I placed a to go order here during my lunch break. I loved that you could do it online and choose your pick up time. When I went to pick it up parking was very full. The parking lot is shared by many other places so you need to be careful where you park so you're not in a reserved spot. The place was not very crowded though. I was helped immediately and the service was great. The food itself was just okay though. I appreciate all the fresh ingredients but it was very greasy. I ordered the Sweet Bee Quinoa Bowl. There was a lot of grease left at the bottom of the container and the quinoa was very crunchy as if it hadn't been cooked very well. Visited for weekday brunch after two "not-happy" visits after it first opened in this location (due to freezing a/c the first time and poor service the second.) I am sorry to say that it still does not interest me. Although the place was not even half full, we first were seated two feet from a large family group with a noisy baby. After being moved, we were very happy with our friendly attentive server. However, the Avi omelette I ordered had no discernible cheese and the very good fresh veggies had been sautéed separately from the omelette, which had been totally separately cooked and then wrapped around the veggies. I never ever have had the eggs cooked separately from the filling in my many years of omelette eating, and I did not like that at all! My friend enjoyed her poached eggs and goetta. read more

Sleepy Bee is a favorite in Cincinnati and you can expect a wait on the weekends but it is worth it. The food is consistently good and so is the service. I LOVE Sleepy Bee! I probably dine in or carry out 1-3 times a week. They hands down serve the best coffee Cincy has to offer. My favorite menu items are The Worker Bee, Blue Ash Smash, and any of the buttermilk pancakes are AMAZING. I love how they serve fresh and locally sourced food as much as they can. I would give them 5 stars but they consistently forget a few things in my to go orders. They always forget the salad dressing, I don't always have time to open everything to check. You essentially pay $4 for a side of lettuce and carrots, so always check your salad before you leave with your carry out. Another thing that frustrates me is they do not include silverware with their to go orders, I just wish they would just add a silverware option to their online ordering. I usually have to stop a server that's busy so they can grab it and I just feel bad! read more

My issue is with the execution...Sleepy Bee is one of those restaurants where you read the menu and have a hard time deciding because everything looks so good, then you get the food and you're sadly disappointed. Sleepy Bee has been on my bookmarked places to go for a very long time but due to wait times, I haven't had time to go until today. I was very excited about their Blue Ash location. It has better parking options than their Hyde Park location and it doesn't seem as busy. Since I was alone, I had an instant seat at the bar. I will say the food is absolutely amazing. I could eat those breakfast potatoes for days. Seriously, they were that good. They also have amazing pancakes. I left with a very happy tummy. Now why did I give them three stars? One reason is the price. I feel $11 for blueberry pancakes is a bit steep (even if they are really tasty). Not to mention if you add ANYTHING extra, it's an extra dollar...per add on. If you get pancakes (with one add on), a side, and a small mocha, you're looking at a $25 meal for one person. The second reason for three stars is the service. The staff is friendly and nice but it was a snails pace in there. I don't know where the breakdown exists but the whole experience was so slow. Slow to get your drinks and slow to get your food. Despite the price, I would totally eat there again because the food is that good. However, I might fall asleep if the pace doesn't pick up. read more

I've always had a wonderful experience here! In the past I've gone with my friends and I usually got the Nutty Bee (which is very good) but today I was feeling something more savory. I went with my mom and a family friend: I got the Gobble Omelet, my mom got the leeks omelet, and my family friend got the Mediterranean sandwich in a lettuce wrap. They also got this yummy tomato coconut (not sure what it was called exactly) soup. I opted for sweet potatoes as my side. Even though we went during a peak time, I used the NoWait app and we were seated relatively soon after we met for lunch (a busy 12 pm on a Sunday!). Kind, affable waiter. Good service. Previous reviews said that it was a little loud, but we were seated outside and I could carry a regular conversation without having to raise my voice. The food was warm, fresh, delicious, and very flavorful. I actually sampled a little bit of the leeks omelet and the lettuce wrap and it all tasted amazing! At the end, I was comfortably full without feeling bloated. My only regret is that I forgot to take pictures of my food for this! It looked so yummy when it came out that I just dove right in. The place was much larger inside than expected. They were able to accommodate our party of 10 without issue on a sunday morning. The service was a little slow, but they were very busy. I had the "mushrooms rule the world" that was delicious, and my wife had their special pancakes that were pretty tasty too. This place has needed an update for awhile and in sorry it's taken me so long to provide it. Since my first visit, I have been to this particular SB about 4 times. I have not been disappointed by service or food since. MY favorite vegetarian breakfast is the tofu scramble with toast and red potatoes. So delicious! They have the best chai I've ever had as well! Once, when I was eating alone at the bar, a Good Samaritan paid it forward and took care of my check. I in turn, did the same on a following visit. I appreciate the culture of a restaurant where this happens. Sleepy Bee in Blue Ash is great and one of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch when I have time to wait. read more

