Small paws cremations is the best. The owner of company is so sweet! When our bunny passed (toro) it was so sad for us (2019-2025) but in the end, we got something beautiful to remember her with. Small paws has multiple packages you can choose from that fits your preference and budget the best. They do private cremations too which is nice. They also had a menu for us to choose if we wanted to add any other small details to our package. The communication was amazing with Romo he's the best. And he personally picked up toro from our home and delivered her ashes back to our house when everything was done. The nice part about it is that small paws picks up from your home and brings everything back to you. Toro got her own van to her self and got delivered to Long Beach with the upmost respect and care. We had multiple concerns and fears looking for a perfect place for toro to be cremated at, but all of our fears were eased when we met with Romo personally and spoke to him in person. Even when I first spoke to him over the phone, it made me trust him a lot. When he came to pick up toro we learned that he started this company after his dog passed and also that the dog in the small paws logo is actually inspired off of his dog he started this company because he wants pet owners to have something special to remember their pets with. We reached out to Rommel at Small Paws Cremations when our beloved Teddy (Mini Australian Shepard) passed on. We were absolutely devastated, and completely shaking up from our loss. That being said when Rommel answered the phone he carefully walked us through each option he had available and a step by step of process of what would take place once he arrived and took possession of Teddy. He arrived on time, once inside our home he went through the options if we would like a cremation of our choice and if we would like any additional keepsakes. We decided not to keep the ashes although the paw prints, nose prints, and clay paw print we did want. Once that was finished I chose to bring Teddy out to his van myself. Rommel, had a special animal gurney with a blanket and straps to hold our pup down. Teddy was the only animal in the van which made it very comforting. Throughout the next few days Rommel checked in and updated us via text/email on Teddy going through the crematory and when his keepsakes were ready. Rommel, scheduled time and delivered Teddys keepsakes in a nice bag tagged with Teddys name. Inside each keepsakes was individually wrapped nicely and neatly. The presentation of it all was a great touch. Of course once we unwrapped each of them it brought us to tears all over again. I would give Romo & Small Paws 100 Stars Lucky is my baby, protector of my soul, my bestest friend, my champion, my pride, my love and my heart. Everyday of his life that he gifted to me was filled with laughter, lessons & joy in love. I did not expect him leaving so soon. One more company promised to call back, but 10 min later when they didn't, mom said, there is no high price for our Lucky. He always got the best, he always was lucky in everything. If Romo picked up the phone, that means that Romo will be the best to take care of our Lucky. We wanted Private cremation only. Romo came in less than an hr. Very compassionate, understanding, thorough in explaining, never pushing or rushing, affirmed in my heart that my Lucky will be taken care the best way to the end. I was not comfortable with time frame it would take for me to have Lucky's ashes back but Romo explained the process and left me at ease. Lucky was treated the same gentle way as though human was going into the ambulance car on the rolled out bed. We lost our cat (Jasper) to lymphoma and were devastated. We were fortunate to have him pass at home and so lucky to have found Small Paws. Jasper's Departure: The night we met Rommel I was a mess, but he was very compassionate and understanding during our last goodbyes. He never rushed us and handled Jasper's body with amazing care. He offered us the opportunity to cremate any special items with his body. We chose his favorite catnip banana and bed. The fact that we did not have to drive Jasper far (from West LA) after work hours saved us from being more distressed and overwhelmed after his passing. Memorial Pieces: We selected Package #4 because we wanted to have every possibility of remembering Jasper forever. We were stunned by the quality of every piece and how they all captured Jasper. His urn has a beautiful/solid wood finish and the name tag engraving is elegant. His paw and nose prints are perfection and make me so emotional because it's the closest thing to holding his paws. Joey wasn't just a family pet as she was a part of our family. She's been with us for 13 years; she's been with my older son since he was 1.5 years oold and my younger son has known her all his life. It's really really hard to write this review, and if it were on paper, it would be stained with tears. We knew ahead of time we would be saying goodbye to our beloved cat and spent a week finding the best people to carry out his cremation. We did just that. From the phone conversations with Amy who gave me all I needed, then working with Tony until the end, we knew we found the most sensitive, trustworthy, and creative (I'll explain) place in Small Paws Cremations. If you're looking for a compassionate company to help during one of your most vulnerable moments, this is the one. We woke up at 6am to find that our Reggie had passed away on Halloween morning. We called Small Paws Cremations shortly after and Tony, our contact throughout the process, came within the hour. He had come with his own blanket and carried out Reggie with the utmost care, allowing us some time to say goodbye if we needed. We chose option package #3 which included: - Pet pickup / remains drop off. - "Private Cremation", where he would be cremated without other animals. - "Private Cremation Certificate", which seemed akin to a death certificate. - A beautiful wooden urn with a