I have become obsessed with the Cajun pasta as of recently and with good reason. The sauce is the perfect texture and has great flavor. The Prego pizza is also something worth trying. Picked up dinner for the here last night and it was pretty. Here a breakdown of my experience. Food: here's what we ordered and our reaction. PIZZA= Pepperoni Pizza was good. Only complaint is there was a LOT of dough, meaning almost 1/2 of a few slices was just bread. tasty bread tho. MEATBALL SANDWICH= Meh. Kinda disappointed here. I love a good meatball sandwich, and this one was mediocre. Meatballs are too dry and had too much oregano or basil also. Flavor just wasn't there. I totally wish they'd talk to the chefs at Rubiano's in downtown Brentwood. Noe they have delicious moist meatballs! BBQ CHICKEN SALAD= Not bad. Not a lot of chicken or toppings, more like 60-70% lettuce. Chicken and sauce was good though. PAPPARDELLE BOLOGNESE= Just OK. Not enough sauce for the amount of noodles, so it was a bit dry. Flavor wasn't bad, but it needed something...salt, basil? something? Service: A bit slow..I waited almost 45 mins for my to go order. Most people I encountered were nice. One young man ( I just know he was 17, this was his first job, and he had dark hair) was EXTREMELY nice and even helped me carry my food to my car. Wish I would've gotten his name, but he was on shift around 6 pm on Sat 3/6, and he was very professional and helpful. Kudos to that guy! Atmosphere is really nice. I like the outdoor seating and can see this being a cool hangout spot when it warms up. Everything I could see was clean and the music was good too. Growing up in a Concord, Skips in Clayton was *always* our family spot to get my aunts, uncles, and cousins together. I have so many memories in that back patio area with the play structure and even remember way back when they used to give you dough you could play with (also they had sawdust all over the floor). I'm 24 now and living in Oakley, so incredibly happy a new location opened up right down the street! We ordered the pizza ahead of time and my partner picked it up on his way home. So easy! Pizza was perfect (Chicken Pepperado) and he even ordered two cocktails to-go. All food and drink was delish, so excited to have this staple right here in our backyard! read more

Skipolini's in Oakley is located in a little plaza on the corner of Main St. There is plenty of parking but it can fill up due to it being next to other restaurants and a Grocery outlet so I suggest coming on a weekday. I went on a nice Friday afternoon and they offer outside dining currently. They also have a sky deck that's also worth checking out! As for the food it was flavorful there was plenty of sauce for the pastas! The price range for pasta is the usual you'd expect around 16-18 dollars. They also serve Alcohol as it isn't on the menu so ask a server when you're there! I'd like to try other things on the menu so I'll definitely be swinging by again and get pick up instead. read more

Love this location. They have a play area for toddlers 3 and under which is so convenient for a mama wanting to get some good wings, pizza and a drink! I really wanted to love this place since it's so close to where I live but the food totally has gone downhill since it opened. Mediocre food, mediocre service (sometimes just awful)... even the gorgeous rooftop isn't enough to keep me from coming back here. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 bec drinks are good and again, the rooftop is cool. Mentioning the same thing that I did on my previous review, this doesn't seem to be a problem at the other Skip's. Made a reservation for 9 people and were told we would be seated outside with heaters. No problem. When we arrived they tried to seat us at a table that had been rained on. Chairs were wet. Asked for a different table and were told we could sit in the bar. Fine. Crammed into half of a long table. Service was terrible. We understood they were busy. We weren't in a hurry but we had to practically beg to order drinks and food. Our server/bartender was less than thrilled to serve us and was very rude when we tried to split the check but I guess she didn't care as she had already added on her 18% for being a large party. Which would have been fine if we had been seated in the dining room and actually been waited on. This is the 3rd time I've been here and had issues with rude servers. I live in Oakley so I've been to this Skip's many times. I've had various pizzas and non-pizza entries. Everything has always been top-notch delicious! Service is always friendly and efficient. I love the ambiance of this location. They have various indoor and outdoor settings, one even with a kid play place. If you get the chance, ask to sit in the upstairs patio area... We ordered two medium pizza's one Margherita and the other was half vegetarian and half cheese pizza. Both pizzas were pretty good with fresh ingredients. I must say that the pizza dough was pretty darn good. The inside of the restaurant is really nice, can't wait to dine in here. The customer service was pretty good too. I entered through the door that's on Main Street but apparently there is a door in the back through the parking lot that's easier for pick up orders? The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars is because of the price. The two medium pizzas cost almost $50. I think that's a little bit on the high side. Insultingly bad service here. The pizza is pretty good, but the service is terrible. We were told the wait was 20-25 minutes (not bad on a Friday night) but we waited almost 40 minutes and watched about 5-10 parties check in after us and be seated before us. We told the hostess this and that we were going to take our business elsewhere. We then got seated immediately. Once seated, our waitress was terminally absent. We were able to order in a reasonable timeframe, but after ordering she left us to ourselves. That wasn't bad until we got our pizza, but we did not receive plates, silverware, or napkins. It took another 5 minutes until we could flag down a bar back to let our waitress know. There were other tables that had similar issues, such as missed dishes. I would get the takeout but I imagine it has its own issues. Unfair treatment and poor service make this place not worth the time and money. read more

