My first time at Sizzler's is definitely a unique one. Went here with a couple of buddies. As they had been here several times before, they knew the ins and outs of the place. I decided to get the grilled salmon. Going against their suggestion, I did not tell the waitress to undercook the salmon. I thought to myself, "how can anyone screw up salmon?" Boy, was I wrong. The bottom was completely burnt and the meat was pretty dry. Don't get the sweet yams. It reminds me of baby food. The all-you-can-eat salad bar was a cool option to have. Just have one person get it and share your spoils with the whole group. Foodwise, it wasn't that great. However, we did get to practice eating chicken wings properly. I'm a Sizzler go-er, I admit that. We had to go by the cemetery on Sunday morning for an unveiling, and were hungry after that (go figure), and spotted this Sizzler in the shopping center. My friend's steak was served with a bunch of onions on top -- except that she ordered the garlic butter, not any onions. The server told her to scrape the onions off. We weren't pleased with that solution, but, hey. It' a chain. The steaks were great but the broccoli was overcooked. Service was slow and rather stupid. I have other Sizzlers I like. My son and I had a late lunch here today. Have to say, one cashier working & there was eight people deep in line. Cashier could have used some help, but his facial expressions could have said it all. Although you would have to drive to thee other side of the city, this steakhouse type of restaurant is affordable their food is quite well for their prices. Their menu offers steak options, burgers , sandwiches, but I prefer their "sizzler' platters" of garlic-herb chicken or grilled seafood. Their salad bar is quite big and offers many items, including desserts and hot appetizers. Their desserts taste plain, but their fruits are fresh; sometimes their salad bar is messy because of customers. I usually see people of my age dining here; I think because we like to eat at buffet type restaurants. Went here for the unlimited wings, well actually the salad bar. Took the kids and there were no complaints. Kids were able to get whatever they wanted and during this visit things seemed to be running smoothly in the kitchen. It was a Friday night so it was busy but food was constantly being put out back into the salad bar. Nothing was stale and the salad section looked and tasted fresh. Soups weren't burning and the area was kept clean. Only problem i had was there weren't enough servers or staff to bus tables and help everyone. They usually have some form of seafood or steak specials that are usually small in portions. However, they do have an all you can eat salad bar and their baked potatoes are pretty good. I usually go for the fried chicken wings, fresh fruit, and the clam chowder when I get the salad bar. Its usually not crowded since the food here is quite mediocre and bland, but it s a decent place to eat. They also have a frozen yogurt machine with vanilla and chocolate so that is always a plus. Yes I went to sizzler and it was good! haha. We were in the area and wanted something cheap and fast. m it was fast but not that cheap anymore. I remember the days when buffet was $8 and entrees were $8-9 for the value meals, not anymore! I came out spending $18 including tip and tax. I got the steak with grilled shrimp and it was good. I know they premade the food because it doesn't take 5 minutes to cook this dish. The steak also had a stick in it stating Medium cooked haha. I don't know how they did it but a steak sitting usually continues cooking, but it was perfectly cooked and still hot. My only complaint, the shrimp was a bit salty. As for the buffet, I took a peak at it and it looked horrible! I saw overcooked pasta, a fried chicken wing that fell into the spaghetti meatball sauce, it was just a mess! Also it's not pleasant to come to a table with a pile of eaten food on the floor in your sitting area, yuck, get a clean up staff. OHH and another new thing, you know their famous free cheese bread, they don't give it to you anymore unless you ask for it. This place holds nostalgic memories for us. I used to come here with my family of four and my dad could feed the family by ordering two meals- one all you can eat salad bar and one order of the steak and all you can eat shrimp. The steak is still sub par and tastes charred, dry and tough, but you can't really mess up fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. The salad bar is decent. It's no Fresh Choice, but you can find enough choices to make a satisfying meal. The cheese bread is still the best thing about Sizzler's! Back in the day they served one cheese bread per order, but now they serve the cheese bread in a basket and you can keep asking for more. Sizzler's is all about large quantities of food at a low price and from the size of the other patrons eating at Sizzler's most people seem to be taking full advantage of the all-you-can eat aspect of the restaurant. In fact, the waiters even encourage you to order more shrimp and cheese bread and don't mind when you eat none of it and pack the food to go. With prices around $10 for an all-you-can eat meal the quality of the food obviously suffers, but what do people expect? read more

Came here for dinner on friday after shopping at Target. It's actually in a convenient location..right across the parking lot! Parking here is easy, and its right off the freeway. Anyways, haven't had this place for a while...I actually saw a tv commercial on this place recently and thought it might be fun to try it. It was tender and juicy and full of flavor. The fried shrimp was a disappointment tho. The picture looked way better. The garlic butter toast that it comes with was good. The salad bar isn't too bad. They kept refreshing all the items that were missing...just your basic salad staples here. There was a few hot items that were pretty good. I made taco's here..and everyone loved them. I wish they had a better selection of fruit here tho..just pineapple and cantaloupe was all they had. Surprisingly the server we had here was great. He kept taking our old plates, giving us new ones. Ate on Feb 16, 2009. I have been here a few times and was expecting the same customer service but this time I was embarrased by the waitress for her poor customer service. I ordered a chicken alfredo and two kids meal. My wife wasn't hungry so she decided that she will just grab some bite from my plate. I also decided to get a salad bar because I was craving for some tacos. The cashier asked me if I was the only one eating the chicken alfredo and the salad bar. I said I was, but I also mentioned that my wife will just have a few bites of the chicken alfredo. The lady cashier then said that my wife cannot eat my alfredo and if she does then I will have to pay for the full price of the salad bar. WHAT??? She just want my wife to sit there and watch me and our kids eat. A restaurant police will stop me from giving a few bites to my wife?!?!? So what, I cannot eat my kids' orders if they decided they don't want to eat and just want to drink soda because it is a kid's meal and I am an adult!?!?! That was so ridiculous. read more

