The kale & mushroom pizza was super flavorful... lots of yummy garlic. We also tried the burger and especially loved the crunchy sliced potatoes that came as a side. My sister and I stopped at the domain. We stopped into 60 vines, a new restaurant to us, for a glass of wine and an appetizer. They sat us at a bar directly in front of the kitchen.Their menu consists of a nice variety of charcuterie boards, and the option to build one yourself. They also had main dishes and beautiful desserts. The ambience was nice. The layout was very open . We tried a nice Cabernet called the notebook, very good but definitely a breather. The service was OK. If I had to pinpoint a place for improvement, it would be the service. We were left waiting for a little while however, I will say it was worth the wait. They sat as directly in front of the kitchen so we had first row seats to food prep. It's amazing the work that goes into preparing everything. I can't speak for the main entrées, but the visual says a lot, and it was beautiful. I'm giving this restaurant four stars but only because I feel like we really had to make an effort to check on our food and find out where it was a couple of times. Came on Valentine's Day, had great service and the vibe was so warm, cozy, and enjoyable despite it being very busy. Our food took a little longer than usual but our waitress was very sweet and they gave us a complimentary dessert to make up for it. This restaurant offers a great variety of wines on tap, so we got a flight and I enjoyed every single one. For starters, we had the brussels and the bacon-wrapped dates. Both were very flavorful and delicious, especially the dates. I had never tried bacon-wrapped dates and I was not disappointed! My main course was the pan roasted chicken, the chickpeas and whatever sauce/seasoning they used made the plate amazing. I think I may have enjoyed the chickpeas more than the chicken but regardless, I still loved it. My boyfriend had the wood grilled bavette steak, it had really rich flavors but was a bit chewy (which is expected, he enjoyed it but I preferred what I ordered). read more

I made my reservation for Valentines Day on Jan. 4 for two people, but was sat in the corner of the restaurant where it was brightly lit and next to where the servers input orders and receive the food. We were pushed out quickly - less than an hour in the restaurant despite ordering an appetizer. The food was cold. I visited this spot - which replaces the much-loved California Pizza Kitchen at this location - for a mid-size gathering that used a special side room facing the outside. Pizza was okay. But, Highlights of the fairly large array of samplings was the house-made ricotta spread and the Basque cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious and not often found in Austin-area restaurants. Great addition to N. Austin food scene. I booked a table for NYE where we live in Georgetown....but a few days ago Open Table emailed list of new restaurants. Most were not new, but 1st time I saw Sixty Vines so investigated. From pics on google/yelp it was clear this was a diverse menu with lots of small dishes which we prefer. So cancelled La Riv and booked Sixty Vines. It was mobbed when we arrived but only had 10-15 minute wait for our table. Our server Desiree was a delight. I am foody/chefie for 60 years so asked a number of questions about ingredients/recipes; she responded by going to the manager/kitchen to get answers. One she was not sure so asked Eric the manager to meet me and we had a detailed conversation about the dishes, preparations etc. Sixty Vines corp management should feel proud and fortunate to have such personable and communicative staff as Desiree and Eric. Desiree also asked the kitchen to customize several of our dishes.....she went above and beyond. The noise level was kind of high due to the large space, full of maybe 200 people all drinking, eating and having fun, no soft surfaces to absorb sound, and background music.....so in that sense not an intimate spot. But still fun to be there and lot's of activity. The interior design is contemporary, hip and interesting. We had 5 dishes each one perfect, difficult to pull off on any menu let alone in such a big venue. Ingredients were so fresh obviously well sourced. The eclectic menu with pasta/pizza touch is Austin but fits together perfectly so many options for mixing/matching dishes. Caesar salad - just romaine and dressing....but dressing is the key and if you love anchovies like we do get it! Burrata - every component was top notch with wood charcoal grilled world class bread made in house as the foundation Roasted Cauliflower - masterpiece with eggplant puree that is to die for Broccolini - the topping was killer, ask for extra you wont be sorry Smashed taters - As good as it gets!! One last point....value. For the quality, creativeness, serving size and service level the prices are VERY reasonable. Many similar restaurants (food genre) charge 25%-40% more for comparable dishes. read more

This is the perfect brunch place! The atmosphere is very "hip and happening". Perfect drinks, service was good and was able to make substitutions as asked. I came here mid day for a late lunch with co- workers as we were done for the day. We were warmly greeted by our server and he recommended a charcuterie board and drinks. We leisurely enjoyed everything and ordered some pasta. Fresh made, very delicious. The atmosphere was chill at this time of day, so am not sure what it is like on evenings weekends. The last time I tried to come it was on a Friday night and they had a line out the door. From my visit I can confirm there is a reason for that! This was not just a meal, it was a dining experience. Dessert was also delicious! The board included speck, prosciutto, sopressata, Cowgirl Creamery triple cream, house made ricotta, and Gouda. I had the braised pork papparadelle (enough for a good meal with leftovers) and my co-workers split the creste de gallo. We shared the sticky toffee cake which was divine. Drinks included Wheels Up (beautiful, delicious, very fruity and sweet), the Bee Keep (I tried a sip and it was delicious, lightly sweet and very refreshing), and the Centerpiece Old Fashion for two. Talk about presentation! I have never seen an old fashioned served that way - in an almost scientific looking bar... carafe? You have to see it to believe it. Almost like a flat fishbowl crossed with a canteen - you can see all of the fruit and the rosemary. Like a drink terrarium!
