Actual spoons. A relic from a frozen yogurt past that refuses to die. Inside, the decor felt like a dream someone had after eating too much tiramisu. Dresses on walls. The nose of a Vespa. A cheerful sign that said Ciao as if it were purchased from a Bed, Bath & Beyond in some Venetian suburb. Teacups and playing cards dangled from plastic greenery that had never known sunlight. I accepted all of this. A young man took my order. Efficient. Unmoved by the universe. He said fifteen minutes. It was ten. A small victory for truth. Under promise, over deliver. At home, I opened the box and found abundance. Meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms. No restraint, and all high quality. A quiet miracle of sharp provolone had appeared without being summoned. It was fresh and it was right, and it provided an Instagram worthy cheese pull if only I were into such things. The bread held its dignity. Toasted properly. No collapse, no tragedy. Was it the best cheesesteak in the area. No. There are specialists for that sort of thing. But it was better than it had any right to be. Better than many places that try harder and achieve less. Four stars. Not because it changed my life. Because it did not disappoint it.

The staff member was observed scratching his scalp and ears before handling the dough without washing his hands. When I requested that he wash his hands, he responded abruptly, claiming they (hands) had already been washed despite having recently used the restroom. This raises significant concerns about the hygiene practices in place. I would advise customers to consider alternative dining options where staff prioritize proper hand hygiene. Due to this experience, I chose not to make a purchase and will not be returning to Dominic Pizza. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I asked for separate vinegar and oil so I could dress the salad myself, and the server was gracious and brought it to me. After dressing the salad, I couldn't even eat it. What is it with pizzerias that use their greenest, heaviest, most strong tasting and bitter olive oil in a fresh salad? It overpowers the salad, and tastes awful. We don't do that in Italy. Salads need a light tasting, light golden olive oil so you can taste the components of the fresh salad and not be massacred by the heavy bitter taste of oil. I am astounded when Italian pizzerias and restaurants do this. The good news? The sauce on the pizza was fabulous. The bad news? $16.00 for this mess. And no refill offered on the soda.

The garlic knots (3.25/5) were a bit on the smaller side, but served in a nice portion size with a decent garlic kick to them. The large cheese pizza (3.5/5) was a small notch above the central New Jersey average, with the dough, sauce, & cheese coming together for a nice pizza experience, although I did have to sprinkle on some spices to add to the flavor profile a bit. Service (4/5) while picking up was friendly, although slightly slow at first since the guy at the counter was initially fixated on his phone for a bit. Overall, I'd rate Massimo's a 3.5/5 pizza experience, and don't mind rounding up since Yelp doesn't allow half stars and menu prices were fairly reasonable. While I'm not sure I'd choose Massimo's over other pizza competitors in the Robbinsville/Hamilton area, it's still a decent option should you find yourself looking for a more traditional round pizza experience.

There are several other places in the Robbinsville area that offer much better food, service, and value for your money.
