What I really disliked about this place was the Seafood Bird's Nest. Initially, they thought I ordered a Seafood Delight, but my order was missing the noodles. But they basically just fried up some noodles real quick and threw it under. And that part wouldn't have been a problem for me, but it was honestly waaaay too salty (and I like really salty! so that says a lot to me) It was difficult to eat to be honest, but I of course didn't want to waste it. The seafood included 3 pieces of shrimp, about a stick of imitation crab meat, a couple small pieces of scallop, and A LOT of calamari pieces that were soooo tough to chew, we couldn't even really eat them! For the chicken lettuce, they gave us about 3 full pieces of lettuce that was cut up and then charged us $4.00 for more pieces of lettuce which is pretty pricey lol. The siu mai was mid.. but you get what you pay for. There was also a 3% additional kitchen surcharge which was weird...? Still not sure what that was for lol. And then on top of that there's another 3% charge if you use credit card, so just be aware of that. The service was fine, because there was basically no one else in the restaurant anyway. Also - my boyfriend told me they had no soap in the restroom at all which was inconvenient. Overall, the price of their food does not make sense for the level of quality. I wouldn't recommend to my peers to come here, except maybe just grab their roast duck to go.

The shrimp came lightly battered with onion, garlic, & ginger on it. The perfect savory combo. At first glance, I was wondering where the seafood was because I just saw a few shrimp. I later realized there was calamari as well. A very flavorful dish. Service was good, despite them mentioning they were short staffed. I even recognized our waiter as I remember him working there before the new owners took over.

I got my favorite, Teishoku B which includes Teriyaki Steak, Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura, and a few slices of Ahi Sashimi. I wanted my steak Medium Well and it was perfectly done and the teriyaki sauce was a good balance of tangy and sweet. Pour a few drops of Shoyu on the Sashimi and dip it in the Hot Mustard sauce in the middle of the tray. The star of my tray is the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. They fillet the shrimp so it was a HUGE shrimp tempura piece along with strands of carrots in tempura batter, tempura asparagus and a tempura eggplant. It was so crispy and tasty. I've been to Japan and this is Japan level tempura and the best on Maui, hands down. I came around 1 pm and they close at 1:30 pm and I got my order in 5 minutes with maybe 4-5 parties seated around me. The aunties were attentive and helpful. Our favorites were the Spicy Basil (pad krapow) and Mom's Sausage (sai oua). The pad krapow comes with ground meat, as it should, and has that savory, spicy, fragrant flavor I look for. Mom's Sausage is incredibly flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The Pad Mama is another standout. It's a simple Thai comfort dish made with instant noodles, but they do it perfectly. And don't skip the mango sticky rice! The sticky rice was warm, soft, and pillowy, and the mango was perfectly ripe. Everyone here is super friendly too. The interior is cute, creative, and full of little details that show how much thought went into the place. They even play Thai country music in the background. One tip for first-timers: when you arrive, grab a menu from the check-in spot outside the restaurant, to the left of the dining area. Then head into the dining area and they'll seat you.
