Finally a good Middle Eastern place in Kansas City. Once you've had the real deal, it's hard to find something good in the USA, and Sinbad's Grill is GREAT! That was delicious! I stopped in today to grab lunch to go. It's a small menu, but hard to decide. I ended up with Spicy Gyro sandwich combo to go. My mouth was watering as I watched them prepare the food. I drove home as fast as I could [safely]. The fries were perfect. The tzatziki was perfect. The gyro was perfect (and spicyyyy), but like not "you're gonna die spicy", but still "you better like spicy" spicy. Huge portion for the price, especially since it included a drink. We came upon this place as we were driving around. It's easy to miss but it's worth the stop. Everyone that works there is so nice and happy . Great attitudes and very accommodating. They explained the different options and there is a variety to choose from. We shared the hummus which was fantastic. The pita was warm and fluffy. The hummus was creamy with just a hint of lemon - very unique and crave-able. I had the barbecue chicken and it was seasoned to perfection. It came with salad and jasmine rice. The garlic sauce added to the flavor and the portions were very good. Don't miss the dessert, the baklava was sweet and flaky and unique. God I love Mediterranean food. And this place is so good. It's a small restaurant, but they are going to grow and expand. They take a lot of pride in their food and cook it well and prepare it exquisitely. Their ingredients are fresh and delicious. They also have a lot of funny and clever artwork there, so you really have to go check it out for yourself. We took the whole family and we each got something we enjoyed. I gauge Mediterranean restaurants by the good old-fashioned gyro. And they did not disappoint a monster serving of meat on top of rice cooked very very well and it was delicious my only recommendation would be to add more vegetables and feta in order to balance out the flavor profile a little bit better. Oh man that was a lot of meat. My wife got a mixed plate with falafel veggies, hummus, and baba ghanouj. To her this is the best baba ghanouj in the city. The kids got chicken wraps and scarfed it down pretty darn quick they loved it. And did I mention that their fries are off the hook? Perfectly fried and crispy on the outside and Joey soft on the inside. I don't know where they got the fries but they're so freaking good. Their ingredients are super fresh and extremely colorful, so that makes it automatically delicious. Overall this is a very solid place for delicious Mediterranean food. I'm usually a faithful to Mr. Gyro's across the street, as it's been a favorite of mine for years, but last week I had a craving and realized Mr. Gyro's was already closed for carry-out for the evening so I decided to give this new place a try. I spent 2 weeks in Greece when I was 18 so I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mediterranean food, being pregnant my tastes are even more particular at the moment. I ordered the gyro platter, which came with rice, sauce and a salad. My husband just got a large Greek salad and we shared an order of hummus. My husband enjoyed his salad but wished it would've come with a bit more dressing. I was a bit disappointed with the portion size on my included side salad, as it was basically just a few bites of lettuce with some feta and an olive, a couple sliced cucumbers would've been a nice addition. The rice was good and the gyro meat was very tender and delicious. Neither of us were huge fans of the hummus but the pita it came with was nice and chewy and tasty. I ordered extra tzatziki sauce like I usually do at other places but their sauce was a bit more sour (?) than I'm used to so I didn't really need the extra. Overall, a decent takeout experience, very efficient curbside pickup during the current quarantine. I might return to try a gyro sandwich at some point in the future, but my heart still belongs across the street. read more

Wanted a quick lunch so popped in to give it a try. It's a simple operation with a limited menu posted on signage above the counter. It wasn't until after ordering/paying I realized staff were not masked. The (apparent) owners were filling to-go sauce containers from a salad bar and talking right over the lettuce, etc. The cook was wiping his nose across the back of his hand and the whole affair didn't appear particularly clean. A better choice for similar food is literally across Metcalf at Mr. Gyros. Bigger portions, more flavor, and a staff who cares enough about their customers to practice hygiene. read more

The food is above average which is why we return, but no one should have to argue with staff every single time, EVERY TIME, for sauce that was left out of the bag. Since first visiting, I returned 2 weeks later. It is located right nearby to Mr. Gyros, and as an avid Mr. Gyros fan I was hesitant to try something new but similar. Thank goodness I gave it a try, as I have found one of my new favorite restaurants. Both times, one of the co-owners has been there to take my order. He's extremely friendly! This place was amazing! There was only one worker when we arrived but he was working very quickly and was still extremely helpful and generous. It was our first time coming to this restaurant so he gave us a side of hummus on the house (which was the BEST hummus I have ever had). The falafel sandwich was really good and the fries were amazing, obviously fresh and homemade. The store was pretty small so don't expect to find seating if they're really busy but lunch time on a Monday didn't seem too busy so it really depends. I highly recommend this place!
