This place doesn't look like much from the outside. I now understand why it's so popular. This is a small cafe located at Sky Manor Airport in Pittstown. The cafe itself is directly next to the airport, and you can see the planes taking off and landing. They are open for breakfast and lunch. They do not take reservations. There's some seating inside and out. They only have 1 table to hold 6 people. What makes this place outstanding is their unique menu items like homemade Crepes topped with Fig Preserves and Whipped Cream, Bacon Stuffed French Toast,Coconut Brioche French Toast, Fried Mortadella Sandwich, and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Pistachios, Smoked Salmon Benedict, are just a few to mention. They also offer your standard breakfast like 2 eggs over easy with potatoes,or Jersey Pork Roll Caramelized Onions, Smoked Gruyère for a twist. A lot of their dishes are named after aviation like Maverick, Blackhawk, Aviator, Spitfire, Propeller. Children love to come here and watch the planes come and go. They get very busy on Sundays so be prepared to wait. They do have plenty of free parking. This place is a hidden gem. I assumed it was just going to be okay food with a nice view of the airport runway, boy was I wrong. The food was wonderful! The waffle was crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. The steak was cooked beautifully and the sunny side up eggs were beautifully runny. Second time back and just as tasty as the first time. The first time we ordered, they brought it to you packed to go, and we sat tarmac side at the outdoor tables. This time around, table service is back. My wife ordered the egg & cheese sandwich with pepper jack cheese and added avocado and salsa, it was indeed tasty. I again ordered the vegetable benefit [charcoaled portabella mushroom, spinach, fried tomato, and sundried tomato, hollandaise sauce over Penella bread] which was better this time around. Hot from the grill to the plate made the difference. With all the great ingredients it was a flavor tango on my taste buds. A must-have dish. I was treated to one of my colleagues favorite restaurants which also happened to be where he keeps his aircraft. His statement to me was "everything is excellent " and our party of 4 agreed. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict and was very impressed. The eggs were poached perfectly, the salmon was wonderful, the English muffins were crispy, and the dish deserved an A+ score! I did not know what to expect when arriving here. I was looking for a spot with Eggs Benedict and I found that here and so much more! I should have known by the name of the location - but being that I'm not from the area. It didn't click till I arrived. I loved the small cafe which was packed to my surprise! And I now know why. Food was amazing. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and it was so full of flavor. I recommend that one! I got the Salmon Benedict and it was perfect. The lemon hollandaise sauce has a nice light taste to it that the regular hollandaise that I normally get doesn't have. The views inside were amazing too. This place is awesome for kiddos! Brought my two year old and one year old here and they loved every bit of it! When you first get there, they have an iPad where you join their waitlist. You will get text updates on how long until your table is ready. you can also check how many people are ahead of you, doesn't just give you a time frame. Super accurate and convenient when you are walking around with your kiddos. Service was amazing. They were absolutely packed, but our waitress checked on us every single time she walked by to wait on other tables. We sat outside, so can't speak on the inside, but that was our choice. Planes are not loud that it will bother you and they are constantly taking off and landing. Food was delicious. We got the bacon stuffed French toast, banana and chocolate chips pancakes, and the avocado BLT. Portions are large and everything was ready fairly quickly. Sky Cafe is located within Sky Manor Airport, Pittstown, Hunterdon County, NJ. It sits just off the main runway, making for an attractive setting as the small light planes take off and land close enough to clearly see the people inside. The restaurant has significant outer dining, complete with large red umbrellas to keep the sun and birds away from your meal. When I arrived midmorning, the patio tables were all occupied, so I sat inside at the large window, comfortably air conditioned, with a lovely view. As you might expect, the menu had an aeronautic theme. I ordered their Propeller Omelet (sausage, onion, green pepper, cheese) inside a three egg case, with rye toast and coffee. Service was friendly, but slow, perhaps due to the number of families enjoying their morning meals in the August sunshine and heat. It looked like they needed another pair of hands to help out. The coffee was hot and brisk, and the omelet was pretty good, with a side of home fries on every plate. The crowd looked to be mostly locals who knew each other and who may have been semi-regulars the way they interacted. The reason Sky Cafe didn't reach five stars were things like failure to refill my coffee mug when it was empty, the non arrival of a glass of water when requested, the the long stretches of time between being checked on by the staff, including a long wait for the check, and almost as long to retrieve it to check me out; all little things that compound into annoyance. Otherwise, Sky Cafe is a nice destination after a beautiful county drive through the hills of Central Jersey. read more

This is our go to spot for breakfast near home (although they also serve lunch)! It's located just off the tarmac of a small local airport. Every table has a view of the planes taking off and landing through the large windows. Such a unique experience. During warmer weather they have a fantastic outside seating area. It can get quite busy on the weekends. Luckily, there are benches along the tarmac for you to relax on while you wait for a table. The menu has all of your traditional breakfast items but it's the specialty items that set this restaurant apart from the others. On this visit, my husband had the peach crepes with mascarpone cheese. The crepes themselves are very good and the combination of peaches and mascarpone are delicious. They understandably used some canned or jarred peaches as it's not currently peach season but they were good quality and not super sweet and not too soft. I hope they use fresh peaches in the summer though. I had the Chorizo & Potatoes Skillet. You won't find this dish anywhere else. It's layered with flavors and is totally unique and delicious. On a previous visit we tried the Coconut Brioche French Toast and it was spectacular as well! It's a must try. The portion sizes are just right. The wait staff is very efficient and attentive. I think the interior could use a little update/refresh just to make it perfect. Otherwise, it's clean and cozy. read more

We have had many wonderful meals here over the years, but this mornings was a disappointment. I think they've added too many tables to try and accommodate the crowds, and the food quality has suffered. No one in our party of 5 enjoyed their breakfast, and everyone commented it tasted weird. My husband and I had the avocado eggs Benedict, and the spinach on it smelled and tasted fishy. I hope they can to back to the way they were. read more

As a fan of the Frenchtown Cafe - currently being rehabbed after the fire next door - I wanted eat here to enjoy their creative, high quality offerings. So glad I did. The ambiance is inviting with a cool vista that features landing airplanes. I had the specialty burger and it was cooked to perfection with lots of flavor. My friends all had the Mediterranean salad - piled high and blessed with fresh, grilled shrimp. Service was spot on. Prices fair and in line with the quality and quantity. Ample parking too. We have been going to Sky for several years. We were there for breakfast today and I had skillet eggs on chorizo and potatos. My eggs were not cooked, (ordered over easy),egg white runny. We noticed that the food and service has changed. We never had waitress to check on us so I could ask for jelly on my toast. Only the other time we saw her was when she brought us the check. The wait staff did not seem attentive. We will not get there soon again. Their menu needs an update. read more

The food is wonderful BUT!!!! the wait time is horrendous!!!!!. Arrived with a party of 8- one of which my 83yo mom and 5yo daughter, 930am and had a 30minute wait. Multiple groups were seated and served before us both inside and out. Finally called in to be seated on a table for 5! and if we didn't take the table, we would have to wait longer!!!
