Let me start with service. Annabelle did an excellent job with service. She clearly is working hard for her tips. Ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. Menu says cornbread croutons. I usually order without croutons, but wanted to try the "cornbread" croutons. Salad came with regular looking croutons. Asked waitress. She asked "kitchen" who told her they were out of the cornbread croutons and just substituted regular. This is what Annabelle told me. Spoke with a manager who like Annabelle apologized and offered a coupon of some sort. I declined and explained there is a kitchen problem. She said the croutons were in fact cornbread. The only kind they have and serve. She assured me she would address the issue with the kitchen help and a new kitchen manager was coming on board next week. Bottom line, kitchen has much room for improvement. The venue itself was open and not terribly noisy with a number of televisions for viewing. I will say a greater variety of channels should be displayed. Several were on the same channel. The banana pudding was tasty. Buddy ordered ribs and said they were overcooked and dry. Felt bad because I've had great ribs at other SB locations. This particular location clearly has some kitchen work ahead. read more

We went on a night that wasn't busy at all. We were seated immediately but after 15 minutes we went to let the host know that no one had been with us yet. He did take our drink order and let our server know that we were there. When she came out she took our order and the nachos are really good. We ordered drinks from the bar and she never brought them, the bartender actually walked them over because they had been ready for so long. She took almost 10 minutes to come back and get our check when we were ready to leave. For dinner we ordered The Bone Fire for 2. It was dry, over cooked, and not seasoned at all. Its like they relied on the sauce to add flavor but there wasn't any seasoning on the meat. The waitress in the section next to ours was very attentive to her tables and I wish we would have gotten her instead. We did let the waitress know that her service was slow and that she needs to pay more attention to her tables espicially when its not busy. I felt bad about the lack of customers so I still left her a 20% tip. I just hope she does better in the future. read more

I tried to order online from the Avon location, however they were not yet capable. I called to place my order... 2 of the $99.99 BBQ Party Packs. Because I could not order online, I was not able to see the options other than the description (3 meats, 2 sides). I was not aware of all the upcharges for various items. What should have been about a $200 order, ended up $270 with the upcharges! Okay... lessen learned. But how was the food and was it worth the upcharges? I would have to say no. The baby back ribs (+$26 upcharge) where very tough, Mac/cheese (+$5).... Dry and bland, brisket (+$20)....fatty and the dry rub was very salty. The pulled pork and pulled chicken weren't bad but they weren't great either. The Turkey was almost shaved. The wings actually looked promising. The roasted corn left people guessing what exactly was in it besides roasted corn. The slaw and beans were adequate. I noticed buns were not included. I was told they did not include buns with their pulled meats. I could understand that if I ordered just pulled meats by the pound. However in a "BBQ Party Pack" they should be included. I was told garlic bread was included.... Why? Who is going to make a sandwich with garlic bread? The small Inconvenience of having to stop at Kroger to buy buns would cause me not to order from Smokey Bones again. It's the little things that make a difference. The styrofoam containers leaked. Juices from the pulled meats puddled in the bottom of the bags. It was quite messy and all the containers needed to be wiped off and the silverware packs were covered and needed to be tossed out .....another inconvenience. With another BBQ restaurant just down the street, Smokey Bones did not give me any reason to come back. I gave Smokey Bones a chance and the general consensus of the all who ate today was the food was mediocre and way overpriced compared to City BBQ. read more

