Two of us ordered the fish of the day @$39...small piece of cod, and just four pieces of potato ...meaning two small potatoes cut in half...and mine was actually missing the sauce. I'm not sure how that dish leaves the kitchen in a restaurant that is supposed to be of high caliber. They need to do better.

We went with a 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Cellier des Princes Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Chasse des Princes) - while a bit young, it was kept well, and went swimmingly with our lunch, nor was it overpriced. The food. Moules Marinières. C'est magnifique! Tender. Flavourful. Fresh (as best as one can be 90 minutes from the sea). The broth was exquisite- not overly salted, and very respectful of the Mussels- very traditional and well executed. I will certainly be back here. In fact, speaking with another well travelled Wine Enthusiast/Foodie semi-local at a wine bar about Golden Pheasant, he shared much the same sentiment. Truly, this encompasses a roadside hidden gem.
