We've lived in the Martel building for over 3 years and we've had a pretty good experience so far. Our current property manager Lynn is amazing (10 out of 10) and is always friendly with tenants, responsive, and keeps things in good working order. She is constantly ensuring we build a safe and clean community for tenants which I so appreciate. Out of all the places we've lived she has been the best and it makes such a difference. Along with my rent for July I provided a list of issues that need repair. Sky has a history of dragging their feet. Are they inept or deliberate? I suggest the latter and can support my opinion. Yesterday July 12 "maintenance" arrived (late) to inform me two of the issues on my list they can't do. They require a specialist. Have those trades been called to make the repair. "Oh I don't know," said Angel head of maintenance. Let me show you the screen door - a long-standing problem as is the sliding glass door. This morning Angel fixed the lock on the screen door and placed it on its track - it came off the track by evening. While working on the screen door I demonstrated difficulty sliding the glass door. As I tried to lock the glass door it no longer closed properly and could not be locked. Angel fiddled with it for several minutes and said he'll fix it after lunch. He didn't. He was working on another unit on the same patio 10 feet away. At approx 3:27 I called the manager to ask why my lock is not repaired. No reply. At 3: 37 I called Sky Properties. "Let me see if I can reach Angel" was the reply. I called 3 more times up to 5 PM All I heard were platitudes and no results. The manager texted me at 6:20. "The office is aware of the issue and is working on getting someone out although it may be in the morning. It is now 1:30 PM I haven't heard from anyone. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Their lack of proper management fills many pages. Is this the company you would trust to meet your needs? Unless you thrive on frustration, incompetence, dirty little tricks and lies I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

My husband is a veteran of the United States!! Zero respect for our country and vets! Extremely poor customer service, disgusting apartment, over priced billing. Never going to work with Sky Properties again. Sta Sky Properties are crooks. Living in Burbank for the past 2 years was a mistake. My old apartment there had so many problems, and Sky Properties would take weeks to months to reply. I would leave online messages, emails, and call their offices and they wouldn't respond. Many times our dish washer and sinks would break and when I call Sky Properties they would say someone is coming to fix it and nobody comes till a month after. Also our window outside screens were damaged and flies kept entering our apartment. It was disgusting. We complained many times to Sky Properties, but they didn't do anything about it. My old roommate and I had a situation when our kitchen appliances were broken which forced us to buy fast food for a month because we had no way of cleaning our dishes and cooking because our sink and dish washer was broken. We spent over $2000 of food because Sky Properties wouldn't fix our appliances. They kept lying to our faces that someone will come and fix it and nobody came. In the end sky Properties gave us $200 credit only which was very underwhelming. Also working with Carmen was a disappointment. She is very rude over the phone and she spreads so much lies. If I were her manager I would fire her because it's bad for your business to have someone like that in your team. She is very unprofessional. There are way better places to live in and way better companies to work with. I would never work with Sky Properties ever again. They lost my business and lost my respect. People moving to LA beware of Sky Properties. They're crooks and will take your money. Interesting that they say the comfort of their valued residents is the utmost importance to them. Well all I can say is that evidence speaks louder than their empty statement that they didn't fulfill for 2 years now. I have evidence of photos and emails of their lack of attention to care for their residents like myself for 2 whole years. It's ironic that they now finally respond after their bad reviews on yelp. Where were you when my sink and dishwasher was broken for 2 months and I emailed and called many times? I'm not sorry for speaking my truth. I'm doing you a favor by leaving this review so you can do a better job to attending to your current and future residents and you can renovate the dirty apartments you guys are trying to sell. We're having our semi-annual unit inspections, and I was completely stressed out about an issue concerning my pet. I requested accommodations that would tailor my cat's needs and ease my anxiety level. I made a couple of calls to Sky Properties management on different days leading to the scheduled inspection. I originally chose a different property but changed my mind last minute, she was so supportive and helpful with the situation and really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my home. She immediately sent over some other options and already the next day I was able to go see it. I'm so happy with the apartment I chose. Hmmmmmmm were do I start!!!! I lived there for only 4 months in the 4 months I had roaches in my house the entire time even in my bedroom!!!!! The roaches were so bad that they were outside on the building outside my door The manager Carmen is a joke!!!!!! She is the worst human I think I have ever dealt with!!! I had to call the police 3 times while living there on my neighbors for harassment at which one point her husband threatned to hurt me , this all came because I shut my door to hard on accident and the wife lost her mind I have them and video threatnjng me I can't put the tape on here because it's so bad, Contacted Carmen never responded to me I sent the tape and police report, and a threstning letter she put on my door and Carmen did NOTHING!!!!!! Tom is a really great manager at this building. He really cares about the community. He's the kind of person you can ask to help you out with something if you're in a bind pretty much day or night. I have lost my keys too many times and he always helps let me back in. It's a really great place to meet neighbors and have fun especially during the summer when the pool is heated. He's also just a kind person who will give you a hug if he sees you and you're having a bad day. My only complaint would be that the pool is only heated by the sun so most of the year it's cold. A few of the tenants and I agree that it's kind of a waste of the facility. And for people who are looking for a year-round pool, as I was, note that It is not heated. read more