photograph of your dog of your choosing. - Ink paw print. In addition to the package, we added a wooden paw print and nose print bundle, as well as the clay paw impression. One thing I do wish was that there could have been a selection of some design choices on maybe the type/color of the urn, fonts, which would make me feel like I could be a part of the process. After everything the invoice came out to a little short of $600 (I believe the price is partly based on the weight of your pet), which we felt was a competitive price; we are located in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area. The process took about a week for them to make the imprints and reunite us with his ashes. On top of the items we ordered, we received a beautiful poem about Reggie as well as a card of condolence, which really touched our hearts. Small Paws Cremations was so professional, efficient, and above all, compassionate. Reggie was with us for 16 wonderful years and he was my best friend. I apologize for taking 1month today to write this, but it is still so difficult to conceive my Boy is no longer with me. We spent 17 amazing years together, he was my son and he was taken care of as such. On Feb. 7, 2025 he said goodbye to us, on his terms. We had discussed the difficult decision to euthanize but Buddy being Buddy, was going to do things on his terms, and so he did. My wife contacted Small Paws as I didn't have the emotional strength to even have that conversation. Tony showed up at the time agreed, he waited and gave us all the time we needed to say our most difficult final goodbye to Buddy as we did not want to let go. He helped me wrap buddy up on his favorite blanket to give him privacy and respect, helped me pick up his bed where he laid and place him on the gurney. I felt very comforted Buddy was being given that special treatment he was so used to receiving. Tony promised he would do his best to return Buddy to us as soon as possible and he kept his promise. 1 week later, Buddy was back home with us. Tony came to our home and delivered Buddy himself. Although we were not seeing a wagging tail, we were so relieved to have him back. Tony handed us a Certificate of Cremation, a certificate of completion, Buddy's paw prints, Buddy's nose print, a beautiful personalized hand written sympathy card, a poem with Buddy's picture on it, EVERYTHING was so special that only resembled how SPECIAL Buddy was for us. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Small Paws! The day our beloved cat Ginny died at home, I was overwhelmed and didn't know what I was supposed to do. I called several cremation companies who ranged from indifferent to downright dismissive when they gave me information about their services. Everything was different when I called Romo, the owner of Small Paws. His first words were of condolence and how he understood how difficult all of this was. He was patient as I tearfully asked questions about their services, including a price quote. He inquired about Ginny, her life, her personality, and how long we had her, among other details. I told him I would call back after I conferred with my husband. Once I called back to secure his services, he confirmed everything we had discussed, got my address, and told me he would arrive to pick up Ginny within 2 hours. This was on a Friday night in Los Angeles and he didn't hesitate to drive from Burbank to Torrance in evening traffic! When Romo arrived (wearing a uniform to identify his company), he had a gurney for us to place Ginny on while we said goodbyes. We signed our contract and he reviewed the full process thoroughly and carefully for us. I was clearly struggling with whether to send Ginny with her blanket that she was wrapped in or to hold onto it. He assured me that she could stay wrapped in her blanket in their freezer while waiting for her turn for cremation and that he would return her blanket with her cremains. He even offered to wash the blanket if we wanted that, though we declined so that it would still smell like her for her brother. He left a respectful distance for us to kiss our little girl goodbye and look at her for the last time. Then he carefully loaded the gurney into the back of his with van (which was properly branded with Small Paws so he was easily identifiable). He said goodbye and reminded us that he would email with updates along the way. Then he drove off slowly with his hazard lights on, as though he was leading a funeral procession. The entire pickup process was professional, warm, respectful, and comforting. During the process, Romo regularly communicated with us. He confirmed that Ginny had arrived safely at their cremation facility, provided an emailed copy of the contract that we signed, and he requested a couple photos of Ginny. His attention to detail and professionalism shined in every contact we had with him. Once Ginny's cremains were ready, he arranged to personally bring them back to our home. As promised, he returned Ginny's blanket to us safely. My husband said he was kind, warm, and empathetic as he provided the package with her cremains and keepsakes. I've enclosed photos of what was in the package, which was more than we had discussed! The clay paw print impression of her two front paws also had her name nicely imprinted on it. There was a card stock with an inked set of her paw prints. Additionally, he included a handwritten condolence card (written by Romo), a printed card with the story of the Rainbow Bridge, a certificate of completion indicating the authenticity of her private cremation, and a beautiful full color print of Ginny with a poem about holding her as she took her last breath. Finally, they nicely packaged up her cremains in a small velvet pouch. Although I was crying as I looked at everything, I was overwhelmed by the care Small Paws took in creating such a comforting package for us. I highly recommend Small Paws! My niece found Romo as I was so devastated to even think - my precious Chloee passed away at home in my arms.
