Came here to grab lunch on a Sunday, we saw so many empty tables so figured we wouldn't have a wait. We were greeted as if we were not wanted there; the hostess was extremely unfriendly. The wait was 20 minutes, but we saw spots open at the bar so we proceeded to sit there, only to wait about ten minutes to be greeted. I started going here once a month. Every time I went they were out of beef brisket. Really? I thought this was a BBQ restaurant. The waitress said if you don't get there by 5:00 pm they run out. Talked to the manager and could had care less. Won't be going there ever again. read more

I absolutely love the smoked wings with a side if garlic buff sauce. Yum yum. Emily is by far the best server I've had she is super friendly and doesn't miss anything. Don't skip dessert here they have the best freshly made doughnuts with a raspberry dipping sauce!!!!! read more

This place has really bad food. I would definitely compare it as bad as buffalo Wild Wings. You eat wings and next day it guarantees you diarrhea. Other than the food, the environment is renovated with huge bar.Great variety of beer and drinks. Customer service at dinning is bad but the bartenders are really friendly. Two stars is probably too generous for this place. But we went on a Sunday afternoon at peak dinner time there was no wait should have been our first clue. Hubby ordered the rib special and asked that he have light sauce on the ribs they came dripping bbq sauce and the sauce looked burnt. I ordered the smoked house chicken more like the drown house chicken so much stuff added to the chicken the melted cheddar cheese looked days old the bacon tasted old and I didn't like the sauce they put under the bacon and cheese. I would have sent it back and ordered something else but our waitress turned into a magician she disappeared she only came back to our table when it was quite clear we were ready to leave to ask if we wanted dessert she never asked how the meal was at all. I'm surprised by all the bad reviews this place has gotten, because for the life of me I can't think of a truly bad experience I've had. Sports bar ambiance, delicious food, good waitstaff... And they have things going on all the time. I've been a regular for Thursday night trivia, which is always a good time. Tuesday was Beirut night, and Wednesdays are Bingo if that's your thing. They have a Build-Your-Burger notepad so you can pick and choose anything you want, including the quality/size of meat (or veggie burger) and type of bun, toppings like roasted peppers or avocado, lettuce, tomato, spinach, onions (BBQ, sauteed, or fried - in "straws" or rings), and what sides you'd like. I love that it's on paper, because spewing out my special orders often confuses both me and the waitress, so this makes it pretty foolproof. (My go-to burger has bacon, spinach, roasted red peppers, avocado, and BBQ onions, no cheese, no bun.) Their ribs are amazing, slow-cooked for hours, and I highly recommend the pulled pork. When it comes to desserts, I'm not typically a fan in general, but I will say their powdered donuts with chocolate and strawberry sauce are delish. Keeping in perspective that it's a chain restaurant, I'd take it over several of the alternatives any day. Prices are pretty in line with what you'd pay in similar places. They also have a pretty great drink menu, and having been a regular of the establishment, I've tried most of what they offer and haven't been disappointed. A favorite of my usual group is one of the seasonal beers (maybe Shipyard?) with a shot of vanilla vodka. I tend to opt for the Berry Sangria and our regular waitress keeps them coming. We did go once when our waitress wasn't working, and the young blonde we had instead screwed up a few orders, and was slow on drinks. The guys I was with enjoyed looking at her, but she had little else to offer. For that, and it's chain-restaurant status they get bumped down to 4-stars. read more