SKY Properties Inc. is a horrible management company with extremely poor customer service. I was scheduled to move in to my new apartment at the first of the month. It was not until the day before my move-in date that I was informed of a list of 9 remodeling items that still needed to be completed. This was very frustrating to hear as there had been no mention of these delays previously. I had been texting with the on-site manager since mid-January up until my move-in date and he never once informed me of any delays. He also had not been responsive to many of my messages. Due to the lack of honest communication, I was backed into a difficult situation. The apartment was not complete, I had already packed all my items, had my movers scheduled for the next day and could not stay in my current residency. The list of pending items was extensive (see below), yet the on-site manager claimed that it was still habitable without consulting with me to see if it was up to my standard of living. He also continually said he didn't appreciate being called a liar, when all evidence of our conversations clearly showed that he was not transparent regarding the apartment renovation status. 1. Cabinets and drawers did not have hinges or pulls 2. Pending delivery and installation of new dishwasher 3. Pending delivery and installation of new AC unit 4. Pending delivery and installation of medicine cabinet 5. Pending delivery and installation of mirror in bathroom 6. Shower tiles still had to be re-grouted 7. Kitchen counter still had to be re-grouted 8, Pending delivery and installation of new shower door 9. Resurfaced balcony deck still needed to be re-painted Despite being understandably upset regarding the lack of transparency about the status of the apartment, we reached an agreement with the on-site manager and I planned to move my furniture in for storage purposes until the apartment was done being renovated. The company agreed to discount my March rent for the inconvenience/delay. Following this agreement, I went to pick up the keys and hand over a cashier's check for my 1st month's rent the night before the move-in. When I was shown the apartment by the on-site manager, there were even more items pending than what he had mentioned in his text and the apartment was very dirty. The new stove and fridge had also not been installed and there was sawdust all over the floors. When I left that night, I had texted the manager to ensure the floors were clean by the morning so I could move my furniture in without them getting dirty, yet I received no response. In the morning, as I was in the midst of moving, I then followed up again to ensure the floors were clean for the arrival of my furniture and boxes. He then informed me that the workers did not have access to a mop, he would not be available all day, and that I should bring a broom and a mop to clean the floors myself. He acted as if I was inconveniencing him by asking for these standard protocols to be completed before I move in. This was extremely frustrating and disheartening to deal with. Not only had I already encountered several delays because the manager was not upfront, but I, as the tenant, was then being asked to clean the apartment myself as my movers are getting ready to transfer over all of my belongings. On top of that, the manager did not make himself available to help, despite the fact that he was aware of my move in date well in advance. Given the horrible customer service and poor communication I encountered with the manager, I cancelled my lease. I am now staying with my family with all my belongings stored in their garage until I find a new apartment. I am lucky that I even had this option as not everyone has family or friends that they would be able to stay with. My security deposit and first month's rent was not returned to me on the date that the management company had projected and it took me following up several times to receive the money back. Additionally, the company then asked me to return the key to them a day before they needed it. I was unable to deliver the key with such short notice, given that I work full-time and couldn't make a trip to their offices in Toluca lake. I offered to send it in the mail and they were adamant about receiving it the next day but did not offer to pay for the overnight fee (which came out to $27), which should have been a given considering all the hardships that we encountered with their management/company. No one at the company ever once apologized for the poor service, for the behavior of their on-site manager or for the many inconveniences we encountered. Overall the service is extremely poor and the company clearly has little regard for the well-being of their tenants. read more

