Tonight I brought a large party (17) to this restaurant. I did make a reservation so they had time to prepare. The customer service was absolutely amateur. Seriously. And no sign of restaurant management in sight. It took hours to get drinks. Hours for them to serve food. No one ever checked to see if we had what we needed. We practically had to trip them to get water refills. That said, the food is amazing. Everyone loved what they ordered. So get it together. Sky, so I can give you a better review. read more

My husband and I had lunch here today. The General Tsao was excellent. The wonton soup was not very good. We were having a lovely time when my husband noticed lip stick stain on his glass. Have been here multiple times and everything was fine. They made a really big deal out of the fact that they do delivery each and every time, even going so far as to hand me menus as I walk out. So today I get up and make plans with my fiancée to have a bunch of sushi delivered before he has to go to work. I go on their website and their delivery app doesn't work. So I call them to order it over the phone and spend 10 mins on the phone with them just trying to give 2 different people my address and they want me to answer about how far away. Apparently I am less than 5.5 miles away and they only deliver 4 miles. Pizza Hut and Dominos deliver further than that. Why make such a big deal out of the fact that you deliver if you deliver in such a small area (an area that is densely populated around them by businesses and stores btw)?? I am beyond disappointed and will not be giving them another chance. We get sushi every week and alot of it when we do. They need to get their act together and have better communication. read more

Tried Sky Asian tonight and really enjoyed our dining experience. Great ambiance, our waiter, Bill, was attentive and friendly and service was excellent. I tried the cucumber cooler which was nice and light. We had the Magic appetizer which had a nice mix of flavors. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp and hubby had the Pad Tai Shrimp. The presentation of both dishes was lovely and tasted very good. I really appreciate the dishes being placed in front of us instead of it being handed to us (as some restaurants do). Also other waiters/waitresses assisted as they passed by filling water glasses. We will return! read more

If I could give 3-1/2 stars that would be more appropriate. Sky has a nice modern decor with electronic/dance music emphasizing the vibe. The 3 times we've been here the crowd is oddly enough an older set, and seems like they order mostly cooked food. We have only visited for Sushi. The quality of the fish is above average and the preparation is okay but can not match Ozu852 which is far superior in quality as far as I'm concerned. Sky's presentation is thoughtful, if even a little over the top. Some pairings don't really go together like yellowtail tartare served with guacamole and tortilla chips, strange and conflicting/confusing flavors. They have nice cocktails and a decent craft beer selection. Overall it's a good place to get together with a mixed group where you have folks that think raw fish is dangerous and gross. Our experience with service has been decent, no complaints. I don't know how they do when the place is jammed though. Sky is definitely worth a visit or two. The menu is certainly diverse enough for just about anyone. read more

Best restaurant in Dayton! Amazing sushi and service.

Went with a large group for a birthday party which allowed us to "pass plates" and sample a little of everything. Sushi/Sashimi was fresh and well presented. Bar drinks were refreshing. The entrees were all very good. The only thing I can't comment on is desert because we were all too full to try any. Two days later got carry-out which was as tasty as dining in. I took the whole family thus past weekend. We expected some issues as they were still very new. We got seated very quickly as there were only two other couples there. Very open floor plan. The sushi was very good, especially the Kettering Roll. The only thing that I didn't care for was the entrée I choose which was the Pad Thai which was very bland. I'm used to it being spicy and none of the food we ordered had any spice to it which was disappointing. Most of the family liked their food. All-in-all, not too bad. read more

We have been to Sky about 7 times since they opened, and have never been disappointed! The atmosphere is clean and inviting, the service is excellent, and the food...divine. We try at least one new menu item with each visit- the chicken teriyaki and American Dream sushi roll are still my favorites. Each time we visit, there are more customers, which is great to see, because I want them to stay. My teenagers are very picky eaters, and they love Sky- they ask to eat there constantly! I tried Sky on a Monday night, as I had heard good things about it, and was in the mood for sushi. Walking in, I was very impressed with the decor. Having been in that building many times over the past 20 years, first as Perkins, and several other places that never seemed to stick, I was surprised that they could make it look classy. But they did an excellent job! We had four Sushi rolls, all were very good, however the Kettering roll may be my favorite of all time, Sushi roll. You have to try it! The waiter did make recommendations, and I see why he said that the Kettering roll was the most popular. While there was no crowd on the Monday I was there, the waiter said reservations are a good idea on Friday night. The location is kind of odd for a nice restaurant, as I would expect it to do more business at the Greene or Austin Landing. But I think people will go out of the way for this place. We love this place. Our "Go To" sushi & Asian fusion eating place. Signature sushi rolls are great combination plus you can do regular sushi if you wish (boring!). Nice selection of entrees from different parts of Asia cuisine. Take out is easy using online ordering. Staff is attentive and very friendly. Cocktails are awesome. First time in was delicious. A few interesting different choices with the special rolls and appetizers. The Kung Pao was a clean and pretty dish. We tried a roll with red snapper and shrimp tempura that was tasty and good size. They do have 4 tvs on the wall. Not my thing but maybe helps with keeping other customers. Otherwise very clean and stylishly modern. Nice tall perimeter booths. They had local art on the walls and at least 6 local beers on tap. The location is strangely unsuccessful with many restaurants over the years. We will definitely go back. I hope their curry is yummy. read more

Absolutely loved the specialty rolls. I want to try every single one! I had the Paradise roll which contained cooked seafood with tempura crunch and, believe it or not, banana; all wrapped in a soy wrap with a perfectly spicy sweet sauce. The Kettering roll is not your typical roll either, but it is delicious. Over all the menu is heavy on the sushi and seafood but their other options include filet mignon, red curry, Kung pao, teriyaki, udon bowls, as well as desserts. read more

I was worried since the location doesn't seem to stick well with past restaurants, but this place has been sticking around. I was amazed by the amount of sushi you get in rolls. The lunch deal is fantastic and perfect size. Sweet potato roll is my favorite. I love the atmosphere and everything about this place. We went to this restaurant tonight not sure what we were going to experience since its new, but we were all 4 very pleasantly surprised. The drinks were very good. We watched as they really mixed them with care. The service was really good. They checked on us as needed, but not too often. Food was timed perfectly. The food was very good, not overly greasey like some Asian restaurants. 2 of us had the Kung Pao and 2 had the General Tsos. We had the appetizer of pork giozas were very good. In fact one in my party said they were better than she makes and hers are really good. It was about the same price that we spend every Saturday. So overall we would recommend and will go back to try more. Oh the tables around us had sushi that I would definitely get. read more

On the last leg of our way home from a long trip to the Carolinas we remembered that Sky Asian Cuisine was opening so we decide to stop for lunch; a good decision. Best sushi in Dayton!!! And Im pretty picky as far as my rolls go. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant- the decor was spot on, service was attentive and fast with good recommendations. They do not serve alcohol on Sunday's- one thing to know ahead of time. Everything we had here was absolutely amazing from the seaweed salad, chicken negimaki- to die for!, and the 3 rolls we ordered- the Kettering roll, American Dream roll, and the sky crab. I wish I had more room to try more! All were great, I think the Kettering roll was my favorite with the sirloin on top. Can't wait to come back and try more!! read more
