We came in right at 9 when they closed... i know :( but we wanted to try it so bad and our schedule only lets us go at night, despite being kind of annoying and coming in late, they just told us since the kitchen is closing soon that we could only order our meats and stuff ONCE, we did. I guess watching Korean dramas influence your taste buds... It's been a while since we were here, and today was a perfect time. Made it in during lunch price... Downside, the galbi ribs are only during dinner .. you could pay for the dinner price and get the ribs. Ordered the salad, the potstickers, won tons and the Korean tofu soup. Salad was a green salad, and very large (you could just split one). Ordered the pork belly, bulgogi, and Hawaiian steak.. with the added vegetables... Best was the Hawaiian steak, second round was the Hawaiian steak, veggies and soy sauce shrimp.. Hawaiian steak and veggies were perfect. We went for lunch on a Sunday. It wasn't too packed by 1 pm. We got seated immediately. I love their prices. Since it was lunch, it was about $27 per person for AYCE. Their dinner price is a little more, but it comes with an extended menu. My favorite was the marinated brisket. The servers were all very nice too! read more

So we have been coming here for some time now and the new owners are really awesome! They're so friendly and welcoming. The place is always nice and clean. They've added a couple of robot servers that bring in your food and take away your plates. Pretty nifty and progressive. They also have added new drinks on their menu like pink lemonade and Arnold Palmer. Also, they have added new flavors to their Korean alcoholic drink Soju. I ordered the passion fruit Soju with guava. It was so delicious! Too bad I forgot to take a picture. Found another favorite drink! Anyway, the chef who is also the owner brought a special type of cut of meat that I was told was difficult to remove from the cow, and what you do is sear (not cook) one side of the meat, just enough to sear it with the top side still tartare and it has onions and scallions. Then you fold the meat and dip it in the seasoning of your choice then pop it in to your mouth. He was not able to give me the name in English and I couldn't quite get what it's called in Korean. Their fried muscle appetizer is so good my daughter had seconds. And their salad dressing--I'm hoping they will soon sell them in bottles. What I like is that their menu is not as extensive and you get to enjoy the ones that you really like and are popular to order. And...they have octopus! One thing I forgot to ask was if they sell gift certificates. I want a few more of my friends to try this place because so many of my friends already come here on the regular. Visited some family in Reno and was recommended this Korean BBQ spot to eat dinner at- I was not disappointed!! As LA born-and-raised, I'm quite picky when it comes to my KBBQ preferences. Siu KBBQ really satisfied everything I was looking for ESPECIALLY for this price. We got the regular starter meats like brisket and moved onto the galbi and pork belly as we went. All of the meats were full of flavor and the textures were so on point! Another really good option were the sides. I LOVED the king oyster mushrooms that you can order in bulk because in my opinion? That's the most flavorsome and fragrant mushroom out there and they don't skimp on giving you a hefty portion :) Lastly, I have little understanding as to why people are complaining about service + rules. Where I'm from, you'd be subjected to harsher rules in CA and wouldn't bat an eye. Food waste and small things like them enforcing the no outside food rule are completely reasonable. This place was an absolute shitshow of a restaurant... First off, we came on a monday evening where it was relatively dead, they said about 10-15 mins wait time for a table of 3 but half the tables were empty. There was leftover food/plates from previous guests... tables werent being buszed and everyone was working with their heads cut off... The host sat us down, didnt introduce herself or welcome us in, didnt tell us how this place worked or who our server would be. We had a total of 5 different servers tonight. We ordered off a dumb piece of paper ? (But they have a robot that serves food...?? No one came by to take our paper with our order on it or explained how it worked... after 20 mins, they finally took out paper w/ our order (and took our pen too, how tf are we supposed to order more for AYCE??) The next random server doesnt introduce herself and brings us someone elses appetizers, we did in and they had the audacity to ask for it back?? WTF?? Food was meh, appetizers were NOT good... we decided to try 4 different meats, no pen... luckily my girlfriend had one in her purse, filled out the paper, no one stopped by... another server came to tell us kitchen stops taking orders at 9:00pm... its 8:15... she doesnt take our paper and never comes back... a busser comes out of nowhere around 8:40pm, asks if