My wife and I came here and the location was clean, had plenty of seating, and very kind people behind the counter to order. I got an egg sandwich with brisket that was out of this world, and my wife got a Cobb salad with pork belly and chicken that had amazing house dressing. I wasn't feeling it here. Food is edible and gets an "OK?" Rating from me. But I can't do this place much justice when they only serve Ribs on Saturdays. But you can buy the frozen ribs if you want .... thanks. No home made beverages either, just coke drinks out of the cooler. They did have their own BBQ sauce in a self serve hot crock pot. Made the food a bit warmer, that's about it. Not very comfy cozy friendly place if you ask me. I have only been to Gabi's once. The brisket was very tender (excellent). I wish the staff would have explained the process a little more than sit down and we will bring it to you. They were nice but a hurry up nice. Not a southern BBQ nice. You have to grab your own utensils napkins and sauce. I figured it out in a few seconds after the lady put the meal on our table and walked away. But when I ordered and stated I have never eaten there before it would have been nice to have had a bit more interaction. I really really hate to do this.... 1. I hate to say bad things about ANYBODY'S food. 2. I come off as an idiot because I gave this place such a stellar rating less than a year ago! What happened? I honestly don't understand except that the meals we had today were about the most awful meals we have ever had!!! This time there was no burnt edges to the pulled pork. It tasted like a pork butt was just put into a crock pot with ZERO seasonings and certainly no smoke flavor! Two bites and in the trash. The sliced brisket, besides being tough, also had ZERO smoke flavor - or any flavor! Baked beans were weird. Like boiled navy beans with a spoonful of sugar added. I've never had beans like this. Potato salad was way too mayonnaise-y. The only thing that was good was the roll-buttery and grilled. Have they changed their recipe or their chef? I don't know. For future customers, I'd say beware. Fall off the bone smoked ribs and the pulled pork and chicken were yummy. Great smoke flavor and a variety of sauces to try. The cornflake tenders were sweet and delicious. The smoked chicken wings were crispy and smokey, a great combination. Definitely will be back. read more

We went to the smoke shack looking around for rib places. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the taste of the ribs, Mac n cheese and potato salad. The seasoning on the ribs wasn't good, the potato salad was so bland and so was the Mac n cheese. I don't know how you mess up Mac n cheese, but they did. I will never go there again. read more

Love, love, love this BBQ find, so close to home! I did a search of the area for good bbq and didn't know this place was here. I got the Mac n cheese, YUM!!!! And a couple containers of pulled pork and BBQ brisket. Really delicious and so excited to go back and try all their other meats and sides! The staff was so friendly and nice. The worst Brisket I have had in my entire life. Dry and bland are the only words to describe this meal nobody should have to pay for. Mac and cheese seemed fresh and homemade but unfortunately no flavor. Other side flavorless. Best thing I had was the tap water to help me get the food dislodged from my throat. Me and my son slipped in to this small unimposing building, clean with simple quirky wall ornaments.. Seemed busy with sweaty people hauling out catering boxes of food. She answered my questions w/ a smile! A cornbread muffin was included w/ our meals. My husband ordered the Beef BRISKET plate. He chose cole slaw & potato salad as sides. I feel like it is worth every penny & you truly get what you pay for at Gabi's. Portions are plentiful. Beverages ( non alcoholic) are in a self serve cooler w/ a varied selection. There's only one diet soda available ( Diet Coke) but bottled water & numerous other options are offered. Tables were clean as well as the restrooms. I have been to Gabi's a few times. I recently started doing my own backyard BBQ so my standards are a bit higher. They meet my standard to keep me coming back. Quality meat that is smoked well. The BBQ sauces are good. I'm a big fan of the brisket. The owner will come out and ask you how your food is, which is big for me. It shows they really care. The owner said they had beef ribs one weekend and I wish I knew because I would have stopped in. I found their BBQ better than some places I went to in Austin TX, which says a lot. I have also had the best BBQ I ever had in Austin. Give them a try. read more

Tried new location and I was not impressed with the food. Wanted to try ribs and they said they only have them on the weekends. Ordered 2 meat combo with brisket and pulled pork. Portion was on small side for meats and the brisket was very fatty. They said "we ran out of cornbread " and offered no substitute. It's nice to finally have a good BBQ place around. We had ribs, pulled pork and brisket and the meat was excellent. The selection of sides is limited and my favorite was the cole slaw. I would have given it 5 stars for the food but the process of ordering and pickup wasn't smooth. It was a one man show and he was juggling several customers so I can understand the delay. Great little bbq find right off of I-93! Had the brisket and it was meltingly tender, so good. The collard greens were good too. The bbq sauce was a little vinegar-y for my taste but the meat didn't need it at all. It's order at the counter and eat at booths inside or at a cute picnic table outside.