I called to make a to go order. When it a salad and was told they don't customize the salads anymore; they are all premade. We went to the Oakley location for the first time. The people were amazing! The staff was definitely not prepared for a busy Friday night however, they were very sweet, gracious and apologetic. The ambiance of this location is spacious and awesome for the Oakley area. You can bring family friends and business acquaintance. As for the food..... let's just say stick to pizza. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan with meatballs . I could barely get past my first bite into the eggplant with sauce. It tasted like a TV. Dinner gone bad. There is no Italian flavor whatsoever. I reserved this spot for my 25th birthday dinner! I called on a Monday and my birthday fell on a Thursday. They told they could take my party of 20 no problem! When we get there the host says "there was a mix up so we will have to seat you separately" I was pretty irritated but my whole party was there so we made it work. We then see a party get up and this made it accessible for us to all sit together so they agree and we moved. It was an east move we had no menus, no table set up nothing. Once we are seated we get ONE server for 20 people ONE. I understand that there are staff shortages but if you didn't have the staff why did you take on such a large party. We ended up having just ONE server the entire night for 20 of us you can imagine the chaos. Our services was okay it was minimal: the food was okay, drinks came out super late, some appetizers never made it out & to top it all of we were there for like 4 hours! Getting our check took about 1 hour. A JOKE. Everyone was ready to go but we had to wait extremely long to get our tab. I really like their drinks and it's a cute spot but this made me not want to go back. So beware of you are going with a large group it'll be a while for EVERYTHING they may even forget about your reservation. read more

Came here for the second time in the last week and it didn't disappoint. I went to the bar tonight and was served by Kris. Let me tell you, SHE. WAS.INCREDIBLE. I've been in the industry before so I know what it's like to be swamped by guests and tickets. She handled it like a champ. Not only was she attentive, but the drinks she was slinging were incredible. I was also lucky enough to meet the daytime bartender Sierra. Even off of her shift she was happy to give me food/drink recommendations and just offered some great conversation and laughs. My experience tonight was nothing but ideal. Every experience at this location has been negative. We have ordered to go and had soggy pizza. We have dined in twice and both experiences were horrible. The first time we were forgotten at a table in the corner, had to ask for everything (to take our order, forks, plates, drinks). The drinks took a very long time and the food arrived before the drinks. The waitress could tell we were unhappy and we told her why. She blamed the bar and she said to give them a second chance so we did. BUT, the second visit was even worse than the first. Once we sat down it took 10 minutes for someone to even notice us. The tables next to us had the same complaints. Once the food arrived we had to ask for forks and plates. We were ignored for about 90 minutes until finally someone asked us how we were. We ordered another round of drinks which turned out so disgusting we asked for a refund. We waited another hour for someone to noice us again. During all the wait time, we watched two waitresses walk back and forth giving the illusion that they were busy. The bar tender and waitresses hid by the soda machine with other male employees. At one point we watched them throw pens at each other from across the room. At a different time the bar tender threw ice at a patron sitting at the bar from across the bar multiple times getting ice all over the floor. The waitresses flirted with customers instead of walking around checking on customers. Once we finally got the bill we had to walk up to the bar to have our card scanned because no one came to the table. It was like they knew they were doing a bad job but at the same time did not care that they were doing a bad job. We spend 2.5 hours there, mostly being ignored, and watching employees do nothing. read more

This restaurant in the little town I live in was my favorite place since it opened. Matter of fact ate there their week week and dozens of times since. Recommended to scores of people. I am retired and have had even the nicest times there with family and friends Today December 23 around 12 noon had 2 of my grandkids 10 and 12 they wanted to have lunch there. We sat in the bar area and there was only one other customer in that area. Actual the restaurant was very empty. The server behind the bar greeted us and was super got our drinks and took our order. 20 minutes passed 30 minutes passed when it got to be 45 minutes I asked what was going on. Our order was simple lunch sandwiches. She said I know, and saw I was very disappointed she asked if I wish to talk to the mgr I said yes bring me my billed and cancel our order. The manager came out a few minutes later and begun to explain why, I stopped him, and told him it was inexcusable and if they were not open for business put a sign on the door. I also told him no one was aware of us waiting so long till I asked. There were many servers all about with very few customers. I told him I loved coming there but no more. I asked to pay for our drinks and the pre made salad I had been served nearly 40 minutes ago. He refused. He listened with respect. As I left I stop to thank the barkeeper , she literally in to me telling me I had no right to talk to her manager that way. Her tone was angry and vindictive. As we left my grandkids couldn't understand her attitude. I was firm and direct with the man that was manager but in the spirit of a disappointed loyal customer. Never raising my voice. Sadly they have lost this customer. Who was their guest and treated as if a senior citizen and his 2 young grandkids were invisible and very unimportant. read more

Very disappointed in this place. Second time I come and they still disappointed me. The first time they made us wait for a table. When they sat us down the server was taking long to take our orders. When the bartender noticed they let him know. After we got our appetizer they took long to get our pizza not joking (more than an hour). We ended up taking it to go. Today we got there at 7:15p they said 35 minute wait (sure) we are only two. I see that they were sitting down party of 4 and on just cause they only had those tables for them. They sat everybody after us and they said to wait 8 more minutes. We got tired of it and we walked away and went to eat somewhere else. Never again. read more

Very very disappointed in their service. We sat at the bar and the bar maids took care of the regulars but paid no attention to us. The only interaction was when we first sat down they took our drink and food order, but realized shortly after she didn't put our food order in. Order another drink and it wasn't as good as the first and was missing garnish. The whole time we were eating we were never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. We had to ask for plates, napkins, and silverware. The bar maids were playing dice with the regulars and didn't pay any attention to anyone else. When the bill came I was charged $51 for 2 old forester old fashions, $45 for the drinks and $6 for a supposed charge of an extra half ounce. When we've been there before sitting at a table that's never happened. Everytime I sit at the bar I get overcharged for drinks. read more