everything is ok... we said we have been waiting to give our second order but given that its late and we're tired if bad service, we asked for the check... The busser gives us the bill ?? Our first 3 servers never return, we pay thru the busser ?? Then our first server comes and asks us how everything was??? The only thing she gave us was water and never came back?? All in all, I'm not sure why this place had high reviews?? Worth it I love that they adopted the AYCE sushi ordering style, and they give you papers to fill out when ordering. Food was delivered by robots, that also take away dirty dishes! (Adorable) They did wait a while in between letting us order - which obviously slowed down our eating... but we did come in close to closing - which might explain it. The French fries and chicken nuggets seem weird on the menu, but for the kids and picky eaters - I get it. Overall appetizers get 6/10. The meat was delicious/good quality - the portions are small (again, close to closing time) And they do not offer ice cream :( read more

Ate there yesterday. I was greeted as I came in. The place looked clean. I was a bit confused on the "All you can eat" option as I wasn't very sure what was being served. I associate "all you can eat" with all you can eat sushi or a buffet at a casino. So I guess one half of the restaurant is divided for "all you can eat " and the other half if for sit down/ a la carte. I chose the sit down/ a la carte side. The restroom was a little stinky/ gross. I went to wash my hands and the soap dispenser didn't work. Oh well. At least they had running water and the paper towel dispenser worked. I ordered the tri tip Korean BBQ and fried oysters for appetizer. You get about 10 pieces of small fried oysters which comes with a dipping sauce. They were good. The bbq tri tip was very good. I was advised that the plate did not include rice. I wondered that Asian restaurants usually include a small portion of rice. No worries. I got 4 thin sliced tri tip steaks. The steaks were cooked perfectly in my opinion. They were tender and seared nicely. The service was great. The waitress checked up on me periodically and made sure I can water the whole time. I guess this place makes boba teas also. I would've tried one if they asked and gave me a drink menu. They were making some for a group of kids. It smelled good from where I was sitting. I went here with my boyfriend and the food was delicious we both loved the spicy pork belly and beef belly also the chardol. Overall the food was delicious. Went here again for my dads birthday with my family and it was even better a second time. Friendly staff as well the servers they're are always checking on us and the atmosphere is great. Anyone wanting authentic Korean bbq this is the place to go. The flavors of all the meats and the appetizers are great. My brother loves the spicy pork galbi and the fried dumplings and oysters I myself also think they're very good. If I could give a -5 star review I would but unfortunately yelp only allows for 1 star at lowest. Just a FYI for all THIS IS A BUFFET I REPEAT A BUFFET. This review is from my personal opinion/experience. I am in no way stating that this is the normal experience at this establishment. I couldn't believe that a restaurant could have both (in my opinion) questionable food quality and service. The entire restaurant has 3-4 tables full (when we first arrived) and we still had to ask for service multiple times. The server (bless her heart) was just as confused as we were half the time. The vacuum was well it was "working" please see the air quote. It was on low or not even on half the time. I ate more smoke than food if I'm being honest (the photo shown is the calmer smoke situation, it got so much worst after). As you might know a Korean grill plate should be non stick. We place the meat down for I would say one min max, it was burnt so dark I could've mistaken it for coal. We had to change the grill three time in a span of 1 hour. And trust me we were watching that plate to try to prevent the burn. But even with this I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because you know maybe it was just an off day or perhaps our way of cooking was different. Now onto the food, this place is for Korean BBQ emphasis on BBQ. We had more shrimp than actually beef because the quality of the beef was so bad. However it was not the worst thing in the world but for $36/person, I guess we just expected a little better quality. The miso soup just made me sad. It was sour and salty. How can miso soup be sour!?! The whole soup was just liquid no seaweed and one piece of tofu. The kimchi was lemonly sour as opposed to the typical vinger sour. I have never left a bad review in my life, you can check every review I've written so far. Even when the food or service is mediocre, I have never brought it up. Overall never ever coming here again. Fried clams, dumplings, wontons and noodles for appetizers- eaten before and during the meal, just kept