There was a water leak in the apartment above mine and it was causing water build up in my wall in my master bathroom. The Sky Properties staff was onsite swiftly. Roshelle from the office was in constant contact with me throughout the entire process. She reassured me that everything would be cared for and she made arrangements to work around my schedule. I can't say enough how professional and Empathetic Roshelle was to my situation and helping to get it fixed. Mike and Luis were the gentlemen that came and fixed the issue. This was a large job and they worked diligently over a few days to get the job complete and make me feel safe in my apartment. They did not hesitate to come early and on a weekend day to complete the work. They left the area clean with no sight of the tremendous amount of work they had to do to pull the wall apart, fix the pipes, and replaster it. My Bathroom looks like it was never touched. I want to start by saying that the leasing agent I worked with was pleasant, but unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ends. Sky Properties Management as a company and their property manager, Yesenia, seem completely disorganized and unreliable. There were multiple errors on my lease. For example: * My contract stated I would be charged using RUBS for water, but later I was told that this only applies to most of their buildings--not mine. Why include it in the contract then? * My lease said I wouldn't have a parking space, but I was told one would be sent later. When I followed up, they claimed it was already in the lease, even though it clearly says zero spaces. * On move-in day, I received a parking lease after 3 PM stating I would be charged $25, despite repeated written confirmation that parking was included in rent. The most frustrating issue is that a vehicle has been consistently parked in front of the gate, blocking the main entrance. I reported this weeks ago and was assured it would be handled. When I received my keys the day before move-in, cars were still blocking the gate. When I asked what would happen if the cars were still there during my move, I was told "we all just have to deal with it." This is unacceptable--my movers charge by the minute, and this obstruction makes moving my belongings extremely difficult. When I spoke with the property manager, Yesenia, I was told there's nothing she can do because they're never present during walkthroughs. Because I cannot get any assurance that the gate will be accessible, I haven't moved any of my belongings in--even though my lease has started. I do not trust this management company at all. If you're considering renting from Sky Properties Management, particularly their listing at 6501 Fulton Avenue, I would strongly advise against it. Update: They pushed my move in day after access issues, which I'm grateful for, however the day of my scheduled move in day, as I'm moving in, I'm told my parking spot is a different spot, which goes against the parking agreement I signed. I made it clear the spot I was showed, confirmed through text, and signed for was a determining factor in my decision as parking in LA can be stressful. I was told over the phone if I don't like the new spot, I can park on the street. After bringing up the fact that I intend to take legal action, the tune changed and I was told they would get back to me on 3/30 (today) and it is the end of the business day and I haven't heard back. Additionally, it appears my Google review was flagged (I presume by Sky) and shadowbanned which explains why the reviews on Yelp are much worse than Google reviews. The family of racoons that has moved in between floors are destroying the walls, the wiring and pipes. You would think that they would at least be concerned for the building. Requests to have them extracted have been dismissed. I guess when they eat through some electrical wiring and the place burns down they will acknowledge these critters. read more

The initial meeting to view the unit with the property manager Shayla went really well. I immediately applied and that was it. I never heard from them again. I have called every number that is listed. I guess they are just judgmental to the person, for whatever reason they want to judge, and from there the value and respect for people are severely lacking. On one end it is a blessing, because who in the right mind would want to live somewhere that lacks basic human decency, on the other end, even though I don't want the apartment any longer, I want my money. I am homeless and if I decide I want to throw money down the toilet, I can think of better people to give my money to and that will put a smile on my face. SKY properties is the worst management not to mention the cheap owner with a horribly building "new" building. We moved into a brand new apartment building and the floors are glued laminate and they are splitting. Building management decided to add silicone to cover the finger wide gap's LOL Our second bathroom did not even have a molding for the door you can see through the bathroom gap. The building fire alarm has been set off twice by imbeciles Lighting up firework candles inside of community room. Where every single unit is ringing the fire alarm. New Building has no water flow sometimes. Property management has changed 3 times already. Management lied about the trash and utility bill, we have a Facebook group and tons of people say the same thing. read more