My Husband and I were out and about last night and decided to try something new for us, we ended up at Somkey Bones in Tyngsboro MA. I am so glad we decided to try it! The brisket was off the charts! As was our whole dinner! But what really made the dinner fabulous was our excellent server Meghan Naughton, she was there before we could even ask for anything! We haven't been to a Smokey Bones in years as we moved out of state. So we finally moved back and said we should go out to dinner to our fav place. What a disappointment. My husband ordered a 22 ounce and the server brought a 16ounce and tried to convince him that it's 22ounces. They lie to the customers and sell them the wrong amount. Appetizer came out after main and we said no thank you. Food wasn't that great but we were starving. The waitress was not where she wanted to be so she gave crappy service.We will not be going back. Me and a coworker went here last night and walked away really disappointed. The atmosphere was fair at best and the food wasn't anything to brag about. I had the Texas BBQ brisket plate with mashed potatoes and BBQ beans --- it was an epic fail. My coworker had the smokehouse burger and he said it was flavorless, he didn't even finish half of it. I ordered a medium rare steak, which came out too well done. I asked for a new steak that was cooked less. The manager came out and instead of apologizing said that they tested the temperature and that it was cooked medium rare. I had cut up the steak and it had time to cool down before I sent it back. I always order medium rare, I know what it's suppose to look like. Not pleased with how they deal with complaints. They returned with a raw steak, and I was so humiliated with how the manager delt with it earlier that I didn't feel comfortable to say it was not cooked. Will NOT return. read more

The good: 1) We found out there'd be a 40-minute wait, so I took the buzzer with me and we went to the mall. 40 minutes later, we returned, and the buzzer started vibrating as soon as I opened the door. 2) We found a spot right by the door. 3) The ribs and my hamburger were good. The bad: 1) The waiter brought (flung) our meal to another table, and while we were looking at each other wondering how they got served before we did when they had just ordered, we realized that perhaps they had our meal. 2) My husband had to get out of his seat to find the waiter, who then retrieved the meal. The waiter had an attitude and did ask (with the same attitude) if we wanted another meal. Almost seemed like he blamed us for his mistake. He made up some ridiculous thing about the table number being wrong. Yeah. I asked him to find out if the people touched the plate with their forks or hands, and they hadn't so we went with that meal. The ugly: 1) My husband ordered iced tea and when it came time for a refill, the waiter was nowhere to be seen. We believe he was avoiding us on purpose. He finally came back and he returned 10 minutes after that with water, and not the iced tea. 2) We called over the manager to complain about our experience and to tell him that we didn't want that waiter to be waiting on us. We also told him that we needed iced tea. 3) The manager told us he'd "take care of us." Not sure if that involved a gun, but it certainly didn't involve anything else...even a comped meal. When we left, the clueless waiter (whose name I remember but won't say) gave a smirk and told us to have a nice day. I'm a lady, so I won't tell you what I gave HIM, behind my back. He needs to refine his skills. 3 stars for the meal, -2 for service = 1. Do I know my math, or what? read more

I have to give a star to review so... my beer glass was chipped and cracked so I told the bartender and she poured the beer I had into another glass. What? FYI she actually broke the glass so I almost swallowed shards of glass. I didn't want to drink it when she did that but when I questioned her about it she seemed very confused over why I would be concerned. Just plain dumb. Went there last Saturday night (November 23)with friends, the drinks were ok, a little weak, the food AWFUL!!! And the waitress wasn't very attentive, we sat there 15-20 mins before she came back to check if we needed anything or another drink. My friend and I ordered the fish and OMG it was Gordon's fisherman's fish NOT fresh fish, it was straight out of the freezer grocery market fish... it was mushy and gross!!! I was expecting fresh haddock or cod but got this nasty fish instead. My other friend ordered the streak Caesar salad and she did not care for it... will never go back and waste my money for something I could of cooked at home for way cheaper!!!! read more

Went here on Monday for the wing night special (all-you-can-eat for $10.99). Upon arrival, we noticed how busy the place was, which was expected with Monday Night Football and wing night. What we didn't know was that there was a live cornhole game going on too. Very cool and something unique and entertaining to see! The first place winner received a prize of $100. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing with the current "top 40" hits booming through the restaurant. The service is where the stars were lost. There was a table next to us, a group of younger guys, who must've been employees because all the servers kept talking and sitting over there for a little bit in passing. Our server was great, one of the more professional ones, but her trainee looked a bit confused. What struck me as odd is when her trainee ate a fry, WHILE she was walking through the restaurant, off the plate (from the table everyone was talking to) in plain sight as she was walking into the kitchen. Just a little strange and a bit off-putting to guests who may not have seen her at the table of friends beforehand. It also would have been nice to see a manager walking around checking on guests, but there was not a manager in sight. Wings were OK. Nothing special. The sauces and flavors didn't do anything for me. The wings are HUGE and meaty, which is rare to see for places that do wing specials. Usually you get the dinky ones (which I actually prefer). The first round consists of 8 wings of only ONE flavor and some fries. After the first 8 you get 4 each time and you can change up the flavor/sauce every time after the first round. I don't think we'll be back for the wings, but I definitely will go back and try other menu items that looked appealing (many of the appetizers as well as the specialty mac and cheese choices). read more