reordering... then the vegetables and meats, such wonderful flavors. We came to Siu Korean BBQ for a work promotion celebration, and I'm happy I chose to come here! It's very straight forward! You order what meats you want, what veggies you want, and they bring it for you to cook! Most of the meats cook pretty quickly and and everything tasted great! Service was great! Any time we needed our grill plate changed, needed some more seasoning or oil, sides or meat, they were very quick to bring it out. Atmosphere: it was pretty quiet as there weren't many people there in our section and the idea of cooking my own food was pretty cool! TLDR: Go here if you enjoy Korean BBQ (or want to find out how that works), and seeing the look on people's faces (my kids especially) when the robot servers come around Apparently I failed to ever submit my original review, but I couldn't recommend SIU enough when I first found them, the food and service were outstanding. Then the pandemic put a crimp in everyone's style. After they opened back up, they managed to maintain the same quality of food and service. When I came back a bit later (around 6ish months ago I think), I noticed something had changed. The service wasn't quite the same and the food seemed a little different though I couldn't place it. Then came my wife and kids requests for dessert, and that's when I learned that the owners had changed and they had stopped serving dessert . That being said, we've been back twice more since and while they still haven't brought back the dessert , the service has gotten much better and the food while still seems a little different is very good none the less. Bonus points, they now have cute little robots delivering the plates of meats and sides to the tables in addition to the hard working wait staff. They are still my recommendation every time I want some KBBQ, and I look forward to seeing what they do next. read more

New owner? All I know is that there were new servers and the food changed. There were a few first day servers and almost all of the servers/bus staff could not communicate with the customers. Order a soda and be prepared for a real odyssey. Even water was coming back cloudy - I think it was partially lemonade. Food was the real disappointment. The robot server was funny, but the Galbi was tougher than usual, the shrimp were waterlogged. The baby octopus and bulgogi was super over seasoned. The onions, king mushrooms and beef belly were good. I can't believe the salad was the highlight. No rice paper - something about Sacramento taking all of it. Grill change was scary - the server just used the tongs and it looked like they were gonna drop it. When we first ordered, no one lit our grill. We ordered a miso soup - had to be the darkest I have ever seen. Also tasted more like salted mushrooms. Hard to find much right here. I really wanted to score higher but these poor young ladies were confused, brought us the wrong food, didn't know the menu, had a chance to add to the bill by bringing us another beer but never asked, also left us choking in smoke by not changing the grill pan. Cleanliness- 3 stars. The tables were clean and nicely set but the floors were slick with oil. I'm not sure how they can do a quick clean on this but someone is going to fall. Jonesing for some Korean ayce bbq, I talked my folks into going instead of a crummy Reno casino buffet. This is sans Atlantis buffet which is a good buffet at 4 stars. It is located in a strip mall that looks dated like many Reno/Sparks strip malls. I saw it was next to a boba shop. Hehe. We were greeted right away. The place was very big but the seating seemed partitioned and walls etc making it seem intimate yet tight and small. Grills were in the middle of each table. Ayce is $17.99 for lunch and $26.99 for dinner. We came for lunch which misses a couple galbis, one bone-in and one boneless, plus NY steak and beef tongue. So 4 meats is the difference between mealtimes. Lunch is from 11-4 and dinner from 4-close. We could get soup choice and 3 apps and 5 meats ordered at a time. Sides do not count so I got the king oyster mushroom and a couple others. They bring out 4 banchan. Fewest I have ever seen in similar K-bbq ayce. Usually, 10 or so at Gen Korean and OZ. Over the course of 2 hrs we got the spicy tofu soup, potstickers, gyoza and fried oysters, lemongrass chix and one more chix, a couple pork bellies and Hawaiian steak, most of the beef including bulgogis and calamari, spicy shrimp and baby octopus. We left most of the chicken alone, same with a few pork that were not bellies and did not go for the small beef intestines. Service was pretty good. It in no way competes with Gen Korean in Las Vegas. The waitstaff there teams up. I never had better service in ANY restaurant than at that Gen K (check out my review of them). However, the person grabbing empty places was on point. She would be there asap to grab empties and fill waters. The waitress would be back often enough but not that much once 4-5 