    Garlic Beef Pepper Rice

A simple but comforting meal at sizzling lunch. There are plenty of options of proteins for sizzling plates, such as salmon, beef, chicken. You also have a choice or rice or udon. There is also a good selection of appetizers. We got the potstickers. Food was seasoned well. Protein on the plate was a good amount. This location you order on the scanned QR code on the table but can get extra assistance from the workers. There is plenty of tables inside and no outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. I would come back for lunch or dinner!

Receipt showing over charge in additional tip not agreed and not approved

Food was standard to other locations when we came in on Sunday 8/23/26 with reservations at noon for a large party. It was quiet and started to fill up. We were served quickly and service was good. For convenience we ordered by family per table. However the issue came when we walked up to pay at the counter. Although we ordered by scanning the QR code on the assigned table we were unable to make payment by app. Which seemed odd. We walked up to the counter to pay. The hostess asked if it was ok that she put in an 18% tip, service seemed acceptable, so I had no issue with that. However when it came time to review on the tablet at the counter, tip request showed up again, and there was no option to zero out with no additional tip. So I thought that was the previously discussed percentage amount. (A family in our party ahead of us noticed the same thing. So I was trying to be more careful and not let it be a user error issue.) Unfortunately I was also OVER charged erroneously for a SECONDARY TIP! I was able to catch this when the receipt printed out! This is unacceptable business practice! The hostess did due diligence and wrote down our invoices, phone numbers, and amount over charged and now it's Thursday 8/27/26 and still no call or correction from the manager Zi Zhao. Mistakes happen it's small value but based on principle and expectations, it would be for the management team to make this right. This happened to at least FOUR families in our party in one day. How many other families didn't notice before us, and walked away over charged? We gave the team time to respond before writing this review and filing a dispute with our credit card company. Next steps is reporting to the BBB and notifying Corporate. Word of advice check your receipts and don't get overcharged!

I've always enjoyed this place. I think the last time I dined here was about a year ago maybe? Food still consistent service about the same from what I remember. Ordering process has changed a few times through the years. They used to physically take your order at the table. Then they went to tablets where you place the order by punching in what you want, order goes to directly to the kitchen, and staff brings it out. Now they've moved to QR code at each table, direct to kitchen, staff brings it out along with your drinks. - Chicken Katsu Curry is always my go to here. Cutlet nicely breaded and fried. Curry comes on the side so fir a dipper line me its perfect. - Gyoza yes here if you like 100% fried potstickers. Great flavor and the kids love that they are deep fried. - Potato Croquette NEW item. Taste like a typical potato corn croquette. Comes with a side of katsu sauce. - Side of Udon the kid loves noodles so we always order a bowl of plain udon. No frills and plain just the way he likes it. So let me explain the three stars: Really Sizzling Lunch? "I humbly receive" is "Itadakimasu". I love the sentiment. However, I think what you have plastered on the bag holding utensils is spelled wrong! Its so big across the bag that I can't unsee it!!

We went to Sizzling Lunch at ~7p on a Monday and it was pretty empty. They had no trouble seating the six of us. The menu was the QR code on the table and we pretty much ordered almost instantly. The food came out within 15 minutes and it was SIZZLING (as advertised). The udon beef stir fry was pretty solid. You pretty much don't have to add any toppings because the base dish contains all that you need unless you want extras of something. After we had finished our food, they cleared our table and we were expecting that they would come by with the check,,, but they didn't and there wasn't a person at the register to ring us up, so we kind of just sat there for a little while until we could find someone to help us. It was close to closing time so I totally understand if they were busy cleaning up, but it was quite awkward. Considering that each sizzling plate is upwards of $16 for a stirfry that should really only cost close to $10 for a single serving, it is kind of pricey in my opinion. If it were crowded, I think it wouldn't be worth the wait.

I enjoyed the food, we got a beef pepper rice, curry beef udon, and cheese fries. I liked the beef pepper rice and thought the curry udon was ok. I would stick to their rice options next time. There were a lot of cheese fries which was nice but it's definitely a lot for 2 people. Everyone was really nice and I want to come back to try more of their rice options!

Great food, always love their sizzling plates! Food arrived quick, and hot and sizzling (of course!). Walked in for lunch on a weekday and there were only a few other customers. Lots of booths and seating, and service was good. You order on your phone, but the waiter was very friendly when bringing us our food! We also had some customizations when ordering our dishes and they came out perfect. Will definitely be back, one of my fav places!