1. 10% increase in rent (state maximum) after initial lease. 2. 5-star reviews are solicited after initial lease signing, before you are ignored. 2. Parking gate has been broken in the open position for over a year, and video has been taken of people coming in and taking items from open cars and going through storage units. Sky has not fixed it, even though we pay for gated parking in rent. 3. Maintenance requests are frequently ignored, or they will say they will come by on a certain date to fix it, and then they will not show up. This has happened to us multiple times. 4. Upstairs is hardwood with no rugs, so it is very loud and you may hear upstairs neighbors walking around. 5. Washers work very poorly, frequently have to rewash, costing money since it is coin operated. read more

If you believe ignorance is bliss, then you're not going to want to read this post... At the 3400 Cahuenga Blvd. West building, Sky Properties has to shut off the water for a business day, several times a month, in attempt to repair the ancient plumbing system. They peddle this building as being where The Flintstones was made for a reason: IT'S THAT OLD. It's so bad, the office and lobby recently flooded and two fellow tenants actually had to move out because of it! See photos from their apartment, and the water shut-off notices for the entire building below. And after living at this location for two years with zero issues on my end, I attempted to add a second tenant to the lease of my two-bedroom apartment. "Attempted." After Sky Properties approved the new tenant and took my additional $500 security deposit, they sent us a lease that would have stripped us of our promised and advertised parking spaces. We never agreed to this! And things only got worse... Sky Properties then refused to correct the lease FOR MONTHS, even after the latest in a revolving door of office managers instructed us to just sign the incorrect lease that would be altered later, once "all signatures are in." This wasn't going to be an amendment, she just hoped we'd be dumb enough to sign it first. I'M NOT KIDDING. See the last photo below--and notice how once I call her on it, she ignores it... and me altogether. I found this behavior so unethical--and potentially ILLEGAL--I got my ATTORNEY involved. Only after they knew they could be facing litigation, did Sky Properties finally send the new tenant and me a lease that contained our parking spaces. THREE MONTHS LATER. They forced the poor new tenant live in limbo all that time! And maybe the worst part? There were no apologies whatsoever. I might not be writing this if even one person at Sky Properties could have humbled him or herself enough to just say "I'm sorry" on behalf of the company. But that's not all... Sky Properties kept hundreds of dollars in "additional charges" from my security deposit after I moved out. I left voicemails with the main office and the building manager in attempt to find out why--NO RESPONSE. But I can't honestly say I'm surprised: an actual human being never answered the phone once in the four years I lived in a Sky Properties building. BOTTOM LINE: Sky Properties--who works for NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of mega corporation, Comcast--just considers you a line on a spreadsheet once they're already getting your money. read more

PLEASE BEWARE! Ive been living in a property managed by SKY Properties for about 5 years now. It started off ok and has completely spiraled down hill. The property I live in has not had a manager for the past 5 months, requested repairs take weeks to get attention/repaired. I email and call, yet they never have the courtesy of giving me a call back even after countless request for them to do so. They simply default to email communication, which is just frustrating. They simply do not care for their tenants and honestly their properties. The building I live in was very well taken care of when I moved in and has again since been neglected especially now without a property manager. We just moved into a Sky property and love how well maintained and beautiful the building is. Friendly management and the neighbors are very quiet. Quite happy so far! UPDATE: We are currently under "stay at home" orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time the management at Cahuenga Place has done an exceptional job keeping us all safe including sanitizing the common areas every few hours, adding hand sanitizer in the elevators and installing a StockWell "store" so that we can purchase paper towels, medication, snacks and other essentials without leaving the building. Sky properties is your typical friendly and nice staff before you sign then ignores you once you're locked into your lease. Our building has issue after issue after issue that they band aid approach fix and then ignore calls from you. Our only washing machine was broken for close to 2 months before they actually fixed it, our plumbing is constantly leaking and spewing sewage in the parking area, our trash pick up has been missed 6 times this year leaving overflowing trash in our building and thats just to list a couple issues. I would avoid and Sky Property buildings like the plague they are not working in good faith. Also Yasenya is super rude and passive aggressive. She never takes a professional stance on issues with the building, just says things are out of her control. Not to mention they consistently have raised rent the maximum allowable amount which makes this place way over priced and not even close to a good value for the neighborhood. read more

