This place has an ideal location! Right across the street from the Standing on a corner landmark. This place was super busy when we walked in. I snagged the last table while my dad went to the counter to get menus. My menu literally fell apart! The food is average. Not good or bad. They have hotdogs, and sandwiches. Food was responsibly priced which was nice. There was some nice character in this place. They have this really cool vault door. But there really isn't any upkeep going on. My husband and I visit Winslow at least 4-6 times a year from Phoenix and the Sipp Shoppe is a must stop for us. The food is wonderful and their root beer floats are to die for. Crepes, sandwiches, soup, sweets, it's all great. They have a steady flow of customers all day so there can be a wait at times but it's totally worth it. Very bad. Would not recommend. There was one employee (the young lady with the purple hair - she deserves a raise and a promotion since she's obviously the only responsible one who works here) who was the ONLY one who had on gloves, a mask, and had her hair pulled all the way back. The rest of the employees did not have any masks on, no gloves, and I witnessed several occasions where their hair fell into the ice cream in addition to their dirty hands in there digging it out. Gross gross gross On top of it all, the place was completely packed. Absolutely no social distancing was enforced and half the patrons didn't have masks on either. My wife had the Texas (Mother Load) Dog with chili, cheese and onions. I had the Arizona Dog it does not come with chili but had a nice array of veggies, Jalapeños, banana peppers, cucumbers, pepper jack cheese and a nice jalapeño sauce. Located in an historic bank built in 1904. The vaults are visible and are on both floors. The ceiling is of tin workmanship and the trim has been restored in a beautiful gold color. We decided on this place to hang out hat because it was adjacent from the corner. You roll in and the staff welcomes you. I don't believe the AC was working because it was HOT/Stuffy in here. We wait a little bit longer than expected for our order and it was your typical sandwich with a homemade liking to it. Hubby is a vanilla/chocolate in a waffle cone kind of guy. If there is something different I am willing to say the heck with calories. The Ice cream is homemade and the service has been good. Loved this little gem in Winslow, AZ. It's located in Route 66 in the heart of town, use to be an old bank in the early 1800's but now converted into a food and coffee shop.