tables were seated. But I did not starve waiting like some reviews saying the wait for the next round was long. She came around the right time when I was nearly done with a round so that new order would come when we finished the previous round. That is what counts! She also changed the grill 2x. Just oftem enough when they had char marks stuck on most areas. Green tea ice cream included topped off our experience. To conclude, a good joint for such fare in Sparks. I read reviews prior to coming and they have 1 other competitor in R/S. The other is Ijii4 which has a $19.99 lunch $29.99 dinner tag but a bunch more items and a 10% off Yelp for 1. Ijii is a 4.5 on Yelp and Siu comes in with a 4. I want to try Ijii next time Iam near Reno before deciding who wins the battle of the two warriors of KBBQ ayce game in this part of town. This place has a strong GOOD service rating by me and an enjoyable time with the meats. One + is that this place had overhead ventilation meaning our clothes did not smell like smoke afterwards like other ones I mentioned previously. Negative would be the menu for lunch is much smaller than Gen or OZ. Maybe 18 total items with chix, pork, beef and seafood not counting apps or soup. Gen and OZ maybe 30+. Absolute biggest negative was that they only include 4 banchan vs. 10+ elsewhere. Overlooking those 2 negatives would land them at a solid "4" rating in my book. read more

Side note: I have been to many Korean BBQ in California so my standards are pretty high. Lunch buffet came to $23.81 after taxes. Quality of food: Overall the food was mediocre. I ordered all pork dishes (Sate/Lemon Grass/Spicy Pork) and all of them were around 6.5/10. The flavor was not really there. The sauces however were pretty good 8/10 for the samjung and sesame oil with garlic dipping sauce. The best thing I ordered was the fried oysters which is part of the lunch buffet. I give the oysters a 10/10. Service: The service was really good. Constantly filled my water without asking. Waitress came every 5-10 min to check on me. Dessert: The only dessert that comes with the lunch buffet is a single scoop of vanilla ice cream with no sides :( Overall: I give the food about a 6/10 and the service a 10/10. Plan on stinking like bbq eating here because the owners are cutting costs by leaving the individual hood vent fans OFF during dinner service. And they got rid of lunch service for the same reason. Do yourself a favor if you do eat here - stay away from the marinated sugar bombed meats because it's an effort to fill you up and avoid having you eat the better and more of the pricier cuts of meat. Also you don't need dessert there too because there ain't any. Also note that a side of lettuce gives you THREE leaves. And the kitchen can't be bothered with slicing up garlic for you so you'll have to grill the, whole tiny order of garlic cloves. They have robot food deliverers now which is cool. Too bad a robot can't replace the management because they blow harder than Popeye on spinach. Without significant improvements, I imagine this place will be done within a year if that. read more

The food is delicious here. To start, I had the pot stickers, fried oysters and the tofu soup. I then ordered the various meats and shrimp to grill right at the table. The meats I tried were the spicy pork belly, tri tip, Hawaiian beef. For the shrimp. I got the whole shrimp with the shell on. Everything was grilled to perfection and I added the spices and sauces to add extra delicious flavor to the meats and shrimp. You also can choose from a variety of veggies to grill. This was the first place I had ever had Korean bbq and have now fallen in love with all Korean food! The staff is always so nice and attentive even on super busy nights. I would highly recommend reservations for all parties during the weekend as they are super busy but for just two people we've never had a wait during the week, would probably still do reservations for large groups. This was my first time here! 1 arrived around 6PM on a Friday night and we waited only 5 minutes to get seated. If we came any later, there would be a long wait.  once you are seated the food is really good for an "all you can eat" type of service. All of the meats that we ordered were flavored well. It was also so much cheaper than the well-known other kbbq places in Reno. Good music selection, waiters were attentive, and the food came out pretty quick. Siu still continues to be a very solid choice in KBBQ. Service was top notch throughout the entire dining experience. Waters were refilled in a timely manner and our grill top was consistently changed. The food itself was also very good. Between the two choices in Reno, Siu seems to be the place that actually has rice paper available. We picked the meat dinner choices for a wider variety. All the meats were pretty good, but my one complaint is I wish the beef tongue and brisket were sliced a little bit thicker. Overall though we'd come back to satisfy our KBBQ needs. read more