Update: Since my writing of my review, I received a phone call asking what could be done to get me to take my negative review down. They offered to let me out of my lease. However, my stuff has already been moved in by movers, and we all know finding a new place takes time. Not to mention, that option would leave my roommate paying all of the rent. I couldn't do that to them, even given my ongoing disappointment and frustration. The only bright spot in this whole thing has been their head of maintenance. He came by at 7:00 on Friday evening (drove all the way from Reseda in traffic) to look at the air vents and the water damage. He changed all of the air vents, cleaned them off, and he will be back on Monday/Tuesday to paint the water leak spot, which he looked into and said needed no repairs. As a property, I get there are things you don't "have" to do. However, when your old tenant leaves a place in a filthy mess, in good faith, I would hope other property managers would try to meet in the middle. The lease out may have been the middle for them, but that would have left me without a place to live and having to spend more time and money to move out when a paint job and a little maintenance would have done the trick. I have spent all week trying to clean my "new" place that I was SO excited about, which just keeps making me so sad. I have never had a move in experience as challenging and frankly, disgusting as this one, even as a subletter. The rooms I moved into were always in good condition--no footprints on the walls, no filth anywhere. And the landlords always made sure space was in its best condition instead of waiting until they have to fix a problem. I'm grateful for their head of maintenance. He truly made my day yesterday, and you can tell he cares about his work and tenants. read more

Have to give this property management 5 stars. We use to live at Cahuenga Place near Universal Studios and the manager, Adrienne, and all the maintenance staff, Alex, John, and Alex all were so very nice while we lived there. What was great about living there was convenience and that they always kept the outside of the apts very clean, well maintained, and secured & safe. Another great thing that Sky Properties has is paying and doing maintenance requests online, which makes it super easy if your always on the go. For the most part, it was very easy to rent there. They're also next door to LA fitness, where you get free membership. While you rent there u also get cable and internet free. Can't beat that. We found they also value safety and make sure the annual required fire inspections were done on time. That was very important to me, especially when it comes to fire safety for the building. Most buildings neglect that at times. Bravo to them for doing right in regards to safety. They also were very flexible on our move out dates, as long as we kept them informed, which we did. Overall, we enjoyed living at Cahuenga Place and are sad we had to move. We lived there for over 2 yrs. It will be missed for sure. Thank you Sky Properties for a great apt complex. I was hesitant to work with them after seeing the word SCAM in a lot of peoples reviews...but alas here we are. They will help you until you fill out an application and pay a $45 application fee. THEN they will not respond or let you know the status of that application (despite numerous attempts, begging for clarity!). Then you will see the listing re-uploaded to Zillow. I'm very upset and would urge others not to trust and or bother with them. I feel very disrespected, ignored, and honestly concerned with who I sent my info to. I really adored this unit but it might as well be a computer on the other end trying to get updates on my application. Do I move on? Literally no idea. No communication at all. Nice people to start, but internal turn-over or something is leaving loose end and no follow ups when managing properties and issues. Issue 1 A year later after "repiping" repair, every month I have been reporting the same issue with water pressure and temperature not consistent to the point I almost burn myself every shower. They have yet to fix the "repiping" issue. They constantly say they do something, but just close the ticket and do not follow up on the job to prove work was done or to see if the issue was fixed. 6 visits have all been like what's described above. they did try replacing the water heater on 1st report as a solution that didn't work. I have contractor friends that report that it is probably the main feed. No manager has reached out to me to give me any view of what the repair person says or their contractor as advised. Smoke and mirror Maintenance and leaves you in the dark with no customer service. Issue 2 In the middle of asking me to fix the pressure and temperature, they install an old, loud hot, coin operated laundry service and exhaust the dryer right under my air conditioner and next to my door. I now have to fan the dryer exhaust away from my air conditioner and heat away from my door. Reported for 3 months. Still have not fixed it or follow up *I never requested a laundry service, they added it in to bump up rent for new tenants as well as try to bump my rent up COLA al while doing this. Issue 3 Called the new manager to see the process for the security door after my car got broken into, had the manager tell me " I don't know how your car getting broken have to do with the property" They say this person is no longer with them but the turn over at this place seems so high i dont know who my landlord or manager are to get anything done They have a web portal for maintenance, they ignore it for long periods of time. the managers give conflicting procedures to submit tickets. Sky Properties is this black hole of email, web portal, filter calls at the office to try and get you off the phone. But super nice people. read more

