I was craving the Jalapeno bacon Sriracha burger from Denny's but didn't really feel like driving all the way to the nearest one so I decided to go to Smashburger, for the first time, to try their Spicy Jalapeno Baja burger. Between these two, Denny's burger beat Smashburger's burger. The spice level, flavor, bun, everything. Smashburger was good but not delicious. The smash fries were good though. Had lunch here today. It wasn't busy at all and were greeted very quickly. I don't like fast food like food so I didn't have high expectations but had always heard good things. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and my girlfriend had the avocado club. We also shared the Smash Fries and a Butterfinger shake. The fries were very good and so were the burgers. They aren't gong for the healthiest food here but it was still very good and had great flavor. The shake did a great job of cutting the richness of the burgers and fries. I was super excited when they opened up this place in my home town, even more so when they offered a groupon for buy $6 get $12. I've eaten at the one in Plymouth, MN before and it was always great. Hot food, great service, awesome atmosphere. The one in Eden Prairie, MN - not so much. I was greeted by a greasy haired teenager who took my order. Then I was given the wrong food. When I went back to tell them, I was made to wait in line to re-place my order. Then I had to wait again for my corrected order, which came out cold. I'm pretty sure they just gave me my wrong order after waiting a few minutes thinking I wouldn't notice. I will NEVER come here again. read more

Every time I have been to Smashburger, the staff have been incredibly friendly and the food is wonderfully delicious. The small smash is the perfect size burger to eat with a side of fries. The smash fries are great to try but they are very flavorful and I think the regular fries compliment the burger better. The service is quick, the greeting at the register always surprises me (asking how I am instead of just pushing my order through). This is just a great place for a fantastic meal. read more

I have never eaten in a Smashburger before and as I waded through the menu the helpful lady taking my order suggested the jalapeño with pepper jack cheese and chipolte burger which I switched to chicken. Ordered the smash fries with olive oil and rosemary and topped it off with a salt caramel hand dipped shake!!! Perfect!!! read more

Not sure if I would go back. Got the classic burger -- meat was fresh and had a good taste and the egg hamburger buns are excellent. The onion was a little stringy. The area that disappointed were the sides. I got the fried pickles which were ok, but very bland w/o the ranch dressing. The onion strings were greasy as hell and somewhat soggy -- would never get them again. That said, the dipping sauce was very good. I splurged and got the Haagan Daz chocolate shake -- didn't taste like the Haagan Daz shakes you get at their stores. Not really creamy or satisfying. Service was nice -- the ladies working the counter were friendly and seemed to be working hard. read more

Great burger, great price. For the price point, smash is hard to beat. The service is pretty fast, staff is polite and the accommodations are adequate. There is outside seating for when you have the urge to overlook the highway. If you are looking for a place that can serve you a beer with your burger, or bring the kids for a good burger, you can't go wrong. read more

Smashburger's quality of food is tough to beat. I went there on my hour lunch, and the service was not the fastest, I ended up making it back to work a little late actually. The server accidentally brought out the wrong food to me twice, but when I finally got my correct meal, it was AWESOME! I was ecstatic to find that they have Smashburgers out here in Minnesota, so I will be eating here again and giving them another shot, hopefully with some better service. read more

Not impressed with the service. Waited over 30 minutes for our food and only half of our order came. The employee who brought the food said he would go tell the kitchen to make the missing part of our order right away. 30 minutes later we are still waiting, while other customers who came in a while after us are getting their food. We asked the same employee who stated he would talk to the kitchen to put our order in and he said there was no order in the kitchen for our food (???). I've always been a bit apprehensive about the quality of their food, but I cannot lie, I love their sweet potato smash fries! But the service is just insanely poor.. Like, you guys... Standing in line for 15 minutes, being the next person to order, only to have to wait there for another 10 (with NO communication from the guy behind the desk), only to end with giving up and going back to my own workplace with no food, is just unacceptable. He scrambled around, running from the register to the pick up area, to the tables, then back to the register. With NO human interaction with me while I'm standing RIGHT there ready to order (Togo). Like, sure dude, do you job. But, I can't support a business that is clearly either understaffed, or simply Its employees are not capable of fulfilling any sort of interpersonal skills whatsoever. I hate to be so heated towards certain individuals... But, at the end of the day... If this ONE guy is clearly doing the majority of the work out on the floor and behind the register, that is solely on the business management and the company as a whole. Either up the staff during peak meal times, or accept defeat and shut this sad attempt at a business down. There have now been several encounters in this type of scenario and I have held my tongue with these few individuals. I have been patient long enough to walk out the door with the food I intended to enjoy. Today for lunch I decided to go to Smashburger here in EP. I had been before and it was delicious. Unfortunately today was a very different experience. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and milkshake... The burger could have been better, the bun was stale & hard and the burger was not fully cooked,almost tasted microwaved, and it looked like a two year old smushed everything together, the fries were good but mostly cold. The milkshake was AWESOME though. When I arrived I stood there waiting and waiting, even though they weren't busy, finally a person showed up took my order and didn't seem very into what they were doing at all. What a disappointment their lack of consistency, I spent $13 which is pretty expensive, bigger bummer when I could have had the same meal at Wendy's for a lot less. I have given Smashburger two tries to impress me and has failed on both occasions. I ordered the BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar Burger with the Smash Fries, and on a previous visit a chocolate malt. The burger patty was cooked the same as any fast food restaurant, grey and tasteless. There was hardly any bacon, the cheese might as well have been non-existent, and the onions added a slight flavor. The fries were okay. The rosemary added a little bit of uniqueness but they weren't as crisp as i'd prefer. The shake was good but isn't all that hard to do. It was special in any respect. I can get something better at Fuddruckers. Most of all the a-la-cart style jacks up the price way to much to be worth going to. I had better for similar prices at other places. read more

Honestly, this was the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant like Smashburger (Eden Prairie location). The food was fantastic. I had a Twin Cities burger and I can see now why this place is so popular. I had a wonderful server named Abby. She was very bright, cheerful, and helped me in any way I asked. Rarely do I have a server as positive and bubbly as she was, so it made for a lovely time. She truly helped make it a five star experience. Over all, this location was a wonderful place to visit, the food was incredible, and even its prices are more than reasonable for such high quality food. The service is so bad here, that I ended up walking out without any food after waiting 40 plus minutes. If you have that long to wait to have them make your order multiple times, maybe the food is worth it, but I wouldn't know it. I went somewhere else. This was really good. I can't say better than Five Guys but easily as equal. Depends on your mood. I had sweet potato fries that were delicious along with a BBQ bacon burger . The bacon was crunchy rather than soggy so that's a key endorsement right there. The Gorilla had a jalapeno something something that he said was really good along with the onion rings. He liked the flavor of the rings but declared they were too skinny overall. Very much worth additional visits. read more
