I had a solid experience at Skillets Diner and would rate it 3.5 stars overall. The highlight of my visit was definitely the service. Our waiter was handling everything on her own and did an impressive job staying attentive, efficient, and friendly despite how busy it was--she deserves major recognition for her hard work. The food was good and satisfying, and the drinks were well-prepared .The atmosphere was decent, though fairly standard and not particularly memorable. Overall, a good spot with strong service and enjoyable menu options. With a bit more attention to ambiance, it could easily be an even better dining experience.

I had very high hopes for this place but honestly both the service and food fell short. The restaurant wasn't busy during our time there, but somehow the service was considerably slow. Our food took a long time to come out and we had pretty much finished all our drinks by the time it came out. Then our server was hardly checking on us. We had to flag down a different server to grab us our check, to go boxes, etc. In regard to the food, it was alright but everything was very basic. Nothing special or flavorful. The restaurant itself looked like a typical diner and seemed clean.

Rating this place a 3.5 unfortunately. Our food was a little plain, it was bland and had no flavor. Ordered a Santa Fe Skillet and Irish Skillet. The Irish Skillet had big chunks of the corned beef, I assumed it was more of a hash brown consistency blend. We had to ask for salsa and added more salt and pepper for our liking. Restaurant had dim lighting, and the food took a while to come to us even though they were only a few people of us there at the time!

Good breakfast place with lots of options to choose from. Service is always good every time I have come here. I have never had to wait for an open table. The only complaint I have here is their To-go orders are always smaller than when ordering to dine in.

I was visiting friends who live in Bakersfield and they suggested this place for breakfast. It's in a small plaza so there's plenty of parking. The interior is one huge room with a lack of decor. We came around 9am on a Sunday and only a handful of tables were taken but by 10 the crowds were coming through the doors, and soon there was a wait. Several of their breakfast dishes are served in a skillet so of course I had to order one of those. I chose the Chorizo Queso Skillet. Scrambled egg, chorizo, jack and cheddar cheese, diced tomato and onion were served over cubed potatoes. Sour cream and salsa were served on the side. It was a fantastic breakfast meal. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us after our dishes arrived. I got a cup of coffee with my breakfast - pretty good for a diner - and would have gotten a refill if offered, but that offer never came (not sure if refills are given at no charge or not).

The waffle was good but a bit too crunchy for my liking. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. Over all the food was good for breakfast. Service was great! Our sever was attentive and friendly.

New to the area & finally tried this spot today. I ordered the southern skillet & my boyfriend ordered chocolate chip pancakes, we both really enjoyed our meal, the gravy was so good, the chicken fried steak was crispy & everything was seasoned well, I appreciate it not being too salty with everything that was in it. Our waitress was great & bonus points for them playing good music. We'll definitely be back for breakfast again & to try their lunch! forgot to mention the prices were great

    Mimosa flight 2

I will be leaving pictures of the food and I do want to add I came on Father's Day. I ordered their mimosa flight which took 15mins to get. They were semi watered down (I want to add I do like stronger drinks so it could've just been my preference) and they did NOT look like the flights posted on their IG. The first flight I ordered didn't have the garnishes like the second round. The food was mid but the music they had on was a vibe. So overall for a first impression I'd rate this place 3/5.

As I was walking I saw the sign for this place and was happy I did because my other coffee options were a fast food restaurant or the famous coffee chain. It was a bit confusing to locate. It was tucked away in the back of a commercial office space type building. Once inside the place was very clean and organized. Very minimalist design. I was only one of 4 total people inside. My order was taken quickly. I ordered an iced americano with a ham and cheese turnover. Coffee was on point. No notes. No complaints. The pastry however was not good. They asked me if I wanted it heated up. I said I did. I saw her put it in the microwave, and I assumed they turned it on. When I bit into it (I had already left and walked across the street) it was cold. Like cold cold. On top of that it was flavorless which made it worse. Stick to the coffee or make sure you check the temp of the food prior to leaving.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk, and it was flavorful but not overly sweet. The food menu is small, with a few baked goods available. As a vegan, the only option I found was instant oatmeal with a selection of dried fruit and nuts to mix in. While I appreciated having a vegan option, I would love to see a few more plant-based choices added to the menu. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would definitely return for the coffee and the comfortable space to meet with friends.

THE GRUB: The Cuban coffee is outstanding, and the Vietnamese iced coffee is one of the best around, actually its the only one around. If im clueless let me in on the Vietnamese coffe you know of...anyhoo If you're looking for a caffeine kick, the cold canned Vietnamese coffee will give you a jolt you wouldn't believe. Food-wise, the Peruvian grilled cheese sandwich was flavorful and well made, but I'd recommend asking for the sauce on the side unless you enjoy a messy sandwich. The ham and cheese croffel had great flavor, but it was a little light on the ham and cheese. I think the cropples are better suited in the sweet variety as they seem small incompressants to a ham and cheese croissant someone would purchase for about half that price. In my opinion, it was more of a kid's snack than a meal and not quite worth the price, if you're actually hungry I would go with something else off the menu. Everything was made fresh , you must be patient here , perfection can be slower than your metabolism, so dont go there hangry. During my visit, Hector explained that he envisions Uncharted Adventures as a gathering place for the community. The business frequently hosts weekend vendor markets and local running clubs. Hector also shared he was creating a dedicated Memorial Day wall honoring local veterans, first responders, and teachers, while also working on an outdoor eating area. It's always great to see a Hector and Chris, and the new Adventures they take on. This is one of the few coffee shops in Bako worth checking out, whether you're stopping in for a coffee, a bite to eat, or a community events theyre hosting give em a visit an introduce yourself. You can thank me later. .Overall I would give everything a four and a half Stars but since Yelp doesn't do half Stars I'll give them a five out of five stars. As they deserve a free half star for all of the Uncharted Adventures that they are a part of...lol get it.. nevermind.. bye for now...

She did offer for me to purchase an iced Vietnamese coffee but that's not what I wanted. I wanted the convenience of purchasing the canned coffee so I could enjoy later in the week. I decided to try their Berry Matcha $8.66 for about 12oz. The price point is definitely higher than Starbucks for 20oz Triple Berry Matcha. The matcha was way too sweet and the strawberry foam was pretty watery. I would not order this again. And unfortunately I had to toss it after a couple of sips bc of the sweetness. If overly sweet matcha with watery cold foam is your thing, then you will love it. Would have been nice if I had been asked about my preferred level of sweetness. The gal who helped me was not friendly and conversation was forced when I asked menu questions. So disappointed bc I literally went out of my way just for this place. Sadly I won't be back anytime soon.

He had a tattoo near the corner of his eye and was wearing a jersey. It really disturbed me about how he seemed to be harassing the baristas. He told one of them "your tummy is sticking out again," when she said "it's because I just ate," he said "no it's always sticking out." He them proceeded to complain to them about another employee who "decided to get knocked up right when things were getting busy," and said some other things about maternity leave. The most apalling thing was he then asked the barista "if you're pregnant and found out your son was gonna be retarded, would you do the un-Catholic thing?" She tried to brush him off by saying "it would be too late," to which he made a joke about using a "coat hanger." Truly the most apalling thing I've ever witnessed at any establishment.
