Soggy lettuce leaves and stalk! Unexpired salad but funky tasting
    Fatima E.

Wasn't expecting a gourmet salad but the item that didn't leave my refrigerator overnight, until lunch the next day proved to be a mistake. The salad leaves had stalks, the edges were browned and when I set these aside to at least enjoy the cucumber and shrimp, it tasted off. So much for a reliable healthy lunch. Another purchase two months ago was for a large bag of acid reduced Coffee beans (Puroast). I didn't open this till recently only to discover it had expired over six months ago. When I told the cashier she said they can't exchange or give credit without a receipt. What's the point of the Smith's card? if they can give me coupons based on my recent purchases why couldn't they find this item. They'll also see that these are the first items I've ever exchanged since I signed up. Smith's is no longer the same supermarket they used to be.

Smith's policy to not allow Starbucks baristas to accept tips.
    Lisa H.

Why is it Smith's policy to not allow their Starbucks baristas to accept tips anymore? Tipping is the customer's prerogative. This takes $1-$2 per hour out of their pockets and I'm sure Smith's didn't raise their pay to compensate for this loss of income. I tried to tip and was told they were threatened with termination if they accepted. What exactly does this policy accomplish and who benefits from it? As the customer, I don't appreciate being told how I can spend my own money. Hopefully Smith's corporate will realize how abundantly ignorant this policy is and recind it in the future. All it does is rob these workers of any potential extra income.

    Great price!

Bumping this up a star because it has gotten better in recent months. I mean, I still prefer Albertsons up the road on Rainbow, but this place can have some really good deals from time to time. Just today they had 6- pack, 16 ounce bottles of Pepsi products for basically $2 each! (5 - 6 packs for $10) and 4 - 2liter bottles 4 bottles for $5! They can also have outstanding specials on frozen goods, lunch meats, and beer! You just have to keep your eyes peeled for the flyers with all the specials. Parking still sucks. Service has been hit or miss over the years, but lately it has been a lot more "hit" than "miss". A solid back up location that happens to be nearby, Smiths isn't necessarily my first choice, but it can be good in a pinch. 3 stars. A-Ok.

My bike got stolen, I can't believe someone can steal property on a Saturday afternoon in front of the store on camera. They did.

I was happy to see that they have a restaurant as part of their offerings. One of the best burgers was from a similar set up in Kentucky. I was full so I didn't get anything today but am planning a visit. This store feels bigger, maybe the restaurant helps with that. A lot of things were gone/low, but the lamb was aplenty. Hailey helped me and she was very knowledgeable about the cuts, recipes, temperatures etc. I'm not a lamb eater and only knew of NZ lamb. Hailey turned me on to Colorado lamb and it was all of the same standards and quality of NZ. She sliced up 4 chops for me, I also got their best bbq burger patty and some sausage stuffed mushrooms. I marinated the lamb, cooked in cast iron and basted in fresh garlic and butter - plated with some Romano crusted potatoes, lobster a$$, broccolini and salad. I got back a plate with bones on it like there was never any lamb! The burger was ok, I didn't do it justice with the flame a bit too high, it had good flavor though. The mushrooms were delicious little balls of flavor! I'll be back. When I don't bring in the things I want from la this is the next place I go. The staff is always kind and accommodating. If you don't see it, they'll order it. I'm also super excited to go back and eat!

Actually had to circle the parking lot a couple times to find a spot. Now if you've never been there, this store is certainly not like sprouts with nice wide aisles and neat and so cute displays . I mean its definitely not dirty or disorganized, but just a lot of product and crowded aisles and quite frankly on discount day there are some pretty crazed and sometimes rude people blocking the aisles. The produce today looked really good so I took advantage, even though I was more in need of some condiments and food from the hot line. I really enjoy the food from the hot line, always fresh, decent potion sizes etc. IMHO, better than seafood city. I also like their in store bakery when I desire some hot and fresh rolls and the like. So today other than one potential shopping cart road rage incident in the condiment aisle, I had a great shopping experience.

I was actually next door, picking up a sandwich, when I decided to go in and check it out since I haven't been here in a good few years. Imagine my surprise when the interior has changed and with new items! For me, I was very pleased to find that there was practically almost everything I would need to make some Hawaii local food. Definitely saves me a trip to International. The lady (owner?) told me that every other week, they get a shipment of produce and food items from Hawaii. They had Hawaiian chili peppers (which I used to make a huge batch of chili peppa watah), frozen Opihi, and fresh luau leaves at $5.99/lb to name just a few items. I bought a couple bags of luau and I can vouch that the luau leaves were good pieces and cleaned. In the back of the store, they had hot food. It looked (and smelled) really good. I didn't buy any because I was holding a bag with the sandwich I bought next store, but I will definitely come back and try the food next time.

I pulled a grocery cart at the entrance of the store and headed for the produce. I chose my fruit then went to the meat section and didn't see anything I wanted. I continued to walk around the fish/seafood section and looked down some of the aisles. I found some items down a couple of the aisles, then I went back to the produce section to pick up more fruit. After that, I went to the checkout line, paid for my groceries, then put my bags of groceries into my grocery cart. I pushed my grocery cart to the area where the grocery carts are returned inside the store and put my groceries that I had just paid for into my two (2) large tote bags that I brought with me to the store. I don't drive and the store is conveniently located near my apartment complex, so I can walk to and from the SF Supermarket. My tote bags that I brought with me make carrying my groceries easier while walking. By the way, my two (2) tote bags stayed on my shoulder the entire time I was shopping until it was time to put my groceries in my tote bags. As I turned to walk towards the exit of the store to leave, an older Asian woman (I didn't get her name) surprised me because she was frantically talking to me and pointing to my tote bags. I couldn't understand what she was saying, but her actions indicated that she wanted to look in my bags. She wanted me to go to the counter at the front of the store to check my bags. I arrived at that conclusion because she continued to point to the counter at the front of the store and continued to point/look at my bags. While still at the grocery cart return area, I opened my two (2) bags and held them towards her so that she could look in them, but she walked away. I walked towards the front entrance while asking her again if she wanted to look in my bags, but again she kept walking. I asked her two more times if she wanted to check my bags and my receipt. She then turned right and walked between the checkout counters towards the back of the store. I believed she continued to walk away because she realized I hadn't stolen anything. What thief is going to open up their bags for review if they stole something. Or maybe she already knew I hadn't stolen anything, she just wanted to make my experience at the store a horrible experience so that I wouldn't return to the store. I wanted her to check my bags to prove that I wasn't a thief. I think she wanted to humiliate me because of the color of my skin. I've been in that store five (5) times and I've seen her (and others) watching me, and today she decided to approach me and accuse me of stealing. My routine was the same as it was the four (4) times I was there before, putting my grocery bags into my two (2) tote bags and either returning the grocery cart inside the store or outside the store where grocery carts are returned. I left the store.
