Well, where do I start with this place? About seven years ago, this place was excellent. Service was on point. Everything was good. Now the service sucks the the waitress forget your food what you order they take 1 million years to even help you. They're all in the back talking and joking around not doing their job right I would not recommend this place at all. They're even lucky. I'm giving them one star if you're hungry, get dominoes instead of here. When I went there, I wouldn't my girlfriend food. She got her food first I waited about 45 minutes just to get my food and the waitress came up to me and said am I joking that I order my food? This place is a joke. read more

This fledgling chain used to focus exclusively on beef and pork BBQ but more recently has migrated to the wings/burger sweet spot to attract more of the backwards baseball cap wearing crowd and sports bar traffic. The only downside is that there's nothing unique or compelling about anything on the menu right on down to the cutesy names and science experiment saucing. The Asian "Not-chos" were drowning in an overweening, sweet liquid that probably could have an afterlife as smelling salts as they brought everyone to rapt attention. The wings were decent and the burgers were... well... burgers. Besides that there's nothing of note to report (or remember) from the sand bar they call Long Island. Will start off with what's right about this place. Large location so no wait times. Plenty of seating. Host when we walked in was so nice! Smoked wings are good! Pricing is decent/average. Ok, other than what I listed above, we can get into what was wrong. Was not overly busy. However, food still took about an hour to come out and everything was cold, except for one person's meal. That was quite disappointing considering it was late and we had just waited an hour. The group at the table next to mine had to go to the front and ask hostess for boxes and the bill. Our shared waiter was nowhere to be found! I will write this off to the possibility they were short staffed, but even so, you'd expect the waiter to come check on your table occasionally. I feel like my experience was just ok, hence the 3 star rating. I'd recommend others to try it at least once, but it's not a must and I probably won't be back unless I end up ordering to-go wings. read more

When considering if you want top notch BBQ, or down the pipe average BBQ, just know that Smoky Bones is a chain, and be aware that you'll get ok food, and nothing spectacular. Not saying chain BBQ places can't be awesome, same are indeed. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a nice BBQ atmosphere in general. Ordered a "create your own combo", pulled pork sandwich, and two kids burgers. No real complaints overall, but don't have anything overly positive to say either. The food was ok, a bit salty actually, but average BBQ. The service was very good. Our waitress, Samatha was very good. She was polite, helpful, and attentive. My sweet sister with immaculate taste constantly raves about this place and how deliciously fresh their meat is. She never leaves any meat on the bones. She always asks the waitress for a to-go box for the bones. She likes to save them for a nice smoky soup. Her freezer is literally full of them. They're so kind and accommodating. My brother recommended this place so we went. The service is excellent. We went for the bonfire but we were told that they can't substitute the pork-based meat with non-pork based meat which sucks. Anyway, I got fire-grilled shrimp which was great, except the sauce was too salty when combined with the fries. But that's prolly cuz the fries were salted anyway. It comes with 2 sides so I also got sweet corn which was great. My brother got smoked beef brisket, which was good but really tough. He also got 2 baked potatoes & toast with it. The baked potatoes were good. Didn't try the salmon so can't speak for it but the mashed potatoes with gravy are good. The cinnamon apple pie is good but way too sweet. Huge dining area booth/table/bar. Service was slow and the ribs, pulled pork (sandwich & platter) were dry. Not a fan of the 4 sauces available to put on the proteins. The chicken sandwich was good not too thick. DO NOT order the Mac and cheese, tasteless and mushy tasted like a piece of American cheese was put on top of reheated pasta not even mixed in the pasta. Didn't try the garlic bread. Sweet potato fries were fine. Typical sports bar.The TVs over the bar were not too loud to prohibit conversation. Plenty of parking. Ladies room had a handicap stall. Not worth coming back to. Check was on a handheld device so I don't know if we were charged the cash amount or credit card amount but we paid cash do we may have over paid but at least they took the $5 credit I got for joining their repeat customers. read more