I know the drill at a Sizzler, but this is the most limited selection Sizzler I have been too. The salad bar is TINY for $12. The soups are good though, I love Sysco and processed/packaged food so I was happy with both the broccoli cheddar and the clam chowder. The dining area looked clean from outside, looking through the windows, but looking at the salad station and then the bathrooms when we walked in, oh god, the bathrooms. Unfortunately we didn't use them pre-meal, but after, and I'm not sure we would have stayed if we had. A lot of the tables had dishes on them, often the 'servers' would clear some plates and just take them somewhere else, another table or stand somewhere and leave them. I found that odd, why not just walk them back to the dishwasher? Because of that, and presumably the salad bar, there were some gigantic flies roaming about. Also the soups were not really kept up with often. I ordered the Dinner Trio that comes with a 6 oz sirloin, Malibu chicken and 5 deep fried shrimp with a baked potato for $15.99. It wasn't bad actually I would order it again, if I go to my hometown Sizzler. My mom didn't even finish her first and only plate of salad. We got these big dough balls of 'rolls', but they seemed undercooked. I didn't see the texas toast walking by until we were done eating or I would have requested it, we figured they just didn't have it at this location. Also no soda refills by our "server". It was just not good. You have a salad bar area to keep stocked and they sucked at it. The bathrooms were just terrible. Obviously they have no time for the salad bar so the bathrooms are definitely not getting taken care of. If the workers can't even take dirty dishes all the way to the back, no wonder. What can I even say about this place. Well to start we came here by accident. My boyfriend and I drive by this place all the time and decided what the heck why not? and went in. Big mistake. When you walk in you see a big menu on the wall and you choose what you want to eat and pay the lady at the cashier. When she hands you your receipt there is a tip line and after you decide to give a lousy tip since you assume it goes to the cashier, she then hands you the cash to tip your waiter. The endless appetizers and hot food looked like it was sitting there for hours. The clam chowder had no clams and the cheddar broccoli soup had a huge piece of broccoli in it that needed to be cut with a knife. Our entrees were mediocre at best. I had a shrimp plate with fried shrimp and shrimp scampi. The shrimp scampi was disgusting and sat on a bed of bland chewy rice. My boyfriend's steak was raw and had to be sent back. My one star is on account that it's hard to ruin steak and even harder to mess up fried food. To top everything off when I asked for a to go box, the waiter handed me FOIL AND A PAPER BAG. So disappointed that we decided to get a refund for all our meals 75.00 worth and we have never done that. The first sign should have been that the soda machine was broken and the only option for a drink was a can for 2.85 a can. Second sign the salad bar was empty. Final draw was the food. I had diner at Sizzlers last night for the first time in twenty year and now i remember why I stopped. I ordered a NY strip steak cooked medium with a baked potato (just butter), broccoli and a glass of wine. When my food arrived, I noticed that the potato has butter with chives (ordered without chives) and the broccoli was missing. I notified the server and he corrected the problem. all was well until i cut into my steak only to see that it had been cooked rare when i ordered it medium. I advised the server and told him i wanted a new steak, he agreed and returned a few minutes later with a freshly cooked steak. When i started eating my diner i noticed right away that it was still cooked rare which is not what i ordered and there seemed to be lots of fat. I was pretty hungry and didn't have time to order another steak so i ate it.As i did so, I noticed the steak was riddled with fat. When i complained to the manger as I was leaving, she said she would talk to the cook. solid place for lunch :D i got the weekend (or everyday after 4pm) value meal: 6oz sirloin steak with fries and it comes with the endless salad bar. obviously this isn't a place where you would go for something fancy but it gets the job done. when you walk in, the menu is on the wall and you make your decision in line and walk to the cash register to order. The soups of the day that i went was broccoli cheddar and clam chowder. The salad bar was stoked with goodies including: peas, mushrooms, carrots, corn etc. the normal and expected. On the other side, there was pudding and an assortment of pasta salads. my favorite is their tuna salad. and the hot appetizers were messy looking but still yummy. the service was good. there wasn't anything that stood out because it's self serve but i requested that toast and i was given them without a long wait. it also wasn't crowded. food is good and hits the spot. if i'm craving a salad, i'll definitely head back. read more

I've always came here as a kid and I still do as an adult! One thing that always brings me back is the price. I mean come on an unlimited salad bar and soup + more for $8-10 (depending on lunch or dinner), how can you beat that. Also, their salads I would say are pretty good in quality and the amounts of toppings and sides are great as well. Their clam chowder is by far a lot better than others I've tried. Their kitchen food is alright, wouldn't say the best, but that's why I order the salad bar. They also have this deal going on for dinner that EVERYONE should grab. So dinner is 9.99 for a salad bar, but they have these specials where you can get a dinner plate such as a cheeseburger, baked potato, and salad bar for 9.99, so why would you consider just buying a salad bar!? Just box the plate of food for another meal, that's what a college student does. I don't come here expecting the perfect dining experience, as long as I have my salad, clam chowder soup with cheesy bread, I'm a happy camper. However, I must say the majority of their servers are friendly and attentive. The private lot also adds as a plus for me. I typically only come during non-peak hours, because this place can get VERY crowded.