This is a very good place for breakfast. This is not your normal greasy spoon hearty breakfast place. They have very healthy alternatives. You will like the food though even if you are a biscuits and gravy with extra sausage and grease kind of person like me. I had the tofu scramble. It wasn't what I was expecting but it was till good. I actually like tofu. It came with red skin potatoes and multi grain toast. It was all really good. My wife had Avi Omelet. She really enjoyed and the taste that I had was good. She also got a blueberry pancake. The syrup you could tell had honey and it turns out, the pancake was delicious without syrup. To me that is a sign of a good pancake. Our favorite brunch place! We've never had a bad meal here (and we've eaten here probably at least 10 times between the Oakley and Blue Ash locations). In addition to great coffee, they have a lovely selection of good quality tea bags from which to choose (upon request). The Blue Ash location is bigger and brighter than Oakley, so I prefer it for a larger group. The facilities are very child friendly and waiters are good with kids too. read more

I love the ambiance of this place. Bright, full of energy, and great service. You're likely in for a wait if you shoot for high tide weekend hours, but same with all popular brunch spots. During my last visit with my youngest son, I had the Queen Bee sandwich and he had the Avi omelet (no kiddie stuff for this 6th grader). I liked the idea of my sandwich more than the actual sandwich. For me, the ciabatta bread was overwhelming. The flavors were all fresh, just not super exciting. My little guy crushed his omelet and loved his decaf mocha. So, I will continue to try the Bee and hope to find my inspired dish. I like this place... just not my favorite yet. read more

In the past, you could see more families w kids and sleepy bee team used to encourage families to dine w helping bigger parties. Now, 90% of the crowd is couples, smaller groups w no kids and empty nesters. If you try to get a table for 4-5 with 2-3 kids, they will do everything to change your mind to leave for another place or ask you to wait at least 45-60 mins w infants. The Cincinnati brunch scene has a lot of amazing restaurants and I can't say this is one of them. In terms of some positives, they have great drink selections however, they are no longer serving alcohol. My coworker recommended we go here for lunch, and after seeing their menu online, I was excited to try it. They have a really unique menu and I love that the food is locally sourced. I got the goetta sandwich with a side of sweet potatoes, both of which were great. The sweet potatoes had great flavor and the sandwich was fantastic. My coworker got their Moroccan chicken salad sandwich, which according to her didn't seem to have much flavor. Her side salad looked great though. We both got muffins afterwards and their blueberry was really delicious. The prices are a little steep, but it's a good spot for special occasions. It's popular enough that you have to wait to get a seat, but it's fun to look at how they used the bee theme in a cute way - in the art, on the mugs, on the walls, etc. The food was really something else. Breakfast food is my favorite and they did not disappoint. They take things you normally like and kick it up a notch...or three. Tasted a tea that I'd never heard of, but enjoyed it so much. Tried to see if I could buy it there, then I tried all over the internet - it was a chaga orange tea. Try it! My daughter got some amazing pancakes and I got something that is out of this world - creme brulee oatmeal. Wow is all I can say! Of course, it tastes like breakfast and dessert all in one. Have been back and will continue to go back. If only you didn't have to wait so long both inside for a place to eat and outside for a parking place. As a former resident of the Blue Ash area, I was curious as to what the inside of the new location looked like! They did a great job with the space! It has a huge, open dining room with a much bigger coffee counter / bar than Oakley, in addition to a larger area to wait for a table. If that were to get full you could definitely wait in the breezeway (which will be great as it gets colder). The outdoor patio is nice as well and would be a great place to relax and eat on a nice day! There is also a private room off to the side which could be really great for special events and large groups. Awesome! I didn't stay to eat but I grabbed a coffee and muffin to go right around 7am when they opened and it was delicious as I expected it to be. I can't speak to the quality of the kitchen staff at this location or the wait staff because I didn't dine in, so once I get the chance to stick around, I'll update my review. 4 stars for now! read more

The folks at Sleepy Bee in Blue Ash did an absolutely wonderful job helping us get in and out quickly. I only had 25 minutes to come in and eat and they did everything they could to make sure that we accomplished this goal. We ordered the Worker Bee and the Chorizo Omelette. Both items were delicious. This was HANDS DOWN the best bacon I've ever eaten in my life. I love Sleepy Bee! It has a cute ambiance and a friendly staff at all the locations. The food is perfect for your brunch craving. You can get pancakes (the blueberry is amazing) or sandwiches and so much more. My all time favorite on the menu is the pulled chicken sandwich. Please try this, it has beautifully toasted bread with pulled hot chicken, nectar sauce, greens and house made pickles. It is a perfect bite and I recommend asking for extra napkins because it's a little messy. I have been to sleepy bee more times than I can count and they never disappoint. read more
