When I have a hearty appetite, one of my favorite meals is baby back ribs, accompanied by mashed potatoes and another side. Usually, I order ribs from Chili's (which actually has pretty good ribs, especially for a chain), but the wife wanted to try something different and suggested we try Smokey Bones. I called in our to-go order: a full rack of baby back ribs for me, and brisket for the wife. Since Smokey Bones shares a rather small parking lot with the Olive Garden (it fills up fast on a Friday or Saturday evening), I parked across the way in the larger parking lot shared by Savers and Best Buy. As I approached Smokey Bones, I admired the decorative fire pit in front of the restaurant (I bet it looks really cool when it gets dark). Also, I really liked the the minimalist, almost industrial vibe inside the restaurant; it's not overcrowded, like Olive Garden. My food was ready in exactly the time promised, which scores huge points with me when it comes to takeout. The young man at the takeout counter demonstrated a great grasp of customer service: he offered me a free soda, and volunteered to give me a $5 discount off the order! The takeout service was outstanding, and our order was 100 percent correct. As for the food, it was nearly equally good. Ribs had plenty of meat, little fat, and fell off the bone; I could taste a bit of smoke. Their barbecue sauce ably complemented the ribs. While the mashed potatoes were a bit bland, my other side (fire-roasted corn) stole the show; these were the most exciting corn niblets I've ever had, both in regard to flavor and appearance. Wifey enjoyed her brisket, and sides (macaroni and cheese, and baked beans), as much I enjoyed my ribs and corn. They also have fried apples as a side, she later discovered, and we will both likely try those next time. We both got two meals from our order, which was just over $40, so the food was a good value. read more

When I received the water there was black floating mold in it. We ordered 12 wings and only received 10 we asked a different waiter about the issue because our waitress was no where to be found. He went to find and talk to Jaliah about the problem. You would think she would be the one to come over and tell us they were gonna make some more for us. I've eaten here three times and each time has been disappointing. I have found the food often comes out cold or room temp and not really tasty. The most disappointing food item I've tried was the "smoked" wings. These are obviously only fried and not smoked in any way, and then they're served with a very small amount of some weird glaze that doesn't add any value to them. They lack flavor in every way, and having the descriptor labeled as smoked seems to be false advertisement. Ate in the restaurant late this afternoon. The restaurant had very few diners at that time. We were seated immediately. Social distancing was enforced as well as mask wearing. There were several servers in the restaurant but we waited approximately 25 min before anyone came to our table. We were then informed that they ran out of baby back ribs the previous night and had not received another shipment. Once the food was served it was very good and well worth the price. Things may have been better if: 1. Service was a bit more attentive. Understanding staffing issues during the pandemic, it did not seem like a staffing shortage...there were several servers and very few patrons. 2. They have the best barbeque Memphis glaze and best loaded cheese fries! Been here many Monday night's, for the all you can eat wings night. Everyones favorite is the original Memphis wings, with extra glaze. The glaze is a sweet barbeque style sauce, it's delicious. The smoked wings are also good, but i prefer the traditional crunchy texture of the original fried wings. The buffalo wings are also good, a solid and balanced flavored buffalo sauce. Great blue cheese. The loaded fries, is a must each visit, loaded with cheese and bacon, drizzled with the Memphis glaze and with a Chipotle mayo underneath the fries, really great combination of flavors. The pork baby back ribs, are smoked and cooked perfectly, really tender and tasty. They are pricey, but worth it. Also delicious are the barbeque baked beans and corn bread with maple nut butter. I'm not a fan though, of the alcoholic drinks, had several here and havn't liked one yet. read more

So I entered with my best foot forward tasting BBQ from various states each with their own flavores and techniques , I took family we waited way to long even when noticing seating were available, once seated another long wait for drinks and to place our food order, once ordered another long wait, then ah the food..but fast became sad, disappointed many feeling , I felt bad for bring family there..the portions where from the kids menu and dry dry the flavores were something, if you believe that this is BBQ please save up and take a trip to our beautiful southern and mid western states. Ordered in person to go and was told the wait was 15mins. I waited over 50mins just for an order of small sweet potatoes fries, donuts, and 8piece wings. I live 3mins away. When I got home, i saw that I got some nasty cold fries, 7wings instead of 8, and cold donuts with the donut's sugar all at the bottom not even on the donuts. Okay, so I've never had ribs in Texas or Kansas City, but from what I've tried this place has really great ribs! I prefer the baby back ribs, they fall right off the bone. Their pulled pork is also a little bit of Heaven :) My only qualm is that there are a couple sides I'd really love as choices that I've found at other similar restaurants: smashed sweet potatoes/sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. Went on Monday for wings during the NFL games and was super impressed how great our waitress Heather was! I noticed that a lot of reviews on here mention bad service. That was not the case with my experience. I visited here on a busy Saturday night with the hubby and two kids. We put our name in and despite it being busy, we only had a 15 minute wait. Out waitress's name was Kate and she was on point. She made sure our glasses were never empty and our food was right. The hostess let my little one play with the buzzer and from time to time "buzzed" it which kept him occupied the whole time. The rest of the staff was friendly as well, commenting on how cute our kids were. Now the food....The roasted chicken nachos are the bomb. The only place I have had better was Toby Keith's @Patriot Place. My hubby and I split a BLT burger and mac and cheese. The burger was cooked to perfection and the toppings were fresh, the mac and cheese on the otherhand was bland and didn't taste homemade. Traders Joes has better frozen mac and cheese. The kids both ordered grilled cheese but our waitress mistakenly grabbed chicken fingers so it took a few extra minutes for their food to arrive. She apologized, but it literally was just 2 more minutes. The grilled cheese is on a sourdough bread with the orange cheese. Kids loved it. Fries were hot and crispy, cinnamon apples got gobbled up in minutes. Portions are huge. We felt like absolute gluttons. I had a $10 off coupon so our bill only came to $31.23!