I tried Sizzling Lunch during weekend lunch hour awhile back, and it was pretty packed with a wait. The ordering process was straightforward and done by yourself at the table, and food arrived quickly. They specialize in lunches served on a grill platter, with an assortment of meat, rice, and toppings. You have to let the meats grill for a bit before mixing and eating. They have various sauces at the table to add to the platter so you can personalize, which I liked. They also served sugarcane juice (from Sugar Mama when I visited, not sure if that's changed), which helps make the meal lighter and more refreshing.

Love this place. The booth tables are cute and the interior is already decorated with a Christmas theme. I was seated very quickly during a weekday lunch, hopped on the table and scanned the QR code to order. I got the spicy garlic beef. The food came in under five minutes. Simple and amazing, and it tastes great with the garlic shoyu and teriyaki sauce. The hot plate stays hot enough to give you crispy rice. When it was time to pay, I walked up to the register and waited.

Came in after a hike to nourish the body and soul, and found out this place really did the job to provide that along with a prompt service. Food was piping hot served on cast iron plate with fresh ingredients and tender meats. On point! Service was ok not excellent. They did the minimum. The server was weird. His communication skill was lacking. He also served me last. Confuciusnism ruined every Asian country. I had to deceive myself that was to "save the best for last." Haha. Place is clean and organized. It's a fast food Japanese concept in sizzling style. We enjoyed the meal.

My kind of a place and I walked in ready to fall in love but the food fell a tad bit short of my expectations. We got chicken katsu curry and chicken udon with garlic butter on the side. **chicken udon 3/5 I don't know if it's because I requested for the garlic butter on the side but the dish just fell flat and was super dry. Looks like garlic butter was not just the star ingredient but also the main source of flavor. **chicken katsu curry 3/5 The rice got extremely dry due to the hot plate, the chicken had a very thick and crisp coating. Even with the curry sauce the dish felt dry and difficult to eat. For close to $20 a plate, the quantities are definitely less.

Solid place for a late lunch. I liked the garlic butter and that you can add your own amount of garlic shoyu and teriyaki sauce as you mix it in. Rice gets crispy at the bottom which is great. Service was efficient and friendly

Came here for a date night with my partner, and it was sooo good! He had the chicken katsu with curry, while I had the beef udon. The curry that comes with the chicken katsu is pretty good, and the chicken is juicy. The beef udon (my all time favorite) is very flavorful. The tables also have a variety of condiments to enhance the flavor! The service is quite good. We were kindly greeted, and was seated quickly. The only downside was that you have to order on your phone by scanning a QR code, and my partner and I had to wait quite a bit due to the poor phone service in the area. Other than that, was a great time!

Probably a stupid question, but if the beef and chicken in the pepper rice dishes cooks partially through the stone bowls they are served in, how does this work for takeout?

Yes and yes, we do have separate fryers for the breaded tofu so there isn’t mixed contamination. And the using are vegan but not gluten free

They do! I have a friend who is vegetarian and I had called to ask if they vegetarian options. They only have tofu and yes unfortunately they don't have it on the menu options but they do serve it (best is to ask beforehand if they have it in stock…