I am extremely please with the management we have here at our building. Things get addressed right away and everything is kept up, even to the doggie bags at the dog run area. We just moved into a Sky property, and we have nothing but a good experience with them so far. The building is beautiful and peaceful. Aside from that, Lynn Perdroza, the building manager has been so responsive. When we first moved in, there were a couple of issues with the fans and storage areas. However, we put in the maintenance request, and she was so quick to follow up. I was surprised how quickly they were able to fix everything given we are in the middle of covid-19. 10/10 recommend. We got off to a bit of a rough start when we moved into our apartment with Sky Properties. For the first 6 months we had water leaking through the ceilings of our bathroom and kitchen. After the last time, it seems they implemented a more permanent solution because it's been over a year since we've had an issue. We were also told when moving in that we were in line to receive a parking space in the gated parking lot when one becomes available. However, we still have to receive one. While not a major issue, it can often be a pain in the butt to lug all our stuff and a toddler from a street spot that can often be quite far away. Things have gotten much better with our third and most recent manager, Wendy. She's really doing a lot to make the building a safer and cleaner space for residents. Before Wendy, we had considered looking for a new home, but as every new improvement comes, we like our home more and more where it is. read more

I lived at 1647 W. Temple for two years. I loved it! You can't beat the pool and large patio, or the view of the downtown skyline. Tom, the building manager, is great! If there was ever a maintenence issue he always resolved it quickly and efficiently. It was always easy to get in touch with him. He also hosts movie nights by the pool over the summer, which I and other residents loved! It was a bummer to have to move, but that's what happens during break-ups. I highly recommend this property, or its sister property across the street, to anyone! read more

I love how dog friendly the Cahuenga Place Apartments are! The two dog runs make my life so much easier and there is an awesome park that's a 5 min walk away! The complex is kept up very well and I really like their recycling program. My new apartment building I've lived at for about a month and half is run by SKY properties. I moved right during the height of pandemic, and Carmen helped make the process smooth and flexible for me despite everything going on. My on-site manager , Diego, is extremely helpful and on top of everything that is going on in the building, as well as individual maintenance in my apartment. There's a website for every single bill that is run through the apartment, not to mention a main portal where you can pay right via your checking/banking. You can even submit your maint. requests here, and suggest times that work for you. This apartment complex/ mgmt company is world of difference from my last apartment unit. Thieves and SCAM company . They find an excuse to not to give your deposit back . Carmen (accountant) thinks that she is the owner of the company and cuts off the money that you supposed to receive without any logical grounds . Just to trash out one carpet, they charged $276 from us . There was only one carpet to be trashed out on the back of the building , and we forgot to take that after working hours and hours to move out . If someone could warn me i would hire someone from home depot and get rid of that carpet for $30 not $276!! We have stayed at that location for 6 years and believe me they never help or cover if there is an issue with the building . We payed to fix the ac from our pocket , we payed the vandalized window glass repairs at least 4 times, i have left them an online message through rent payment portal also an e mail regarding the leak that is coming from the walls , no response for months . I don't even want to talk about roaches and bugs . Urine odor, electrical issues that no one would help when we needed . They basically ignore you when you need them and without doing anything they cut off your money ! After this long review i have received a very aggressive and very not professional answer from Carmen. She did not even bother talk to business owner face to face and was yelling from other room when we wanted to get our deposit . And finally after she sees a negative review she speaks out how ironic is that ! I will try to post her message from Yelp app if it lets me , we will see! read more

Well we are moving because we bought a house. We would have stayed otherwise. Things have improved greatly since SKY took over the management.
