The food is always hot and delicious. I love the view of downtown San Antonio from this location.

First, it says Kin's on the outside. Maybe it's changed recently? Let's get straight to it. Let's…read moreget the negatives out of the way. The price. It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.

Came in on a glorious Sunday with one clear objective…read more Get my money's worth. Now one thing I will always respect about America is the all you can eat model. No messing about. Just you, the menu, and a quiet understanding that nobody is leaving early. Brought Jimmy "The Hammer" along for this one. A dangerous man in this setting. His only complaint before we even sat down was that it wasn't all you can drink. Fair concern. Thirty dollars for the dinner menu. Fair play. That is about standard across the city. The real question is whether you can actually make it worth it. I started strong. Ten salmon nigiri. Ten tuna. Four shrimp. A couple white tuna. A couple yellowtail. Across the table, Jimmy didn't say much. Just kept eating. That's usually how you know things are going well. At some point it stops feeling like dinner and starts feeling like a bit of a challenge. You settle into it. Find your rhythm. No wasted movement. Then came the rainbow rolls. Two of them. Always my test. You can tell everything you need to know about a sushi spot from that one roll. Balance, freshness, attention to detail. This one delivered. Clean, refreshing, exactly what you want. Added some chicken skewers for good measure. Bit of char, bit of heat, keeps things grounded. Place was packed. Not chaotic, just busy in the right way. Staff stayed on top of it. Plates moving, orders landing, no one left waiting. By the end of it, I leaned back and took stock. Full. Satisfied. No regrets. Five stars.

Almost halfway into my meal, I go to grab another piece of sushi when I see a small ROACH on the plate. Now to be fair I didn't see the roach crawl out of a sushi roll, so not sure how he ended up on the plate. Regardless, if he crawled up from the floor or fell from the ceiling or was actually in the sushi, IT WAS DISGUSTING. There was a bug on my plate of food. I killed it with my napkin and showed one of the waiters. He took the plate of food and offered to remake it. I appreciate the thought, but I was feeling sick to my stomach thinking that roach was crawling around food I ate. My husband and I let him know we didn't actually want to stay. We barely got to eat half of the food we ordered. I started inspecting the other dishes and noticed a hair on the seaweed salad. Overall just questioning the cleanliness here. The waitress finally comes by with the check -- for the full amount-- and a $20 gift card for next time. I let her know I have no plans to return and to please apply that credit to the purchase. I think it's absurd they thought it was right to charge us the full amount when we clearly didn't get to finish our food. A roach ended up on my plate of food at your establishment. It's disgusting and I don't know who in their right mind would think someone plans on returning to a place they had such a bad experience at. I know things happen, but I'm truly more disappointed with their response than the roach itself. At no point did a manager/ owner come by to apologize. And charging someone full price for food they couldn't even eat seems like bad form. I wasn't going to sit there and argue or make a scene, so we paid the bill and left. I can safely say I have no plans to ever return to Izumi.

Despite the crowd, they kept the rounds coming without breaking a sweat. The standout feature for parents is undoubtedly the children's play area. It transforms the outing from a "quick drink" into a genuine family get-together where the adults can actually relax and converse while the kids stay entertained. The food is served via on-site truck options, and the quality is impressive. Even with a large order, everything was served quickly and arrived hot. Here's the breakdown of what we tried: Brisket Nachos: Heavy on the brisket and perfectly layered. Chicken Tenders: Crispy, juicy, and a hit with both the kids and the adults. Tacos: Fresh flavors and great portions. Fried Okra: The perfect salty snack to pair with a cold beer.

The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect for a kind of seedy but welcoming bar (if that makes sense). The food was good. Asian chicken slider was the best. Had a great flavor and was a big tender. The brisket quesadilla was okay - the brisket wasn't as flavorful as I would like and the cheese wasn't fully melted. The wings were good, but I still can't rationalize $12 for 6 tiny wings... but again good flavor and well cooked. And the fries were solid - crispy and hot and well seasoned. Would go back again and get the slider and fries and try more stuff.