I used to hate going here but it has gotten a lot better through the years. They now provide vegetarian options even though they are mostly known for their meat. I'm giving a 3.5 for food and a 2 for service/price. My husband and I ordered take out from here on Saturday night. We got an email saying it would be ready for pick-up around 6:30PM (~40 minutes later). We show up at 6:35 and the place was packed. There was at least an hour wait for a table. The host said our food would "be right out" and then basically ignored us. 20 minutes later - still no food. Every time we tried to get an update we were interrupted by some girl who was also waiting for takeout but apparently also works there. I understand restaurants get busy on Saturdays but they didn't seem to have anything organized. Not impressed by the whole exchange. We finally got our food over an hour after we ordered it. I got a combo plate of baby back ribs and smoked wings. Both were really really good. But they only give you 4 ribs!! The entire platter costs $19. I know barbecue is expensive but usually you get a plate overloaded with food for that amount. I was full at the end of the meal but frankly for $19 I was expecting to have leftovers. My husband got a combo plate of Bourbon BBQ chicken and pulled pork. The chicken was a tiny little piece and basically tasted like someone poured a shot of straight bourbon on top after it was plated. The pulled pork was full of fat and a lot of it was inedible. He really was not happy with the meal and once again the quantity was pathetic. All in all we will think twice before coming back here. read more

Probably one of my favorite places to go on a Saturday night when I'm around the area or even during the week. This place has heavy fatty food that just makes you feel good. The service is great and the food is very good most of the time. If you're looking for any kind of diet menu go elsewhere because this place doesn't have anything like that. read more

Food was ok,but took way too long to be delivered. Waitress did apologize for long delay in getting food explaining that kitchen gets backed up. What seems to be a trend in this type of restaurant was that the music was way too loud. Manager explained she only put it on what corporate directed her to put it on. She explained that corporate wants the music loud for privacy so one table can't hear what the other is saying. Ok, I have now heard what I believe,is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard. Some marketing genius saw an 18 year old in their car with the music blaring and surmised that loud music would attract kids. I suspect this volume could injure the ears of the very young. Ridiculous. They also place a tablet on the table and if you use it to play a game while waiting 30 minutes for your food they charge you $2 adding insult to injury. They do their best to make it difficult to like what could be a good family restaurant. Down with all the marketing geniuses. read more

Unfortunately, this is the only place in Nashua that serves "real" BBQ. Unfortunately, it is bog-standard, offend nobody food. Unfortunately, the only BBQ sauce they have is sweet. Too sweet. Unfortunately, the other food is so-so. Unfortunately, the baked BBQ beans have so much of their sweet sauce that 3 bites is too much. Unfortunately, the desserts offered are typical chain fare. Smokey Bones is unfortunate. They do one thing right, given that it's a chain place. The meat is good, and cooked well - it won't knock your socks off, but it's perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, everything else is "meh". I come here on occasion (every couple years or so) because I can't always drive 45 minutes to get some pulled pork, but my expectations are modest, and I can come away satiated, if not overly satisfied should the need of visiting Smokey Bones arrive. Maybe if I took some homemade sauce, people wouldn't look at me like I had six heads? I think I may have to try that some time! read more

I really enjoyed the brisket that I had at Smokey Bones. It was succulent and flavorful. The Bloody Mary I had was also really delicious. The issue I have is that it seems like the secret ingredient to all the dishes is sugar. This is not a great place for those of us that like to keep low carb. The BBQ sauce had noticeable amounts of the white stuff in it. If you don't mind this, then by all means hit it up! If you live nearly an hour away from this place, it may not be worth the trip if there's similar in your area. read more
