hold it together, and started crying. Carol and Tiffany immediately asked what was wrong, and she shared that she was processing her grief. Both ladies held space for her, comforted her, and shared stories of their personal loss as well. What was supposed to be a casual pedicure ended up being a beautiful therapy session, as they painted our toes, they also offered comfort, support, and genuine love. I am so grateful for this experience. They not only did a wonderful pedicure, but they were genuinely so kind and sweet. They even offered my friend some tea and biscuits at the end. This type of service went above and beyond and I cannot thank these ladies enough for bringing such comfort to me and my friend during this difficult time. The place is pricey, $70 (which wound up being $72 and change on my debit card which was not explained to me) for a manicure/pedicure. I'm used to spending $50. I chose wellness due to long massages as part of the service. I quite liked the arms/shoulders/neck massage. However, the legs/feet was lacking. Not enough pressure and the feet mostly ignored. I also noticed my friend's legs/feet massage was SUBSTANTIALLY longer than mine and her person (younger man) attended well to her feet. That is my biggest complaint, a lackluster and way too short legs/feet massage. My next complaint is the cursory attention to my intense calluses on my feet and cracked skin heels. He maybe used the pumice stone for 20 seconds on each foot ! THIS is such an important part of a pedicure, coming away with soft feet. My feet were exactly the same when I left as when I came in. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Certainly NOT worth spending $70!!! One of the other things that softens feet for a proper pedicure is soaking them in treated warm water. A bowl of tepid water arrived, but it was not warm enough and my feet HARDLY got a chance to soak making the soak useless. I came here because of the stellar reviews and nail pics on Yelp and social media, but the service…read moreand quality of work were extremely disappointing and did not match my expectations. I do not recommend getting a Gel-X mani here. First, the recommendation I was given didn't make sense. My natural nails had grown out pretty long, so I asked for hard gel. Multiple staff members recommended Gel-X extensions instead for the design I wanted. My natural nails were only slightly shorter than my reference image, but I wanted to trust their expertise. I was wrong. I chose the shorter extension length and it ended up being the same length of my natural nail before the tech cut them, so the extensions added nothing and I unnecessarily had my nails cut. Second, the application quality doesn't match the price. There are ill-fitting corners throughout. Rather than sizing up to an extension that fit my nail bed, the tech filed down my side walls to force the smaller one to fit, which hurt. One extension on my index finger is visibly crooked. I pointed it out and was told it looked straight - looking at it again and in photos, it's clearly off-center. There's also still cured gel on my skin, which is a contact dermatitis risk. Third, the pricing was not transparent. I paid $115 for a Gel-X removal and Gel-X manicure. The pricing on the website and at check-in is confusing, and when I showed my inspiration photo up front, no one quoted me. The tech told me the price, $155, only after she had already started the design. I got it down to $115 by dropping the star flakes, which were $40 on their own. I want to pay techs fairly for their work, but $40 for star flakes isn't worth it. To be fair, there were genuine positives. I called to let them know I was running 10 minutes late and the staff were completely understanding about it. And when I asked for a swirl cat eye design, my tech told me upfront that it was above her skill level rather than overpromising. She still gave it a shot, and I really appreciated that honesty. Overall, I can't recommend this place. The quality of work and service don't match the price, and what frustrates me more is that the staff didn't listen to my questions and were quick to shut me down instead of working with me. Given the reviews here, I'll assume this isn't the standard, and that it's fixable.
