Tried it once and didn't like it. BBQ is plain no smoke flavor not like real bbq. Greens are sweet which is a big no no!! The sauce selection sucks. Vinegar sauce is a must have for bbq! Just all around was generic food to me. The plus side the staff and owners are super friendly and the location is very nice and clean. Needs some improvement on the food. read more

We came on a Saturday around 5:30 and got lucky to be able to get a soul roll. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Staff was very pleasant, kind, and accommodating. Brisket was delish! Pulled chicken and pulled pork also good! They were out of banana pudding, but we will be back so hopefully try it then! read more

Fantastic and Excellent!!! It is so nice to be able to enjoy really good food in a pleasant and clean environment. Smitty walked around and asked people how their food was and he was so very kind. Loved hearing his "start up" story. The staff taking the order and preparing the food were respectful and pleasant. No fat in my pulled pork which is rare. Most barbecue places tend to be fatty. Found this restaurant on yelp and so glad we did! Everything from the food to the service was exceptional which is hard to find now a days. All of the meats were fantastic and did not have the typical liquid smoke taste. The sweet "OG" sauce was to die for and I don't even typically reach for that one. I am a snob when it comes to Mac n cheese and I have to say this was some of the best I've had in a while. We ordered quite a bit of food for our table and none of it was a disappointment. Incredible food, and incredible people! I had the wings, with the special sauce and they did not disappoint. I love smoked wings, and with the first bite, they became my favorite wings in the area! As far as service, they do things that they don't really have to do in terms of serving guests. I wouldn't have expected them to refill our drinks and come around to see if we needed anything, but they did! From an environment standpoint, it was great for our kids. A family spot for sure. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit! This is now a bit of a destination spot for our family. We feel like we can go here for all kinds of occasions..from birthday or special celebrations, to just a night out...and know that we're going to have a top notch meal/experience! My wife and I went to Smitty's barbecue for the first time this past Friday night. We got there at 7 PM and there were plenty of people already there and plenty of people still coming in when we did. You stand in line to get your food which takes a long time. They have two chalkboards with the prices of the food on them the first chalkboard said that the brisket plate was $17.85. But the second chalkboard, which is behind where they are serving the food, says that the brisket plate is $21. So I asked Smitty when I got to him which price was correct and he said whatever the lower price was. Looks like they need to get their act together on pricing their food. Anyway my wife got the two leg quarter plate of chicken with collard greens and french fries. It was pretty good but I ordered the brisket plate with collard greens and sweet potato crunch. They cut three little thin slices of brisket and then chopped them up for me which look like maybe a quarter pound of meat not very much at all. The brisket was very dry and only about room temperature not hot at all. The collard greens just had a good taste but they didn't bother to pull the greens off the stem it was mostly stems. My wife couldn't even eat hers. Sweet potato crunch was nothing to write home about at all. The french fries were french fries they were pretty good. They don't serve you your drinks at the table they give you a cup and you go up to the fountain and get your own drink. I know the sign on the door says they close at 7:30 however come 7;40 they close down the drink machine so even though we were there eating we could not go back and get refills on our drinks. Not a good way to run your business. For the money we will just go back down to the smoking pig. Much better food much better service. read more

This evening was my first visit to Smitty's. I intended to eat there but no seating was available due to the crowd. I ordered a to-go plate of a half rack of ribs, fries, and baked beans. The ribs were excellent -- meaty, slightly firm, and smoked just right with none of the "falling off the bone" nonsense. The sides were good too, but at $29.00 a plate, it's a little on the pricey side for me. read more

I did not get meat so I can't comment on it, The collard greens were very salty and had way to much liquid smoke, the sweet potato crunch was very sweet, felt like I was eating pure sugar. I ate one bite of each, didn't eat any more so left hungry. Wanted to give this place a try but will not go back. Felt like it was pretty pricey as well. read more

The only issue I have is seating but that's a good thing. When you start a business you don't know how successful it will be. Our first trip was today. Food was very good.
