Could have been better. For the exorbitant prices, it certainly should have been better. We lost our old Thai restaurant on the beach and were shopping for a new one where we could become loyal fans. Not this place. We took it for a test drive with pad Thai. It was underseasoned, and the noodles were soggy. When we told them about it, they seemed indifferent. Nevertheless, we thought we'd give them another shot. Let's try the curry. My wife ordered shrimp; I went for duck. Here's the heart of the problem. The sauce was actually not bad, but the proteins were dry and divorced from the dish. It was obvious that they'd prepared them separately and then dunked the protein into the sauce at the end to warm it. It was downright criminal what they did to that duck. Got take out during the shutdown. Immediately while walking in you see a table with hand gel and gloves for you to utilize should you choose. Everything was very clean. It was obvious this establishment cares. We ordered spring rolls which were the best we ever had. The fried rice was good, made with sushi rice which was nice. Fried banana to finish. Very satisfied. Wow I tried this place based on the 4 1/2 stars review and I was wrong. I spent $30 on two orders and it was beyond bland...my curry dish tasted like water and curry powder (add some boiled vegetables) and second dish was clear stir fried noodles with zero taste. I requested for medium spice too! Heavy sigh don't bother with this place unless you have IBS and need something ultra bland and tasteless. read more

Some friends were craving Thai at 9pm so we stopped in here. Despite being close to closing time the employees were super nice & the food wasn't rushed out to us, but cooked and sauced to perfection. It is, by far, some of the most authentic and delicious Thai cuisine we've had since moving to Florida three years ago. And, it certainly exceeds the other Thai places in this area. GLUTEN FREE options!!! We went here based on reviews written under its former name. The place is a little hole in the wall BUT DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU! It was so good! We are all Gluten free and they did a great job of making the food to fit our dietary needs. I am very impressed by their attitude and care. This little hole-in-the-plaza was surprisingly quite good. Now if you're looking for customer service and being coddled, this is not your spot, but if you want good food, then go for it. Introductory note: in our hometown, we don't have a Thai place, so we eat Thai whenever we travel. This place is close to our folks, so we didn't expect to be blown away by a place with a tiny dine-in area (they rely mostly on carry out). Wow! We were pleasantly surprised at portion sizes, cost, service time, and - of course - taste. The lunch specials come with rice soup (delightful with the scallions) and an egg roll (crunchy and just the right two-bite size) along with a portion of your entree. I had the red curry and it was amazing. Well balanced in spice, sweet from the coconut milk; plenty of veggies and chicken to mix in with the rice. Husband had he black pepper garlic; he was expecting a tad more heat but the flavor was good and, again, a great portion considering the soup and egg roll. My life is not complete unless I eat Thai food at least once a week. Sometimes I don't have the time nor desire to eat in at a sit down Thai restaurant so I've been looking for an on the go quick style place. I happened to pass by smiley Thai while I was at largo mall waiting to get my phone fixed. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to try it out The restaurant closes from 3-4 between lunch and dinner every day. I arrived around 2:30 but knew I'd be quick enough to get done before their break. Upon entering the environment is quite unimpressive. It's obvious that it used to be a Chinese take out place and they haven't done much renovating. The menu is just like it was when it was still a Chinese place - just a few pictures on the wall with the dish names handwritten underneath. You can order at the counter and then sit at the booths/tables or take it to go. The service was friendly. The menu options are fairly simple and included my 2 favorites - amazing chicken and pad Thai. I decided to keep it uber simple and went with the pad Thai. I took a seat and the cashier brought out a small cup of soup and a spring roll as an app. It was a nice surprise! While eating soup and waiting for my meal I noticed how incredibly hot it was in the restaurant. Uncomfortably so. If I had noticed before ordering I might have taken it to go and eaten in my car instead. They could benefit from turning down the AC a few degrees in here. Next my meal came out quickly. The pad Thai was a very generous portion and the flavor was great. For the price (6.95 for all of this!) it was a great deal. Due to the scorching temps inside and the fact that my little dining buddy wasn't too happy at the time, we quickly ate and skidaddled out of there. Overall the verdict is a-ok (I'd give 3.5 if I could) I will return. Next time I'll get the amazing chicken and will take it to go if it's still a sweat box in there. read more

Best Thai in the Largo, Seminole, Clearwater, St. Pete area. After spending almost 2 years trying to find a perfect Thai restaurant, this one is only 1 1/2 miles from our home. We will stop looking and being disappointed with mediocre "almost Thai food". If you really love Thai food and know how you wanted it cooked and spiced, then this is the place to go.