We were our servers only table. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. She wrote it down. 25 minutes she brings out our entrees and I asked why we didn't get our appetizer. She said she forgot to order it. She said she'd put it in now. We said never mind. You need to look up the meaning of appetizer. And for $33 I had the worst toughest ribs I've Beverly had. This is a follow up to my first review that came out completely mixed up in the entire review. I apologize about that. First I I'd like to start by saying that this was my first time ordering from Bones and I couldn't have been any more disappointed I decided to reroute instead of ordering off the main menu I said I'll just order some sisides and just to give it a try and luckily I'm glad I did the sides were the corn that was very dried out and very hard to and I also ordered the greens that were cold and very greasy and I ordered the corn rolls or cornbread rolls that were very hard and did not receive any butter or anything to to go with them so they basically they were just bricks and then I ordered a large glass of sweet tea and they sent me two small glasses of unsweetened tea and the rest of the menu items that I ordered were just nondescript non-tasting just as Bland as they could be in any end up spending over $25 just on sides if just by going by the side menus items that I pick I would have hate to have wondered what the actual food was probably tasted like on that night so no I would not recommend this place just on my first experience but I do look at the other reviews and I see that a lot of people seem to like it so maybe possibly in the future all here to try one more time but for now that was my experience and that is my recommendation that no I do not recommend coming here for a meal. read more

This has become my go to spot in Avon. I usually dine alone (don't judge) so I post up at the bar. Up until this point I have had the same bartender every time. This evening I saw an unfamiliar face behind the bar. Didn't know what to expect but Danni did not disappoint. She carried herself with a certain bounce and was always smiling. She also appeared to have a good balance between interacting with bar guests while still tending to her other bartender responsibilities. Of course I had the smoked wings. Until something catastrophic happens this will be where I dine most evenings. Highly recommend! read more

I typically do not leave reviews, but our experience was so bad that I want to warn others to use their hard-earned money at a different restaurant. When in Avon, go next door to Longhorn or even On the Border where you'll get free chips and salsa. In short, my experience was: 1. We should have left after waiting 10 minutes to be greeted 2. Stone cold food 3. Forgotten food 4. Out of specific drinks at the bar 5. Mediocre taste relative to experiences at other SB 6. Disgusting bathroom 7. Management was lacking during this shift as they were over staffed and standing around in some parts of the restaurant and understaffed with no recognition in other areas. 8. For a brand new restaurant, their menus are literally falling apart. I wish them good luck and improvement so the location can thrive vs. sit empty, but beware. read more

Nice store, good service; HOWEVER, way overpriced for sub-par quality! I paid $25 for beef brisket which was dry and stringy. My wife ordered a third of a rack of ribs which turned out to be a pretty small portion and cost $19. She said they were OK but nothing special, especially for that price. The broccoli was cold and undercooked. About the only good items served were the beans and coleslaw. I had high hopes for this new restaurant so I am pretty disappointed. Stopped in here for a second time. The first time, I sat at the bar by myself for 10 minutes, and no one helped me, so I left. This time, the bartender checked with me right away. She did a great job by just doing her job. I ordered the pulled pork lunch with roasted corn and steak fries. The corn and steak fries were good. Once again the pulled pork had very little flavor without any kind of sauce. I have yet to find a good pulled pork sandwich in the Marion County area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you have to put sauce on your barbecue then it's not good barbecue. I took my family and another family to Smokey Bones in Avon, IN on 7/25/2024. First thing was that 3 of our party tried to order the 3 entrée dinners only to be told that brisket couldn't be ordered with the meal although on the menu it was clearly a $5.00 add on, then after about 20 minutes the waitress comes back and says they have no 1/4 chicken. Then we ask for a manager and when she comes out we end up substituting for things we didn't really enjoy but after being there over an hour we were hungry. So I got the 16oz New York Strip and it came cold. There were only 4 other tables of people in the place yet I had to snag a different waiter for napkins because ours disappeared. Then to top it off they bring me a bill for $259.00 what a rip off.. It was very poor food, very poor service and it almost appears like i paid a price for complaining. We ordered a family meal about around 8:30 PM, it was around $30. My husband went to pick up the order and had to wait about 10 minutes. Drove home about 10 minutes away and EVERYTHING was terrible. The potato was not loaded, it was old, the chicken was hard and dry. My husband ordered chili which he called chili water with cheese. Everything was terrible.
