I honestly didn't know what to expect when I walked in there. From the outside, it looked like a little hole in the wall, (not that there's anything wrong with that.) but from the inside it was a bit of a different story. However, the appearance and the atmosphere were the least of the dining experience. We started off the night with a wonderful waitress. Her name was, Patty. Super nice and super friendly. She made some great recommendations. We started off with the fried yuca, which was probably the best I've ever had. They also had these cheese sticks that were incredible. A little different than your traditional mozzarella stick, but delicious. Moving onto the entrées, the ribs were spectacular. One of the best ribs I've had anywhere in Florida. My wife had the brisket Mofongo, which she loved. The brisket was so soft and juicy and super flavorful. The Mofongo was slightly different than what we see in a Puerto Rican restaurant, but yet very tasty. We finished off the night with a brownie sundae. They have a smoked vanilla ice cream that for me wasn't something I would love to eat, but my wife and the couple we were with loved it. However, the star was the brownie. Fudgy brownie with nice chunks of chocolate on the inside. Love that texture difference. Then you have the owners, Harry and Michelle. They really rounded out the entire dining experience. Wonderful people. Incredibly nice to us the whole night. Checking in on us a few times throughout the night. I do a lot of reviews, and not just in Miami. I do a lot of traveling, and I will say this is one of the best places I have experienced in a while. Definitely recommend. read more

The delivery order was missing the most important (and expensive) part of the meal. The ribs. I called immediately and they said it was Ubers fault. Uber said they delivered what was given to them. I have visited Smoke and Dough since its early days, since I am also a customer of their other restaurant, Empanada Harry's. Smoke and Dough offers a very unique menu, with latin smoke/bbq fusion flavors. From Pastrami tequeños to brisquet, or truffled Mac and cheese, they have several options that make you want to come back to try them all. It has a cozy ambience, with the add up that their owners are always there, making sure you have a good experience each time. They also have several options of local and craft beers, as well as wine. After reading and hearing so many wonderful reviews about this place, Hubby and I finally got around to trying it. All I have to say is WHAT TOOK US SO LONG!!! It truly is above and beyond our expectations. We got takeout, and it was sooooooo good! The staff was courteous and helpful. We had pastrami sandwiches and the House Tostones con Lechon. The pulled pork was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. It was like a party of flavors, textures, and taste going on all together. Perfection! The pastrami was different than anything I've tried before, including from the delis in New York City, which is what I compare all pastrami to. This was a different but equally wonderful taste experience. The bread was not the usual rye, but it was also different and deliciously awesome. FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!!! This place is THE spot to come. The food is amazing and consistent! It's so hard to find spots in Miami that are worth going to. It's such a comfortable environment, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Smoke and dough is a great addition to West Kendall. It may still have some growing pains to go through but a great addition over all. I dock it 1 star because the service wasn't the best, our girl who brought us our food forgot to bring us knives and when we asked her again she forgot again! They felt fairly new to the job. I think within a few months they may have service squared away. Other than that the food was pretty good. The star was the Timba sausage! So good, juicy and great flavor, the brisket was good too. We wanted chicken and ribs but they had run out at 7pm on a Friday...(I'm hoping they get better at making enough). Smoke an Mirrors. My sister and I made a reservation for my mom's Birthday. My mom ordered the porkbelly and it was cold, in addition my husband and I ordered the Quattro Meat platter which was room temperature. The waitress' excuse was that the food was not intended to be "piping hot". (Are you kidding me?! For Meat?) It's interesting that the Mac and Cheese sides that were served with two of our entrees in paper cups remained "piping hot" all throughout the entire meal. The waitress never bothered to come by and check in on our table, my mom and husband never even got a second drink or were even asked if they wanted anything additional to drink. Our dirty plates from the appetizers remained on the table and at one point even when the entrees arrived. We personally had to put some of the empty plates and bottles on one of the empty adjacent small table tops because we had no space to eat. At one point we had to go search for our waitress because it seemed like she forgot we were still eating there. When our check came, I told the waitress how disappointed I was and I was even more disappointed to find out that she in fact was the manager. I deducted $10 from my automatically included 20% tip, therefore I still paid a $65 tip for terrible service and mediocre food and not one time did she even apologize or even take responsibility for her lack of attention and lack of service. Instead, I was reassured by the owner that she is actually one of their top servers---how sad. We have been customers of Harry's Empanadas since they opened. We came to support Smoke and Dough because of their recent appearance on channel 7 news and because of their write up on the New York Times list...so disappointing that my brother-in-laws smoked brisket did not even taste smoked, I guess its just a bunch of Smoke and Mirrors. read more

Saw this place on a food bloggers page on Instagram and decided to stop by a Saturday at 5:30pm. I have to say, Extremely disappointed overall. Starting with the service was terrible. I think they only have 2 waiters for a full restaurant. Owner was standing there half the time talking with a table while I waited 10 minutes for a glass for my beer... the appetizer came out at the same time our food. Waiter said the brisket was the best brisket in all of Miami. Love the confidence but no where near a good brisket. The pastrami was okay barely had any taste. Truffle Mac and cheese just tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese with truffle oil in it. The Gouda and Ham croquetas were good and the honey corn bread was also tasty. Our waiter never swung by to check up on the food or anything. Sat for 20 minutes to get my bill finally and leave. After $80 bucks for 2 people I would not be eating here again. read more

Awesome BBQ! We're happy to have this amazing restaurant in this neighborhood. We've been having their BBQ since quarantine and happy it's finally open now. All the meats are really good. Overall....it was ok, nothing special. The pulled pork was decent, but served with an oddly placed small dipping container filled with BBQ sauce (better to have the BBQ sauce in a squeeze bottle). The croquetas were good, probably one of the better menu items. However, the sausage was served cold and was a bit chewy (how does a BBQ joint serve cold sausage??). We also ordered the mac & cheese, which is best described as ordinary and the cornbread was very dry. And finally, the baked beans were delicious and the smoked flan is a bit of a dumb gimmicky dessert (the smokiness adds nothing to the taste - it hinders what could be a great flan; it was also too dense in consistency). The atmosphere is ok...but not very cozy plus the random music was loud and annoying. So, would I return? No. Miami will never get BBQ right, period. read more

Is too GOOOOOOOOD, in one spoon I put a little bit of corn bread, truffle mac & cheese and the smoked cafecito rub brisket. I cried an epic tear. The smoked charcuterie duck, don't let it deceive you, is a flavor bomb. The pan con tomate, was refreshing, the perfect combo of flavors, and satisfying. I'm eating their smoked chicken wings with their cuava BBQ sauce right now, and I feel like I cannot stop.
