Slice of Italy - The underside of my burnt, inedible pizza. Employee knew it was burnt too & didn't care. I want my $4.99 plus tax back!

I was going to try some nachos at the Mexican place but I stood at the register to order and a woman in the back smiled at me, said nothing, and never came over, so I walked away. So much for trying that place. I was pleasantly surprised to see a new pizza place, Slice of Italy. After checking out the slices I decided to try one since they looked decent. It was expensive, $4.99 for a one topping slice, but at least it was large. It was not the cleanest looking place. There were crumbs and dust everywhere. The young guy who worked there didn't speak to me before or after I ordered or after I paid. All he said was, "Credit." when I pulled out my debit card to pay. When he went to get my pizza out of the oven, he wiped his hand on a rag used to clean the counters, then swiped the counter with it. He picked up the pizza server and retrieved my pizza from the oven with that so that was ok because he didn't touch my slice. He gave it to me and said nothing. He left the slice in too long and burned it. At first I though it would be all right since I like my pizza crispy. I was really hungry too so that was a factor as well. After eating several bites I decide it was burnt and not very good. He shouldn't have served it like that. See attached picture. If you want to eat burnt pizza, from a dirty place, with unfriendly service, then definitely try A Slice of Italy. You shouldn't be disappointed!

Delicious pizza! It's a new location with years of experience behind it. A must try for anyone.read more

It has an outdoor patio, which on Friday afternoon when I arrived was quite crowded. It has a very large bar area and since I was by myself, I just sat at the bar, even though I wasn't having an alcoholic beverage. I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon, which they kindly refilled as soon as it was empty. I've been trying to eat healthy so I ended up getting the blackened grouper sandwich, but without the bun, and instead of the french fries I got a side of steamed broccoli with garlic. The fish was actually quite good and the broccoli was very freshly made in crisp with garlic. They have a pretty big menu with all kinds of food foods and the one interesting thing that they have here that you wouldn't expect is sushi and sashimi! Is located in a mall next to the Barnes & Noble. And it's my go to restaurant in that plaza whenever I stay at the Hyatt Place hotel next-door.

If these system issues are persistent, there should be a temporary process in place to ensure orders are communicated to the kitchen. The staff were already aware of the problem, which suggests this isn't a one-time occurrence. Management needs to address this so employees aren't left dealing with frustrated customers because of a known system failure. The staff apologized and offered to rush our order by moving it ahead of the others already being prepared, but by that point we had already been waiting 40 minutes, had children waiting in the car, and it was getting late. We ultimately canceled the order and requested a refund. This experience wasn't about the employees, they were courteous and tried to make it right. The issue was the lack of a reliable backup process for a known system problem, which created an avoidable inconvenience for both customers and staff.

Review for Meatheadz - Lawrence Township, NJ…read more After hearing a NJ Transit conductor rave about Meatheadz, I finally decided to check it out--and I'm glad I did. This place absolutely lives up to the hype. I went with the Plain cheesesteak with fried onions and pepper jack cheese on a seeded bun, along with an order of Meatheadz loaded fries. Let me just say, that cheesesteak was a monster. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and swimming in melty cheese--it's easily the best cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, and for anyone arriving hungry, you definitely won't leave that way. The loaded fries looked fantastic too, but I had to box them up for later (that's how filling the sandwich was). The prices were moderate and fair for what you get, and while the place was busy, the energy felt lively rather than chaotic. All in all, Meatheadz is absolutely worth the trip if you're craving an authentic cheesesteak experience. Rating: 4.25 out of 5

Service is quick and efficient. Staff are helpful. Vibes were my favorite part of the experience--musical throw backs to songs from 2015 were the jam. Light rock, pop songs, all the good high school jams that took me back. We got Double BBQ Bacon Char, double cheeseburger, Sweet Potato Fries, fries, onion rings and fried string beans. Food was decidedly mediocre and nothing to ever return for. Burgers are low quality--super dry and tasteless meat. Zero flavor. You need a ton of trimmings to make it palatable. Regular double cheeseburger was a miss. Double bbq char burger was a tiny bit better thanks to the bacon and fried onions that gave the sad burger some texture and flavor. The bun added nothing, so I'd skip it and get the lettuce wrap instead. Regular Fries were soggy and bland. Skip. Sweet potato fries were the highlight of the meal in terms of quality--super light and not at all greasy. Pleasant surprise. I'd order them again. Fried string beans were meh. Too much batter.

The burgers were fully cooked as we liked and was juicy and yummy. The French fries were also crispy. Ordering thru the kiosk was easy and picked up the food when the texture came. The seating area was clean and nicely decorated with California landscape pictures. The cashier was friendly when asked for cups for soda and a free sundae when email didn't come once Charburger reward program was joined. A nice place to have a quick meal.

My family and I were highly disappointed. It my wife, my mother, and I along with our three kids. Our waitress was very nice and polite but the bar/drinks were our first issue, my mother ordered a strawberry lemonade and there was very little strawberry flavor or syrup in her drink so she had to ask for more syrup twice, the soda was flat as well. Then we ordered our food and what I asked for was out of stock so I had to change my order. My oldest orders chicken Alfredo and they bring her just noodles with no meat or sauce. They brought the kids food out first which I didn't mind because I would rather wait for my food then have my kids waiting. We then ordered spaghetti with meatballs, Cajun salmon, and my mom just got two appetizers which were the worst. Picture of our Buffalo wings are below and she also got zucchini but they were too mushy. We understood that the restaurant was super busy but when we were seated, most of the crowd started to file out. Just very disappointed with this particular location, if we ever go again it will never be to this one!