This is a horrible company. Landlords, you should avoid them at all cost because their tenant relations are pathetic. Our landlord of 8 years switched to this property mgmt company and after that there were nothing but problems and mistakes with our account. Finally we gave notice to vacate, set up an appointment for a walk through and no one ever showed. Then they held back a big chunk of our deposit for non-existent things. When you try to reach them, they never call you back. Same with emailing. They just ghost you until you give up. Yesenia was the person we tried to deal with, with no luck. read more

I was a resident at 1441 North Vista street for almost 2 years and if it wasnt for the Pandemic causing an issue with my income, I would have stayed here for soo much longer. When I was first shown the property, the Manager on site Bri was very helpful, informative and answered my various questions about parking, the pool, noise levels, privacy concerns and everything. I moved in without a hitch, and moved out the same. Bri was my main contact throughout my stay and a main contributing factor to my satisfaction there. Along with my rent for July I provided a list of issues that need repair. Sky has a history of dragging their feet. Are they inept or deliberate? I suggest the latter and can support my opinion. Yesterday July 12 "maintenance" arrived (late) to inform me two of the issues on my list they can't do. They require a specialist. Have those trades been called to make the repair. "Oh I don't know," said Angel head of maintenance. Let me show you the screen door - a long-standing problem as is the sliding glass door. This morning Angel fixed the lock on the screen door and placed it on its track - it came off the track by evening. While working on the screen door I demonstrated difficulty sliding the glass door. As I tried to lock the glass door it no longer closed properly and could not be locked. Angel fiddled with it for several minutes and said he'll fix it after lunch. He didn't. He was working on another unit on the same patio 10 feet away. At approx 3:27 I called the manager to ask why my lock is not repaired. No reply. At 3: 37 I called Sky Properties. "Let me see if I can reach Angel" was the reply. I called 3 more times up to 5 PM All I heard were platitudes and no results. The manager texted me at 6:20. "The office is aware of the issue and is working on getting someone out although it may be in the morning. It is now 1:30 PM I haven't heard from anyone. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Their lack of proper management fills many pages. Is this the company you would trust to meet your needs? Unless you thrive on frustration, incompetence, dirty little tricks and lies I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

One of our biggest fears when moving from Maryland to Los Angeles, was whether or not we would find an apartment that was close to everything, within our price range, and with a landlord/property management company that actually took care of the building maintenance. We found all three with Sky Properties. We moved here in 2014 and could not have been more satisfied. The apartments are spacious, the bathrooms have stand up showers that are huge. (I thought they were handicapped at first but they're that big. Anyone in a wheelchair or has trouble getting in and out of traditional showers needs to check this place out ASAP). The apartments feel safe too. Since the gym and the office complex is on property, it never has that desolate, empty feel. Nor is it a super busy, downtown hotel vibe either. With sidewalks up to Citywalk, it's like having an amusement park in your backyard. The maintenance folks stay on top of repairs both inside the apartments and on the grounds. Leaky faucets and lock repairs are fixed immediately. The manager, Diego is constantly on top of any issues we have an can be reached 24/7. This is an A+ property. read more

Our landlord Dror has been extremely helpful and accommodating. He is always available for questions and concerns and is a fast problem solver. We never have to wait too long for repairs and all of our needs are met quickly and professionally. The building is very well-maintained and is very pleasurable to live in. He is respectful of our space and needs. Angel is also a very hard worker and is always able to make quality repairs efficiently. We never have to wait. He is usually here the following day.
