The bartender was extremely friendly and helped me pick out a cider I'd never had before which I thought was delicious! He knew I was trying to decide and poured me a sample of his favorite without me even needing to ask, and it was a great call. There's a certain cozy energy in this place with the dim-but-not-dark lighting that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy some food and drink. I had the prime rib french dip and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The next time I go back I'm going to have a hard time choosing between one of the many excellent sounding dishes on the menu and just getting this sandwich again!

Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The slaw is spicy and tangy, and paired with the crisp fried chicken and mayonnaise, it makes for a very excellent sandwich.
