I was scouting for a sandwich yesterday in downtown and I stumbled over this little sandwich shop on the corner of Fst. When I came in, I was greeted and helped with the menu by a lovely lady. The restaurant gave me vintage vibes and I loved it, it was calm and clean. The cashier helped me choose a sandwich and I picked out these cookies to try as well. I ended up going with the Dr. Laura Sandwich and the raspberry filled cookies, the sandwich was good only I wish there was more meat for the price honestly. It was a pastrami sandwich but I mostly tasted salami. On the other hand do your self a favor and get these cookies they're so soft and fresh, the filling is so good. I'm probably going to be stopping here for a sweet treat often because those cookies are spectacular. Overall I'll come back and try their soups and casserole, they sound appetizing. read more

Mini cafe on the corner of 21st & F streets. Came here on a Friday for a quick 30-min lunch break. Love the idea of naming sandwiches and combos after celebrities. Since it was Friday, I had the Richard Pryor which was a cup of tomato soup and a grilled cheese. I'm not really a grilled cheese kinda of person but man.. they got this combo down right over here. Perfectly crisp on the outside and with the creamy tomato soup for the dunks, it was bussin! Might try the Katie Holmes and Om Cruise next time. Service was quick and staff were friendly. When I worked downtown, this was the place for lunch. I am obsessed with their Brummer sandwich, which is their version of an Italian sub. They put this delicious olive tapenade on the sandwich and it really deserves the "chefs kiss". We have tried their other sandwiches but we keep coming back to the Brummer. We have also tried their take home meals and those are also delicious. I haven't had anything I didn't like here. The staff are so sweet and a joy to talk to. The inside is always so clean and cozy. I was a bit disappointed to see a lack of pastry or morning style food. They do have lots of lunch and sandwiches. Looks like homemade salads, potatoe, macaroni, casaroles. Smells good. If you're a sandwich love, this place is amazing! I got the Tanya Harding (mouth waters) and added yellow peppers. I don't know what kind of sorcery Bonnie has going on in the back, but every bit of the sandwich was amazing, the bacon was perfectly crisp, the peppers giving it an extra crunch. It's a nice little corner shop, that gives an old school feel, and the service... amazing! Everyone was friendly, and the classic rock playing in the background was lovely. While walking through Downtown Bakersfield I stopped at this little sandwich shop. It is quite quaint and the servers are extremely nice. The food, while decent, was not what I was hoping for. I had a Tim Allen sandwich, a bag of chips and a soda. The meat on the sandwich was good, however the bread was very dry and there was very little mayo and mustard. The price for what I received was a little higher than I expected, however not to bad. Overall I have mixed feelings about the shop. I gave four stars because the food was decent and the ladies who work there are great. The part I really liked was how they put olives on the sandwich and they look like eyes. read more

What surprised me was the kindness i found in my perfectly sealed bag they had told me they were out of most cookies so i didn't order any but really wanted to try them. Always fresh and plenty of variety. They even have daily special's making it a special treat to look forward to your weekly favorite. During the week I like the Katie Holmes and on Fridays the Richard Pryor, a special grilled cheese served with tomato soup. Oh my gosh, I'm in heaven. I couldn't even wait to finish my sandwich because it is THAT good. I ordered via door dash craving a turkey sandwich that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I wanted a classic tasting sandwich but with quality meats, cheese, toppings. Nothing too crazy, just basic but delicious. This place GETS IT!! I was nervous about eating any cold deli meat (preggo probs) so I called in to make sure the meat was warmed. Lupe answered the phone and kindly offered to go a step further and grill my Turkey meat. When it arrived, the sandwich was still warm. I can't thank kind customer service restaurants enough for taking special care and giving me everything I wanted and more. I've been there for a sandwich a few times and they are always good. However, I was diving by one late afternoon and saw they had shepherd's pie for the take home dinner. I've never eaten it before and always planned to make one, so I did a U turn and pulled up. I ran inside about 5 minutes before closing to get my pie. It was the most delicious, and for me down right decodent thing I've eaten in a long time! It was the perfect comfort food, perfectly seasoned, unkcious and delicious. I could taste the butter in it and it was amazing. I'm going to try more of their casseroles. They are home made and it would take a couple hours to make myself, and I don't know why I would ever make one again. read more

They offer a variety of sandwiches (even a special of the day) they also offer homemade dinner casserole's to take home for 2, 4, etc. people plus awesome cookies & cupcakes. My husband ordered the BLT and he enjoyed the fresh crispy bacon. The special was the "Pocohantos" lol. This was a delicious Turkey sandwich with cranberry on fresh dark brown bread. I think the prices we paid were very reasonable. My husband got a couple of sugar cookies filled with cranberry (we ate on the drive home) had I known we're so delicious I would have bought more The atmosphere was nicely decorated and very clean following Covid regulations, everyone wore masks. The chicken pot pie was $24, and full of flavor. Worth every penny! You do have to bake them for 60 minutes, but it was easy enough. I'm glad I decided to stop by Bonnie's! I love the home made bread loaf yum...Their baked goods are always fresh and seem a lot are home made. Only complain is the parking. Specially if you are disabled their is no designated area, you have to park on two very busy streets so it's too hard to try to take out your walker or needed items to help walking. So I suggest if you are disabled try to take someone along that can get down and pick up your order, not sure about if delivery is available. read more