Here we go, So my best friend and I decided instead of getting seafood we would try this place out. I have heard good things about the food. So we decided Ok can't hurt to try. Well my first impression when I walked in the place looked a bit dull. I'm not sure because it was raining and we were hungry , but it didn't have that vibe ,groovy energy. I decided to try the food anyway. Some of the waiters were dressed up for Halloween which was pretty cool. The waitress I think her name was Megan was very nice and helpful. We started off with the wings and there cornbread with this flavored butter. It was delish. Afterwards I had the rib special which was not all that great. My friend had tomato soup. Mac and cheese, grilled cheese. She said she had better food. Overall I give this place 3 stars. Suggestion they need floor runners on their floor to the dining area. Smokey Bones is a unique experience. I visited this restaurant with some family friends about 2 weeks ago. I don't usually go to these types of bar and restaurants, so it had been a while since I dined at a place like this. Walking in, I was immediately captivated by their ambiance; it was different and had a truly unique atmosphere. I particularly liked that they have their own sauces, which they also sell. I tried all of them, and they were all good. I regret not buying some to take home. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely get their sauces. For starters, I ordered their big Nachos and their cornbread. The cornbread was soft, beautiful, and incredibly delicious, like a literal pillow. The nachos were absolutely delicious, with cheese and short rib, creating an explosion of flavors that blended well together. For the main course, we ordered their big jumbo meat package with a variety of meats. I was pleasantly surprised when they brought it to the table; it felt like heaven. However, some of the meats were disappointingly dry and bland, which somewhat dampened my experience. Fortunately, the sauces came to the rescue, adding flavor to the dry meats. The desserts were a highlight. We had their doughnuts, which came with grape jelly and chocolate syrup, and they were very good. Personally, I might not return because I'm not a barbecue enthusiast, but if you love barbecue and you're in the area, this is the spot for you. read more

Well. I've actually never had this happen to me before. First time I've been here, I had a fresh sign up in their app, they had to know I was a new customer. I ordered two brisket grilled cheese, potato wedge, sweet potato fries and 8 smoked wings. Now. I don't usually go in, but this visit pissed me off. As someone whose worked 20 years in food service, I'm just appalled. So let's review the food. Potato wedges have some flavor, just that flavor needs to be spread around the potato instead of clumps blasted at the potato like nobody gave a crap. Sweet potato fries. Either way overheld or dropped twice. Wings were good, sauces were on point and flavor was perfect and on point. Brisket grilled cheese seemed a bit dry, it had some flavor but the brisket was cardboardy almost. Tomato bisque - never recieved. The person gave me the order and said nothing. I actually drove a half hour here because I was looking for grilled cheese and tomato soup and some smoked meats sounded like a good idea. But this place doesn't compare to say, Jim and Nick's. So I went back in to get the bisques, as they weren't included in my bag, I was told, 'oh we're out of the bisque. Would you like a credit?' Of course the only response I could have is, 'and you gave me my order and let me walk out of here without saying anything' So, basically first time customer, but never coming back. If you can't 86 a menu item when you don't have all the ingredients, and instead try to slip not providing 2 cups of soup past the customer, on two $19 sandwiches, you shouldn't have a job in food service. That's my opinion. Here's some handy training for if this pops up again. You 86 the item out of the computer. If you can't do that with online, you call the guest. You don't try to slip away with the guests money without providing half the dish, and then offer a credit only after you get caught, after the customer has had to return to the inside of the store. I don't want an apology, or a credit, this review is to let other customers know this is happening at this store. Oh. And my order was curbside. Had two AYCE wing orders, one Jumbo Smoked and one Boneless. Waitress was very great, and the service was excellent. If I could say one thing I did not like, it does not say the spice value for any of the wings. The KC BBQ wings were mild spice, the Korean wings were medium spice, and the rest weren't spicy. I liked all of the wings we got (we shared one of each except I had all the spicy ones) except for the hot honey ones. Tons of honey, but also tasted somewhat artificial, ended up not being eaten more than some of the first. Waitress took them back with no issue, which I was very thankful for. The Korean wings left my lips tingling, but they still tasted really good. The boneless wings were all cooked very well, but the smoked wings were hit or miss, some tasted overcooked, some tasted burnt, and some were fine, but I liked them burnt a bit so that was fine for me. Sever was wonderful. He was very gracious explaining everything to us. I got the smoked turkey lunch special for $11.95. The turkey was very dry and could have used some moisture. I felt that it was sitting in a steam table and dried out. The table had several bottles of different flavor BBQ sauces which are tasty but I didn't want to douse the turkey in this. My two sides were broccoli and mash potatoes with gravy. This is a chain restaurant around the USA. Food is standard. Many TV's to watch the sport games. About 14 years ago it came here to Long Island and the concept was great along with the food. Up all night drinking water & seltzer. Lacking the smoke and flavor the way it use to be. There's a red lobster next door. That's your better bet instead of here. I'm a huge wings fan and had these buffalo wings before when we ordered to take out last year. I couldn't put them down there were so addicting! The restaurant is spacious and nice and the bar area is very nice too. They have a large selection of different sauces. This time I ordered the 8 "Jumbo Wings" and a side, but I'm not sure why they call them jumbo wings because they were the regular little ones that you typically get. They tasted good but the small amount of food wasn't really worth it. I also was also told by someone here that there's a national wing shortage related to covid and this has created problems. So be sure to read the menus carefully. Nevertheless these were better tasting than other Long Island places I've been to. read more
