Disappointed after reading so many glowing reviews I had read so many 5-star reviews and was really looking forward to trying Sixty Vines. The setting outside was beautiful, but we didn't love getting pelted with acorns from the oak trees above -- it was a bit distracting. There were seven of us, and things started out fine with drinks arriving in reasonable time. Then dinner became quite the experience. One couple ordered a pizza and truffle fries -- only to be told they were out of truffle fries. Our granddaughter wanted a specific burger -- out of that too. I ordered the sharable wood-fired shrimp and Brussels sprouts as my meal, and my husband ordered the roasted cauliflower so we could share. Another in our group ordered mussels and cauliflower. When the food started arriving, the pizza, pasta, and mussels came out first. Then we were told they were out of cauliflower as well. It took another 30 minutes before my shrimp and Brussels sprouts arrived -- by then, everyone else was nearly finished. A very polite young woman came by to explain that the restaurant serves "family style" and brings dishes out as they're ready from the kitchen. I appreciate the explanation, but that doesn't quite excuse having part of our group waiting half an hour while others eat. She apologized and said she'd look at our bill, but I told her we weren't looking for a discount -- we just wanted to eat together. Our server never addressed the issue. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. If you want to eat somewhere that's frequently out of menu items, where dishes come out at random times, and some of your food arrives cold, this might be your place -- but it won't be mine again. read more

Well my favorite restaurant's cover is blown at the Domain. Austin knows great food, great wine, great service and, and as it's cooling off, the unique outdoor seating under a beautiful oak. It's coming into it's first year anniversary, and 60 Vines is as excellent as the day it opened. The fried chicken with lemon, creme fresh, and caviar may be the single best best thing I have ever put in my mouth. The mussels are plump and fresh. The wine list varies, and they prefer to pour from the casks. (Should I even mention the Sunday brunch? No, shhh.) We have come to know the servers and seating hosts. Megatron, Kat, Drew and Bee. The manager, Eric, knows and understands his 30 or so staff. The chefs know their food well, so try everything. We have been there for special occasions, non-special occasions, and pure unadulterated cravings. I've been in Austin since 1984. M husband has lived here since 1981. We've seen a lot of Austin restaurants come and go -- but 60 Vines is here to stay. read more

First time trying this restaurant was for a girls night. We were first greeted with a glass of champagne as we waited for our table. The service was great and they made it a point to not only accommodate but go above and beyond for a gluten allergy. We split the burrata and cheese board and everything was divine. The salads were plentiful and fresh. The filet was tender and delicious. The frozen machine was broke so we couldn't try the frozen aperol spritz but the spicy margarita and dreamsicle were both very good. The cheesecake was a smaller piece but very good! Overall, I really enjoyed this place! The only negative was the music is slightly loud so the noise level in the restaurant did get elevated as the night progressed so it was harder to have conversations across the table, but the quality of the food and service would definitely bring me back. read more

Absolutely amazing dinner experience! I came in with a work party of 15 people and our server Jessica was on top of everything we threw her way. We had our share of all the appetizers and I loved every bit of food arriving at our table. Special shout out to the Crispy Zucchini/Santa Maria Tri-Tip and Atlantic Salmon. My and my friend made reservations on a Saturday, we were seated right away. The host was very kind. The seating arrangement was a bit odd, we assumed they would seat us at a table for 2 since there was plenty open, but instead we were seated at a long table that could fit maybe 20 people. If you're not really into wine but want to learn more about it, this may not be the right place. I was excited to learn more about their wines, but felt like I had to really pull info/recommendations from our waitress. The service for the food/cocktails was really slow. We did get a free pizza tho, since they had made the wrong one for another customer. I had French toast, and it was really good! But Sixty Vines showed up on OpenTable and we figured we'd give it a try. It was delightful! Service was tremendous, food was very tasty all around and the beautiful, open setting with a great playlist is perfect for groups! The only feedback we'd offer is to expand the bar offerings (get some Amaro Nonino in there!) and tell the hostess to ease up on requirements when the restaurant is half empty (you really needed 7 of the 10 of us standing in front of you to seat us, even though we were all walking through the door and we didn't even have time to grab a drink at the bar before you were ready? One of my favorite restaurants at domain. It is so big with many tables, and a large pretty outdoor patio. The restaurant is new and very beautiful. I have been there for both lunch on weekday and brunch on weekend. I really enjoyed my food, all tasty. I especially loved their pasta. They offer a very extensive drink menu as well. For brunch, I like their $6 per dish for their kids brunch menu. It is a good place to take family, even with small kids to eat. read more

We walked over to this wine bar on a nice fall evening, and it is an incredible new addition to the neighborhood. Sitting on the beautiful deck underneath a giant oak with charming lights throughout the branches, we had a perfect perch for people-watching in the bustle of the Domain. Jamison was our server, and he was knowledgeable and personable. The wines were excellent, the cocktail craft to the core, and the food totally artisan. We sat outside on a beautiful evening. The interior looked nice, but the deck under the trees was irresistible. We did not have a reservation , but the hostess accommodated us in about 10 minutes. The service was over the top, pleasant and cordial. Our waitress helped us select our wines and her suggestions were very good. She very politely steered me away from my first choice by offering a 3 wine taste selection, and her recommendation was clearly the better choice. We were particularly pleased that most of the wines were biodynamic (sustainably farmed grapes). We had the pork chop and a salmon dish, both of which were delicious. This was a great spot for brunch! We had a reservation for five people on Sunday at 1:30 PM. Although the restaurant was not busy, it did take a while to get us seated. Once seated, we purchased the mimosa bar and all had a meal. One of my friends and I shared the Top My Toast Board and Grilled Golden Beets, both were very good. I am a huge fan of a. Carajillo. I'd give this place 4.5 stars if I could, but there are still a few kinks I think they need to work through. Starting with the positives: we were greeted by very friendly staff and taken straight to our table for our lunch reservation, which was a great start. The space is absolutely stunning! They did a major overhaul renovation and expansion, and every detail is just beautiful. It feels upscale without the unattainable price tags. The food prices were very reasonable, and while some of the wines were a bit on the pricier side, I appreciated that they included more affordable options to choose from. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Most of the entrees we ordered were fantastic, and we absolutely loved the cheese and charcuterie board -- five options for only $30, which was a great deal. I also appreciated that they offered mocktails on the menu without needing to ask for them, which is something I often have to do at other restaurants. As for areas of improvement: the charcuterie and cheese boards should come with a couple of cheese knives. We had to use our forks, which was awkward in a group setting. They also offer a paper menu for the wines but require a QR code for the food menu, which felt unnecessary. If there's already a paper menu for wines, why not just flip it over and include the food options? One of our entrees, a pasta with chicken dish, had several pieces of chicken that were quite rubbery. Thankfully, the server and manager handled it well and took the dish off our bill, but some quality control would help avoid this in the future. Another suggestion would be to adjust the chicken sandwich -- the chicken breast was too thick and didn't fit the bun, making it hard to eat. Flattening it a bit would make it much easier to handle. Overall, though, we loved everything else we had, including the hummus plate, Campanelle Pasta with shrimp in a white wine sauce, and the Creste Di Gallo with roasted chicken, mushrooms, and pesto cream. We're excited to go back, as the menu offers plenty of variety depending on your mood! read more