Of course, every location has different chefs, so the flavor and preparation can vary slightly, but the quality of the beef has always been excellent. My favorite is the Wagyu ribeye. The meat is incredibly tender and juicy, especially when paired with Benihana's signature dipping sauces. Their chicken fried rice and grilled vegetables are also delicious, and the meal comes with a simple onion soup and salad that complement everything nicely. The price is definitely a little on the expensive side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. If you're a serious beef lover, instead of always going to those steakhouses everyone recommends online, give Benihana's Wagyu a try. You might be pleasantly surprised! One thing to keep in mind about this particular location: since the mall next door was demolished, finding the restaurant entrance can be a little tricky. For $18.99, you get your choice of two proteins, rice, salad, and miso soup, which is a pretty generous meal for the price. We all upgraded to the premium proteins for an extra $6 each. We tried both the short ribs and the ribeye. While the short ribs were good, I actually preferred the thinly sliced ribeye--it cooked quickly, stayed tender, and had great flavor. One pleasant surprise was the salad. It wasn't just an afterthought; it was fresh, well dressed, and honestly as good as the side salads served at many Japanese restaurants. The miso soup was also solid and rounded out the meal nicely. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the s'mores dessert. At $3, you get one small rectangle of Hershey's chocolate, one marshmallow, and two graham crackers. The portions are tiny, and if you have kids, they'll almost certainly want more than one. By the time you order enough to make everyone happy, it doesn't feel like much of a value. Overall, this isn't the best Japanese BBQ I've had, but that's not really the point. The rice was not hot enough, or I could say, room temperature. There were a bunch of raw white onions and pickles in it, I guess they were the culprit for the room temperature rice. The onion and pickle smell and taste were just too strong that we could barely had any taste of the rice and the steak themselves. Basically, we felt like we were biting a whole white onion fresh from the grocery bag. We also ordered gyoza and chicken karaage, which I think they were frozen and reheated in microwave. Anywho, we ordered a variety of items to try: new stamina don, clam chowder croquette, kani chirashi bento, and a salmon kama bento. Regarding the food: New stamina don came with slice beef, sliced beef tongue, braised pork, poached egg, and kimchi over rice. The sliced beef was cooked to rare, and the braised pork was very tender. The rice also came with the poached egg, kewpie mayo and a lemon, mixing it all together with the rice made it have a nice creamy flavor. Clam chowder croquette was something I have never heard of before, so I definitely wanted to try it. This was delicious, would definitely get it again. A fried crispy croquette with clam chowder in it but also some mashed potatoes and tonkotsu sauce on top. Kani chirashi bento had snow crab, fish roe over rice, rolled egg omelette, sashimi, fried boneless chicken, and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The sashimi came with 4 pieces, 2 tuna and 2 salmon. the tuna was a little fishy but the soy sauce helped. The salmon was actually pretty good - good fattiness. The fried chicken was fine, a few pieces were dry. Overall this bento was good. Salmon Kama bento is salmon collar over rice, fried boneless chicken, takoyaki and edamame, blistered tomatoes and shisito peppers with pickles. The salmon collar needed some salt in my opinion. For the food overall, it was a little bit under seasoned for me but for portion, price and quality are good.

It's on the smaller side for a restaurant (maybe seats 30?), making it a super cute spot for date night. We opted for the 17 course omakase and it did not disappoint. The timing of each course was perfect. Even though the chef was also making nigiri for a table of 4, my husband and I never had to wait very long between each piece. One of our most memorable bites was the A5 wagyu. It's grilled on a Japanese charcoal which added a nice smokey flavor to the juicy pieces of wagyu. The kisu tempura was also very delicious and as always, the nigiri's were *chefs kiss*. Each piece of nigiri was perfectly seasoned and incredibly well balanced. If you haven't tried Hiroshi yet, you're definitely missing out. Highly recommend trying Hiroshi at least once if you like omakase. My husband and I are already looking forward to our next visit.

Note that their menu changes based on availability, so it won't be the same each time you go. Service was welcoming and pleasant, and each items were fresh and well-prepared. Their sushi counter, made out of the keyaki wood, is gorgeous! A good spot for a date night. +17-course omakase +pleasant service

This restaurant produces complete Japanese meals with an entree, a soup, a salad and a bowl of rice…read morefor most of its menu items. They do include ramen and udon dishes too. We arrived around 7 pm and discovered the restaurant closed at 8 pm on weekdays. They stop accepting customers on the wait list by about 7 pm. The interior was not large for such a popular restaurant for families. I ordered a chicken namban which I enjoyed thoroughly. My friend ordered the salmon teriyaki which also got a thumbs up. Interestingly enough both dishes were delivered under 5 minutes of having our orders taken by the wait staff. The problem is it can get very noisy inside as there is little in the way of insulation. Parking is also readily available.

Let's start off with a positive. I love one dish in particular, it is the Miso Katsu! The katsu is…read morecrispy and the miso sauce is packed with flavor. The tenderness of the pork is really nice too, especially paired with the onsen egg and rice. My only gripe is the service and cleanliness is really lacking and disappointing. The staff are NOT attentive, no one asks how your meal is, and just asking for a refill of water takes what seems like forever. When they still had the tablets at the table, I remember ringing for a waiter/waitress to bring my mother a takeout container and I could hear the bell ringing in the kitchen. It was very quickly shut off, a sign that maybe someone would come shortly, but nope. I waited for 5-7 minutes and rang a second time and AGAIN they quickly turned it off with no one coming. I was tempted to grab the to-go box myself, but didn't want to risk being told not to do that and just wait for an employee... Finally, after what felt like at least 10-12 minutes, someone gave us a box! As for the cleanliness, when I was served my meal once, there was old food still stuck to my tray. While it was only the tray the dishes were served on, it made me question how clean the other dinnerware was. So, while I love the Miso Katsu, the past few experiences do not make this dish worth revisiting Yayoi. Honestly, the service has been so sub-par that I really don't know why I bothered coming back. Every time I go, I wonder how disappointing the service is going to be. So, try it if you must, but be proactive in making sure your server is attentive!
