This place is located inside Walmart, I ran into it one day when I was shopping. I just wanted to try it and I was not disappointed at all. I got the 4 piece wing plate with yams and collards. Everything was amazing so good that I actually went back like two days later to get the same exact meal. I wanna try other stuff on their menu, but the wings were so good. I'll just have to try something new next time. everything was cooked to order so very fresh and the staff are very southern and friendly. I treated my dad to dinner during my first visit here. My dad had the bbq pulled pork dinner with mac & cheese, potato salad, and another side. I had the veggie plate with cabbage, mac & cheese, and yams. Everything was good, and I had leftovers. There was minimal wait after placing our orders. Loved the atmosphere as there was good gospel music playing while we ate. The manager greeted us & made sure we enjoyed our meal. Would definitely return when on that side of town. read more

If you haven't been to the Walmart on Callabridge Ct in awhile, then you may not know about the new soul food restaurant inside. Yes I said inside. Check out SkyView 22. BBQ Pulled Pork I had been craving barbecue for a couple of weeks now. So when I saw BBQ pulled pork on the menu, I had to order it. Great choice. I liked the way the barbecue sauce was drizzled and not soaked in the meat. The pork was what I like to call.....fall apart tender. Dirty Rice I was trying to put guess the seasoning used for this dish. It had a little spiciness to it and what I kept saying was Italian seasoning. Little amounts of sausage. I don't know if it was Italian seasoning or not but I do know it was good. Collard Greens I'm always hesitant to try collard greens at restaurants.... Mainly because people seem to put sugar in the collards. STOP DOING THAT! Their collards were made with smoked turkey. They were tender and not greasy. Flavorful. Cornbread It didn't like the cornbread. It was dry to me. That is all. Overall, I really enjoyed my soul food and I think they have slid into my #2 spot for soul food joints in Charlotte. 1 meat, 2 sides = $12. Part 2 review on SkyView 22. The wing and fry lunch special. The fries Were they hot? Yes Crispy? Very Tasty? Eh......and I say eh because there was not any seasoning on the fries whatsoever. Just make sure you grab some salt, pepper and/or whatever else you put on your fries. The wings 2 chicken wings split to make 4, tossed around in some great seasoning and then fried. I loved that The skin was crispy and that the wing wasn't dripping in grease. I was shopping in Walmart and found this gem. It's a seated restaurant with a real food menu and also they have a food truck. Run by a husband and wife team who were delightful. Lovely wall mural and seating spaced out. Large menu board near the entrance. Wanted turkey wings, but they would take another 40 minutes. Instead, I got the fried wings, collards, potato salad, and mac n cheese. Ordered a veggie plate to go of fried okra, dirty rice, and lime beans. Everything was well seasoned and hot. Prices are those of the market. It is good to support local businesses. They also use DoorDash and UberEats. Try them out if in the area! read more

This was my first time visiting Skyview 22 after hearing so much about it. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. The woman at the front counter was very helpful with assisting me with their menu. I chose the fried chicken wings, collards, macaroni, and yams. Let me tell you, everything was delicious. The chicken was fresh out the fryer, the collards were tender and flavorful, the macaroni was seasoned perfectly, and the yams tasted like a dessert. This meal also came with a piece of cornbread that tasted phenomenal when mixed with my collards and yams. I was very impressed with my service today. They definitely lived up to their reputation. I shop at this Walmart alot recently since I just moved to the area. I've seen this restaurant inside, but never stopped in. Today, I had some time and I'm glad I did. The Special today was the Seafood Pasta Salad. I was greeted with a sample the second I walked in. It was sooo good. So I decided to get that along with the fish, which was Swai. I'm big on customer service, so being greeted with a smile and a run down of the menu had me sold. The wait wasn't long, I had my food and was on my way. I love coming here for some good ole home cooking. Everything is delicious but my go to is their fried fish (swai) and seafood pasta salad. They have dine in option if you'd like but I usually pop in for to go. The owners are friendly and wholesome people. If you can't make it this way, they offer catering or you can catch them on their food truck at events. Last Thanksgiving, I ordered pan sizes of their sweet potato, green beans, and mac n cheese. Wow! Went to SkyView 22 for the first time today. We'll definitely be back. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and it was packed with pork and very tasty sauce was just the right amount. I had three sides; Mac and cheese, green beans and the cabbage with pieces of turkey. Loved everything, but especially liked the Mac and cheese because it had crispy edges. Our daughter had the crispy chicken plate with dirty rice and the cabbage. Daughter said the dirty rice had a little kick to it and she liked everything as well. The cornbread that came with the two plates was flavorful and moist. We got a piece of the strawberry crunch cake which we shared when we got home. Everything was delicious. Prices were reasonable and the people were friendly. The restaurant is inside the Walmart at Callabridge on the far right of the store just past the entrance. What a hidden gem.
