Dr. Kunwar is simply the best in the SCV/Castaic area. Hands down, and it's not even close. Amazingly friendly staff that make it such a calming, and easy-going experience. His number one priority is to ensure the best level of care for you and your teeth's/gum's health, and it absolutely shows within his level of work. He breaks down and makes understanding complex dental procedures easy, which is a sign of a master-craft professional who has done this for many years of his life. Dental work can also sometimes be a frightening experience with how sensitive teeth/gums can be, but with the level of skill of Dr. Kunwar, I've never had any issues, even with a procedure as serious as a dental implant. He makes it his utmost priority to minimize sensitivity to make it as pain-free as possible. Whenever something may cause unavoidable discomfort, he goes out of his way to provide ample warning, and talks you through what to expect way ahead of time. It's a night and day difference between Dr. Kunwar and other dental offices I had gone to before. If you need to see a dentist, Dr. Kunwar should be the first and only place, absolutely highly recommended. I went in for a root canal. He didn't wait for me to numb and started drilling. I was panicking because it was hurting and he said he couldn't finish and I would have to see a specialist. If I needed to see a specialist then why try and work on my tooth first. Secondly they got paid for it and I had to call my insurance and get it back, so I was able to go somewhere else. My husband and I came in as new patients and were so impressed. Dr. K is a kind, soft-spoken man who took his time with both my husband and I in our respective exams. He made sure to thoroughly explain each x-ray picture and procedure (extremely important when establishing trust with new patients), and was willing to answer every question we had. I had some surprise cavities, and even mid-filling, he would stop and show me every step to ensure I understood what was happening and why. What really won my trust is when he had the opportunity to upsell on a root canal, but he stuck to drilling and filling a deep cavity instead. The whole of the staff was personable. The lady at the front desk immediately assisted us and knew who we were without introducing ourselves (the benefit of a small and organized clinic). We were greeted by Lilibeth, the hygienist, who was lovely and a pleasant person to be around. Financially speaking, Dr. K's quotes came in under the average from our area (if you don't use healthcare bluebook, check it out!), and provided them prior to the procedure. Lilibeth explained each cost, what was covered by insurance, and what would be out of pocket. Not a single procedure was pushed, and we didn't feel pressured in the least which allowed us to make the best choices for our oral health. The staff is very friendly and they don't make you wait around forever when you have a appointment with them. Amazing first experience! Highly recommended! Dr. Kunwar helped explain the current health of my teeth in such a manner that shows he cares. Dr Ravinder Kunwar is an awesome dentist. I have already had some teeth procedures done through him and he did them perfectly. He has a steady hand, keeps me busy through nice conversations and everything got done nicely without pain. I had PPO dental insurance, so my expenses were covered well through insurance. However if you do not have one then also you will not be burdened with loads of charges since his non-insurance charges are minimal and affordable. I went to the dentist for the first time in years. YES First in my life. Best in my life too. I've had a few cleaning ... deep cleaning, and now that I'm on in the big old world alone and no one has been forcing me to go, I put it off. So I called to make an appointment a couple weeks ago before my India visit. They called to confirm two days in advance, and also sent me a text to remind me. How nice! My experience was the fact that I showed up on time for my appointment today but then ended up taking big nap and cleared my jet lag . Good Posture recliner and cool temperature maintained, quite room which forced me to go sleep. After that, I had my x-rays done and Dr. RAVINDER KUNWAR went through and explained the images with me. Said everything looked fine, and made a few recommendations of options that were available to me. He did not, however, pressure me to opt for any of them, which was a nice relief. Got deep clean. We talked about my brushing habits (good) and flossing habits (or lack thereof), and he gave me the usual reminders. Next, he did most of my teeth cleaning and nicely removed the right bottom and top wisdom teeth. One Job is done. Not double ( Do I care about left wisdom teeth ??) In any case, I left with a throbbing, but much cleaner mouth that I came in with, and everything was covered. HAPPY. Side note: There's a huge parking lot. Love it.
